  • seems blurry.

  • Were did u edit this video?

  • How do you make it widescreen?

  • can you PLEASE tell me how you add those CORRECTION COLORS!!? PLEASE

  • what are your settings on your camera for this?

  • I mean how do you did the focus? lol

  • @pablosanroman0 Just zoom in all the way and make sure there's a good distance between your foreground and background, then mess around with the manual focus knob.

  • @darkpivotstudios Pretty thanks, nice video dude i need help i will buy a camcorder but i dont have too much money so, what will you choose between a Canon VIXIA HF R20 or a Sony HDR-CX110 ? help me please

  • @pablosanroman0 I've never used the Sony one. I've always stuck with Canon. Just look at reviews and compare the specs, I'm sure you'll be able to decide.

  • @darkpivotstudios Thanks bro :) i just have a question, how is called that effect?

  • @pablosanroman0 Which effect?

  • @darkpivotstudios Where is the manual focus knob? I own the Hf R10 and it doesn't have one. Also, how do you access the image stabilizer?

  • @pablosanroman0 their is a setting were you can change exposure and mic level and also focus to manual and can use arrow button to change focus their is also a nice mic input

  • how did you do the approach at the start of the video?

  • hi,

some videos with this camera are 1080p and others are only 720p why? can u please explain

  • @CTCarter18 I only rendered them 720p so they would upload faster.

  • @darkpivotstudios but this video is 1080?

  • @CTCarter18 This was the first one, I only made the decision after this video.

  • @darkpivotstudios so u can chose wether or not u want 1080p (sorry im just starting out with hd cameras

  • @CTCarter18 No, I filmed it in 1080p and then rendered it out of my editing program in 720p so it would be quicker.

  • @darkpivotstudios ok do u use sony vegas?

  • @CTCarter18 Yes

  • Does this work good at night time ? like can u see ?

  • @SpaceeLifeeTv There is a low light setting...But I haven't tested it yet.

  • how do you turn on the light?

  • @kyle2studios There's no light on this camera model.

  • I dont know bout all this stuff.. but..

How u do the color correction?

did u do that w/ the cam or a software?

  • @Unkoolkiddz No, it's using a more advanced editing software called "Sony Vegas".

  • @darkpivotstudios aight, thanx man.

  • @darkpivotstudios You use Sony Vegas? How many gigs on your computer? I have 2 gigs and my hd videos play slow unless I render. But I don't want to render just to edit. Reviewing is fine, but to edit would take forever. Suggestions? When I play videos from my HDD it's fine. But HD are so slow

  • @CALICOTV301 You should definitely get some more RAM. I have 8 gigs, it really helps when it comes to HD video.

  • @darkpivotstudios WOW! Thanks a lot! I couldn't figure out the conundrum to save my life! You're a life saver

  • do you use imovie to edit?

  • i need a camcorder to make a film like cloverfield

  • @thaBoomDocta Bet no one has ever thought of that one.

  • @thaBoomDocta wow i was thinking the same thing lol

  • Comment removed

  • wow this is AMAZING quality! unbelievable. i want this XP

  • Comment removed

  • Is this and the Canon HFR100 the same thing? Or is a different thing?

  • @AnnaDalen I believe the only difference is that the R100 doesn't have built in memory and the R10 does.

  • Wow this video sold me on this camera. I'm getting it!! Definitely.

  • This video sold me this camera @_@

  • @TheMigzP Dang, maybe I should work for canon advertising! :P

  • @TheMigzP me 2 i'm trying to figure all the features out now :)

  • I'm going to get this camera after alot of debating and comparison, but I have one quick question I need answered.. I know that during auto focus there's a barely audible mechanical noise, and I don't really care about that, BUT I would rather use manual and I need to know whether the manual focus uses the lens to focus.. I mean, when you're trying to focus on something far away or something close in manual, do you turn the lens or do you buy need to buy lens or do you use zoom(which I've tried

  • @horsefreak129 *continued* on a digital camera, which I know is different, but I wasn't able to focus it that way and I would need lens to turn..) or what? That's my question, how do you focus in manual? (:

    Thanks in advance!

  • @horsefreak129 There's a little joystick-like knob on the side of the swivel screen which you use to change the focus. Unfortunately it only goes at one speed I believe.

  • your kid is so CUTE!!!

  • @TheRandom4muzik That's my brother haha. I'm 15 :P

  • @darkpivotstudios I'm 13 lol

  • Do You Shoot Music Videos? I'm Interested In Working With You, I Like Your Work.

  • @KMcraeMusic I do action films. I've never done a music video.

  • @MissKuriosity For audio, I recommend an external audio recorder like the Zoom H1.

  • what fps does this camera have?

  • @jaern22 24, 30 and 60

  • @darkpivotstudios thank you for the quick reply, is lagria and vixia the same?

  • do you think this is worth the money?

  • Did you use Vegas to import from the camera to your computer?

  • where did you buy this? amazon?

  • how did you letterbox it?

