This video has been on YouTube almost since YouTube went public and even then nobody knew who made it or why. Maybe it's knowledge beyond the Internets reach. Don't wait for a sequel, or die trying.
I think it is a hacker, because the Win-nukes may refer to windows, one moment they show proxy but thinking about it I wonder if Char is the hacker, and the Gundam ripoff is the anti hacker thing. lol
I've seen this video before. My friend showed it to me right before he died; there are actually multiple parts to it. I actually found your video looking specifically for this one. I would also like to know where the other parts to it are. Good hunting!
Yeah, the view from below during the cockpit scenes is evidence for spoofing Getter Robo. Btw the guy Char Aznable is fighting is Nonchan from that Art is good website
At certain points, the cockpit's grid screen resembles the cockpit of one of the Megaduses from Big O. However, this being made around four years ago may disproove that the cockpit is associated in any way with Big O.
I'd say you can discard the DBZ relation in this. Energy balls in DBZ aren't created the way it was in this film, nor is the hand flipping involved in the close-combat battles in DBZ. I'd say the hand-to-hand was Spike's fighting style from Cowboy Bebop
This video has bits from different anime in it. The most noticable is the Evangelion bits, including the running noises and the battery power time limit panel. The voices are undoubtedly Char and Amuro from the Gundam series, also from the Gundam series besides Char and his mobile suit is the Gundam's shield and beam saber equipment.
then comes more talking ("My powers are superior to yours! MUHA!" "Dam! His powers are superior to mine" "Oh noes! His Powers are superior to you!"). Then before the super attacks you get more 3 hour duration scenes with energy loading and the person who does so roars as if he/she is attempting abuse a park bench as buttplug (and the opponent does not attack during this time but stares at the flashy effects) and people gocking saying crappy lines ("OMG teh power how can this be?")
If the battle style would be DBZ they would first talk four 3 hours and manage not to say anything plot-relative ("I shall destroy you!" "You want to destroy me?" "Will he destroy him?!"), then fight consisting of both standing still next to eathother and crappy fist blurring occuring between them and some position changes and time wasting dashing-around-and-shooting-energy-balls-at-eachother-that-either-miss-or-have-no-particular-effect-anyways-ish action from time to time,
Animation/Battle style is partually from Super Robot Taisen (If you look exactly sometimes body parts seem to be single objects as if done with flash during close-ups), but definitely not from DBZ, DBZ animations are lame (Toriyama doesn't do fast pace and doesn't make detailed movements during slow motion).
I agree with Sabata, but you have to add in Dragon Ball somewhere, because I distinctly heard sounds of fist-to-face contact attributed to Dragon Ball. That, and I heard the 'sound of really fast moving,' too.
And a couple of Kenshin sword unsheathings along the way.
you're delving into too much unnecessary detail since this movie really didnt lift from anythingKenshin. ALthough I can't say for Kenshin sounds, those DBZ sounds are for the most part generic sounds from popular Japanese sound archives. I agree that this movie borrows from popularized battles style of DBZ in terms of style and can be credited, but I think your Kenshin and DBZ insinuation based on mere usage of familiar sounds is irrelevent.

I think It's Char vs a Hacker, just the computer feel to it every time it regerates at times. o.o;

Noticed a few parodies as well, Evangelion one where Char fires his winnukes and the "hacker" stops them.
