Well i disagree that this can't be blamed on him. It's his team he needs to own it. Also his first game set a tone 36 pts 14 for 29 0 assist 3 turnovers. Most of those game came against poor defensive teams. As far as the 4 championships go, I seem to recall a certain 7'1" 330-360 pound center leading those Laker teams and winning every Finals MVP.

Today's defense are much easier to score against so Jordan would have a field day. The players now might be better athletes (even though Jordan played against much tougher competition in the 80's) but they have very low i.q.'s. Not the great players like LeBron, D-Wade, Kobe etc. but guys like Josh Smith, JR Smith etc. who have the talent but don't always do what's best for the team.

It's not just the PPG that separates Kobe and MJ it's everything about them. Kobe doesn't have the accolades, doesn't play as well against great defenses all the time and doesn't play nearly as well in the Finals.

When you see MJ's game and try to compare it to anyone's game today, you would notice a huge difference. I remember watching Magic and Bird. Bird was so very intelligent on the court and Magic was such an amazing play maker. Jordan was on a different level. His game was like Magic's and Bird's combined on steroids in my opinion. It seem as if it was three different type of categories of the game. It is hard for me that i've seen generations of the game to agree and compare MJ to anyone.

Kobe has 40 points with 5 minutes still to play in the 2nd quarter!!!! Jordan in his whole career has never had a 40 points half, his highest was 38 or 39, so he shows up jordan versus jordan.

If you watch the very first game Kobe played against Jordan on December of 1997, Kobe was a kid only 18 years old, versus jordan, basically still in his prime. Jordan scores 36 points in 35 minutes. Kobe comes off the BENCH, and scores 33 points in 29 minutes. So even in Jordan's prime and kobe just a kid, he still showed up jordan. But if you look at Jordan's very last game against Kobe when he was with the warriors, Kobe lights up jordan with 55 points, and jordan has only 23.

But basically I stated that Jordan in his WHOLE career only made 581 three pointers, and Kobe in a shorter career and he is still only 29 years old has made 1227 three pointers. One aspect of the game Jordan didn't have was three point shooting, other than that, he was great. On the other hand Kobe has every aspect of the game, offense, defense, shooting, everything.
So Kobe in a shorter career has way more than doubled Jordan's three pointers in his whole career. And Kobe (if he doesn't get a severe injury) still has ALOT of years ahead of him. Well i disagree that this can't be blamed on him. It's his team he needs to own it. Also his first game set a tone 36 pts 14 for 29 0 assist 3 turnovers. He failed to get his team involved. everyone chose to blame gasol who had 15 pts 5 for 10 7 assists with 11 rbs with the other 3 starters in single digits. I don't get it why blame gasol. Kobe a better long range shooter, MJ a better low post player. They r both great in middle range.
MJ always try to clean screen and make reasonable field goal attempts.
Kobe always try to make those jumper which looks diffcult but when he is hot he could score something like 81pts.
But in average, MJ is more effective because his style of play, and Kobe's style of play can't make him more than 50pts in playoffs especially against tough defender.

Today's defense are much easier to score against so Jordan would have a field day. The players now might be better athletes (even though Jordan played against much tougher competition in the 80's) but they have very low i.q.'s. Not the great players like LeBron, D-Wade, Kobe etc. but guys like Josh Smith, JR Smith etc. who have the talent but don't always do what's best for the team.

the reason why jordan has more scoring titles is that he didnt have lebron james, AI, D wade, SHAQ, T Mac, and wayyy more stars in his league. in the 90's all he worried about was like reggie miller, magic, and larry bird out of his prime.

It wouldn't make any sense for Kobe to score 30 points a game when he has Bynum, Gasol and Odom. Kobe can't win can he? If he scores 30 a game people will start bitchin' and say he's a ballhog, if he scores less they'll say he's lost a step or that he's not better than Jordan.

jordan has 10 scoring tittles Kobe only 2, kobe never had season with shoothing 49-50%! MJ always had 30ppg+ on 50+ (well besides last 1-2 seasons) so this is not very close. If you know something about b-ball than you should notice that Kobe is far worse than MJ. I'm not saying that kobe is poor shooter, on the contrary he's great but like I said MJ was much better

When you see MJ's game and try to compare it to anyone's game today, you would notice a huge difference. I remember watching Magic and Bird. Bird was so very intelligent on the court and Magic was such an amazing play maker. Jordan was on a different level. His game was like Magic's and Bird's combined on steroids in my opinion. It seem as if it was three different type of categories of the game. It is hard for me that i've seen generations of the game to agree and compare MJ to anyone.