  • @TheOtherPlum i'm pretty sure it's all in the editing program

  • does it record to a file that is hard to import to editing systems?

  • @2timesurvivor93 It's a .mt2s, and it imports find to Sony Vegas for me, not sure about others.

  • i heard that it makes a weird internal sound while recording, is that true?

  • @101MissCali It's almost inaudible. You can barely even hear it in a quiet room.

  • pretty

  • it looks awesome for only $300!!!

  • is the vixia r20 better than this camera?

  • I'm really glad you showed some color correction to compare the image..... It just makes me realize there's so much more than can be done with the camera. I don't particularly love the video look, but with color correction - the way you did it too, it looks beautiful. so yeah.... thanks :)

  • how to get the cinematic look? those black bars? do you just strech it?

  • People who are commenting on this video are so fricken stupid.

  • whats sony vegas? a settings in the camera?

  • @NicoleTiana Sony Vegas is the video editing software I use.

  • is the manual focus easy to do?

  • @iWames It's a little limited. It is a small joystick-like thing on the preview screen, and it only goes at one constant speed. It is fairly easy though.

  • How did you do the color correction?

  • this may be a stupid question but is the R11 better than the R10 video quality wise?

  • is the camera shakey?

  • @simulation17 It all depends on how you hold it. It also has a built in stabilizer which helps a little bit.

  • @darkpivotstudios thanks, how did you get your video to have that color effect?

  • @simulation17 Color curves tool in Sony Vegas.

  • Caruso ?

  • @PedrOxt2 AHHAHAHAHAHAA when he was young and No chris

  • @paulomoura2 That's right!

  • What software are you using to add the cinematic effect and the color correction?

  • 0:38

I can hear the swing screaming! ouch!! ouch!! please get off of me please ouch!!

    just kidding nice video :)

  • dude, i have this same camera and i cant get the same quality u have, also i set the camera to 24fps and when import them in my PC they say it was recorded at 29fps, do uhave the same problem?

  • @FluvioSeries I can't say I do, sorry. :/

  • @FluvioSeries It's complicated, long story. Something to do with pull down pull up something like that.

I believe the idea is that in order for it to be compatible with normal HD playback devices (tvs), what they do is spread the 24 frames over 60 fields per second. 2 fields make up a frame. But unlike what you see in the dslrs typically, the temporal resolution is 60. Each field is an interlaced half of the scene, and each field is 1/60th of a second different in time.

  • @FluvioSeries That's why camcorder video looks smooth. I personally do not like the whole 24 fps. I think it's a religion and the arguments for it makes no sense. 60 fps looks silky smooth. Panning and large moving objects look much much better with that time resolution. 30 fps already looks much worse, motion wise, and 24 fps is flat out horrible. I'm not buying this "film feel" argument at all.

James Cameron agrees with me by the way.

It's my beef against the 24fps religion.

  • @a1mint It's all a matter of opinion. Honestly, I can't stand watching videos in 60fps, it's just too smooth for me. I really don't know why.

  • @a1mint Hahaha, thanks man , but i think 24 fps look more cinematic:P thanks a lot btw

  • @FluvioSeries Anyway, yes, you can reconstruct 24 fps video back from that 60i stream. A normal video editor will recognize this 3:2:3 2:3:2 whatever (something like that) encoding, and you can then edit video and produce clips and re-compress in true 24 fps avi, wmv, mp4, whatever format.

But wwwhhhyyyy though? 24 fps, chunky, clumsy, choppy, argh!

  • oh so u have a pc? im getting a mac.. do you know if it works with a mac?

  • @TheLegowave7 I'm sure it does.

  • was the software uploaded fast? and was it easily edited?

  • @TheLegowave7 I just plug in the camera, go into it's folder, drag and drop the files I filmed into a separate folder on my desktop. Then I drag them into Sony Vegas and edit them normally. Simple as that.

  • did you have any troubles uploading this? i really want to get this camera.

  • @TheLegowave7 No trouble uploading.

  • i just bought the same camera, how did you get the color correction?

  • What did you use for the color correction?

  • If you used the sony HDR CX110 what would you pick this over it?

  • @Theaflip120 They seem about the same to me, but I'd pick the Vixia because it has an external microphone/headphone jack and it has more manual features.

  • @darkpivotstudios you just convinced me to get the vixia over the handycam :D thanks.

  • @Theaflip120 Oh ok because I'm trying to decide on what to pick so I guess I will pick this. Other then video game editing I want to start doing real life editing. How is the picture quality on this?

  • @Theaflip120 About as good as it is on all of my live action videos. :P

  • @darkpivotstudios Haha. Then I take it that its really good then. I think I made my mind up then. I'm getting this.

  • What did you use for the color correction?

  • Dude. is their a mic imput? and is there a focus. or is it all autofocus?

  • @areyocrazy2 Well if you were to watch the entire video you would see I use manual focus. Also, yes there is a 3.5mm microphone jack.

