so why no slip mode on 2000? it would be pretty inconvenient to have to carry cd's even tho you have a thumb drive just to do some special tricks on the 900 lol
Hey Brian, sorry for bugging you-don't know if you read my comment but on the new Croiwn amps, do you know when they will be available nad prices-especially the 2500. Thank you.
Truth is, when you attend these types of trade shows, there are some companies who give you the time of day and others who don't.
A really good example of this would be Rane. GREAT product, but the reps (not the DJS) in the booth were less than willing to talk to me let alone make eye contact.
... and I get it. They don't need my silly youtube videos to sell product, so I won't be doing much silly video for them.
efx on the mic but not on the line channels. big fail! their fix is to just get a efx-1000, but who wants to bring MORE gear to the gig??? i will stick with the pio djm-3000. i'm lovin it! oldie but goodie.
It's more about bottom line & quality than performance Thing is, when you gig out as much as I do, some of the lower end mixers where they have made serious compromises in the circutry to keep costs & price points down, like to crap out on you when you least expect it (I, like many, have unfortunatelly had this experience with Behringer mixers in the past)
Pioneer mixers are very solid, dependable & built to last YEARS...
... as for bottom line, although clients typically don't give a monkey's about your gear, they will dig it that your stuff isn't breaking down during a performance. Also, you won't have to buy a Sonic Maximizer, effects for a mic (for you Karaoke guys), OR top quality sound cards because it's all built in! That's a savings of several hundred bucks right there!
For serious mobile DJs, I think the DJM-5000 is a very smart value. Best overall Mobile mixer I've seen to date!
Hey Brian, check out Numark's NS7 and V7. They're really great controllers, and do nearly the same thing as the 2000's, except you can buy 2 NS7's or about 3 V7's for 1 CDJ 2000 lol
Who is Mikey Mike, lol other than the Mad Scientist of DJ fabrication. Nothing impressive on the DJM 5000, a few upgrades from the DJM 3000. Pioneer is taking cues from Numark,, ba hahaha. If your virtual files are organized the search is very simple no matter how many MP3's you have. Take your time & tag them correctly. I just finished tagging our entire library & 6 months later,,shhh finished. Pioneer needs to motorize the platters & simplify in my opinion. Mike & Brian keep posting the videos.
Hey MORE than a few upgrades here. I think this is a fantastic mixer for mobile and Karaoke DJs. The mic channels with a 3 band eq plus effects would be perfect for Karaoke. 3 zones for volume would work great for clubs & bars where there are areas that need some control, the built-in sound card makes for a very quick set-up (no more external sound card!) and a built in BBE Sonic Maximizer? Hey that's pretty danm cool.
Hey Brian you probably heard of it but you should checkout the Numark NS7. It's much simpler with all the same features as the CDJ-2000. It's a very mobile friendly set up. Peace.
whats the song at 11:35? thank you :)

What? The ability to use Rekordbox with the players is not available until March?!
So much for Pioneer advertising that function before the release.
It's also worth mentioning that although the software has the hot cue buttons, there are no hot cues on the CDJ900 so that option is not much use!
The CDJ900 also does not have the needle search strip for selecting letters, and you can't plug in a keyboard for searching on either model.

Seems that I remember they are going to do more with the software, give it more features, etc.

I didn't bother with them this year. They make a solid product, but not too many toys on board. It's sort of the same old thing every year with them.

Ok, I can see that.
But still I have a back up mixer and it still cost me a 3rd of the price.

The Numark decks may be good but they're not standalone solutions - they have to be used with a computer.
The CDJ900 and CDJ2000 can also be hooked to a computer, but they work as complete freestanding media players as well.
Big difference.