If you watched that game it is on Youtube, you will see the greatest shooting display ever. Kobe goes for 55 points on jordans last game versus him, and jordan only has 23 points. Kobe has 40 points with 5 minutes still to play in the 2nd quarter!!!! Jordan in his whole career has never had a 40 points half, his highest was 38 or 39, so he shows up jordan versus jordan.

If you watch the very first game Kobe played against Jordan on December of 1997, Kobe was a kid only 18 years old, versus jordan, basically still in his prime. Jordan scores 36 points in 35 minutes. Kobe comes off the BENCH, and scores 33 points in 29 minutes. So even in Jordan's prime and kobe just a kid, he still showed up jordan. But if you look at Jordan's very last game against Kobe when he was with the warriors, Kobe lights up jordan with 55 points, and jordan has only 23.

Sorry my other comment wasn't posted. But basically I stated that Jordan in his WHOLE career only made 581 three pointers, and Kobe in a shorter career and he is still only 29 years old has made 1227 three pointers. One aspect of the game Jordan didn't have was three point shooting, other than that, he was great. On the other hand Kobe has every aspect of the game, offense, defense, shooting, everything.

So Kobe in a shorter career has way more than doubled Jordan's three pointers in his whole career. And Kobe (if he doesn't get a severe injury) still has ALOT of years ahead of him. Also another point, when jordan came in the league his weakness was shooting, (kind of like lebron), he developed that as he got older. But Kobe, came in and he has always had a great shot, mid-range or three pointer. That is why Kobe > Jordan.

Kobe's mid-range game was nothing compared to Jordan's when he first entered the league, and still isn't. Jordan just didn't shoot it often until 88. Jordan's driving game was unstoppable, so he drove all day. Kobe chucked bad shots and shooting a shitty percentage. Jordan's defense makes Kobe's look like high school. MJ's driving game leaves Kobe's in the dust. MJ's midrange game makes Kobe's look elementary, and MJ's athleticism makes Kobe look 80 years old. Jordan > Kobe, noob.

jordan isn't a great teammate at all. if he didn't like you he punched in the face. He punched two plays once in 1991 Will Purdue, and again in the 95-96 season, he hit Steve Kerr in the eye in practice and made him get a black eye. but they couldn't say anything bad, because they would've lost their jobs on the spot and the NBA would never talk about this again because jordan globalized the game, which is true, but all this hype about Jordan being such a great guy, needs to stop, period.

becasue what defines a great individual basketballer is the use of his team. Kobe might be the best one on one player to step on the court (mj would be equal)
but mj used his team wich makes hima better player. sometimes the best way of scoring a basket is setting it up with a nice pass etc.
Mj's rings show that he had the ability to make other players outside of him great.

Look.... here's a reality check on that situation.
MJ's team mates were great because they WERE GREAT. Not because he passed the ball to them in some magical way to make them shoot better. The 90's bulls were good. Their competition sucked. Period.
Saying "all he had to do is pass the ball" is on a level ignorance that it's difficult to address in only 500 characters.
No one said shit about Iverson doing the same thing. McGrady niether. In summary: when Kobe has a team, he can use his team.

as for mj having great players out side of him he had maybe one in pippen? the rest were solid. Point is Mj was up in assists, steals, blocks, and rebounds. And he had an amazing offensive game.
But i will sit back and say that we cant compare casue of different era's.

You missed the point about Iverson & McGrady. I don't care if you "mentioned" them or not. No one called them a ball hog. They were doing their assigned duties just like Kobe is today. No one called them ball hogs. The Bulls were a great team period. If Dominique Wilkins was in MJ's shoes, he would be the "MJ". It was a great team in an easy division. If Kobe took the game into his hands less, then that team wouldn't even make it to the play offs. He's doing EXACTLY what he should do.