  • @darkpivotstudios im sorrry :(

  • @areyocrazy2 :P It's fine.

  • Thanks for posting your video. Because of videos like yours, I purchased the same camera. It is simply awesome.

  • how do you do color correction? and how do you manual focus?

  • Could you please put a tutorial about the effect you have done ?

  • @H4wN4 What effect exactly?

  • @darkpivotstudios all the ediiting, please

  • Is this the mic from cam?

  • @HOLLISKID23 Yes

  • SOMEHOW

MY VIDEO DOES NOT TURN into MTS but MPL

:( ..... AHH i really want this to work..

  • thanks! and where is the manual focus? i cant find it

  • anyone know if you can capture the video from the hf r10 directly into final cut express or does it have to be converted? im really considering buying this camera

  • When I put my videos onto my computer, they look awful, choppy, and the sound gets choppy. I don't understanddd

  • how do i get this onto movie maker?

  • I just got this camera today for Christmas and I am having a hard time transferring my video from the camera to my pc. how did you do it?

also what editing program did you use for colour correction?

  • is this compatable with mac? it says the software isnt and it goes to mts but is there any way to change that without converting it!?

  • @troyandchadification I don't even use the software, I just plug in the camera, open the folder and take the mts files out. Those files should be compatible with mac, but I'm not sure.

  • any one know how to get it onto After Effects?

  • @WorksProduction First I put it in my editing program (Sony Vegas), then I export the clip I want to add effects to as an AVI, then import that clip into AE.

  • @darkpivotstudios hmm but doesnt sonyvegas ruin the quality of the vid?

  • @WorksProduction Not if you render it correctly.

  • have you had any problems with noise coming from the camera's hardrive into the audio?

  • @darkpivotstudios ok. thanks!

  • OMG THAT IS FREAKISHLY SMOOTH!

  • Does this have a input where i can plug in a mic ?

  • @PhillyBangz Yes, there's a 3.5mm microphone jack. There's also a 3.5mm plug for a headset.

  • When you say "color correction added" do you mean that is a mode in camera, or you did it in post-processing! thanks/cheers.

  • @RiDe4EvEr1122 I don't know about any of the other cameras you listed, but this one does not have slow motion. It does however have the ability to shoot in 60fps, which can easily be slowed down quite a bit in post.

  • I just got this camera for my b-day i didn't know that it has a lot of cool stuff.... I need to read the manual tho!! LOL

  • @fabitapunk Well then happy birthday! :D

  • Do you know if you can use letter boxes in After Effects? If so, how do you use them?

  • @10203040zxc Just crop the video a bit vertically.

  • @darkpivotstudios How do you crop in After Effects?

  • @10203040zxc

I bought at Best Buy for $299(sale) a few weeks ago!

  • what program did u use

  • Where can you get this camera?

  • @10203040zxc Just Google it. You can get it at Best Buy, that's where I got mine.

  • @10203040zxc Best Buy has it on sale right now for $499!

  • @chrisknappER

I bought mine at BB for $299 a few weeks ago!

  • @entrrt Very very nice deal! You got lucky! :P

  • do you upload it with a usb cable or firewire?

  • what I do to record normal video and not HD, I need help

  • Hey everyone, check out my latest video. It's a nice little action short. (It also uses this camera).

  • Can someone tell me how to access the "night" mode option on this camera? Is it automatic? For the life of me, I can't find any setting for this.

  • @peterpulpitpounder You mean like night vision? This camera doesn't have any kind of night vision mode. If you mean just a low light mode, I don't think it has that either. Just experiment with the settings.

  • @darkpivotstudios just bought this today and it does have night vision.

  • @ghostbudda What!? I've had this camera for a long time and I've never seen night vision on it. Are you sure it's the HF R10?

  • @ghostbudda yes its th hf r10. the guy selling it to me at best buy showed me.

  • @ghostbudda How do you access it then?

  • @peterpulpitpounder

I know for a fact that this camcorder has a Night Mode, but I unfortunately have no idea on how to reach it. Try the user manuals :-D

  • Hi

Does this camera have manual focus options? Can you achieve a fairly shallow depth of field with it?

  • @kauxkaux It has manual focus, but can only get a good Depth of Field if you stand very far back and zoom in all the way.

  • How much does this camera cost?

  • @10203040zxc Around $400-$500.

  • @darkpivotstudios Thanks, I might get it.

  • The tripod-steady cam eh? haha check out the Cinecity shoulder mount for like 160 ish? Im gonna get it soon, but it is wicked awsome for its price range. Have fun lads

  • yo, i was wondering how you get the videos to come out in 1080p? i have the same camera but my vids only have to option for 720p. please advice, thanks

  • @monstermike48 Go into the menue on the camcorder and try there, if that is set to 1080 then maby its your sofware editor (unaable to process it, or maby set to it on default I dont know your particular configurations) but thats usualy what it is.....

  • What editing software do you use for this camera? I cannot find anything that supports the HF R10's weird file format.
