  • Very cool! I love the knife and you have skills!

  • you the man

  • Pretty awesome would have liked to seen more details in the process. You also used a knife (Mora Bush knife) to make the knife....

Not exactly making a knife in the Bush if you bring everything from your garage!

  • @MarcViper i did follow the rule for the challenge,

    fredde

  • can you tell me exactly how you made it please im interested but i didnt understand how you did it

hehehe yeah, its not really my thing,

    thanks for comment

    fredde

  • Amazing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill with us.

  • How long is the tang on this knife, and how were you able to insert it into the wood handle? It looks like you heated up the tang and 'burned' it into the wood, but I'm not sure if thats thats what you actually did with it.

  • @GuyPyro87 Yeah.. a lot of steps were skipped, and I have no idea how certain things were done.

  • Are those Mora kninfes you use most of the time?

  • @SBPStudio yeah he is almost always using a mora.

  • Great Video Mate! Luved it!!!

  • Cool video, cool knife. I can't help but think that someday an archaeologist or a student will find that knife and assume it's much older than it is. LOL

  • Man you have what most people in America do not have today, COMMON SENSE! Thank you for making this video :)

  • @recon1s14

    thanks

  • @recon1s14

While I agree this is a very cool vid, this has nothing to do with common sense. This is a very specific set of skills and knowledge. And it's not just Americans who've forgotten these skills.

  • @CanItAlready That is true it's not just America, although Americans are spoiled beyond belief. But yes this is called using your brain, most people do not use it in this fashion. So this is then uncommon sense.

  • Mkt snyggt jobbat!

  • super duper!

  • superb, thanks for posting!

  • FREDDE MY FRIEND, AGAIN A GREAT BUSHCRAFT VIDEO! I GOTTA TELL YOU THAT IT´S A NEAT STRONG BUSH KNIFE YOU MADE YOURSELF BROTHER! AND YOU´RE REALLY SKILLFUL CARVING THAT WOOD! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO! I´LL TRY IT BUT I KNOW IT WONT LOOK AS NICE AS YOURS! TAKE CARE BROTHER!

  • Fredde, you have some serious skills.

  • Hobbexp I. Collectors item I think.

  • What tree did you get the metal from?

  • @MrIslandsweetskunk

    i find it on work,

  • @MrIslandsweetskunk metal doesnt come from trees

  • @Taheelur123 No but it does come from the ground, and from old mines etc :)

  • Great Job!

  • those are some amazing skills you demonstrate, really enjoy your videos!

  • Nice video! I just made a knife today! I used an old metal file. It worked great, they usually used good steel to make them. It was about 1/4" thick, and i left the handle as a file so I could use it as a multi tool. I used it after to sharpen my hatchet! I Think I am going to be making my knives in the future.

  • AWESOME!

  • That's Bushcraft :D

Great work fredde, superb video (as always). That's something I've never done (create a knife & sheath whilst out) and it's definitely something I'll try one day. Thanks for sharing.

    Ash.

  • EXCELLENT WORK MY FRIEND!!!!!!!

  • Nice job man, a lot can be done with some patience and imagination

  • you kick ass man

  • Excellent craftmanship on the wooden sheath. It locks-in the knife as well. I was impressed. Keep up the great work buddy. Thanks for sharing!

  • Great video again, Fredde! Let us know how well your knife withstands the wear and tear of every day use. Would like to know if you are still happy with it in two monhts. And... I do love the sheath as well. Could you do that part in more detail, you are combining several pieces of wood!

  • I think people really like the knife making because it is so

empowering. At least for this day an age.

:P that sheath was the bomb! Love watching your carving.

  • Wow you are amazing!

  • ★★★★★ツ

  • Excellent! You amaze me all the time with your skills to make things from any natural materials! Thanks for sharing.

  • Vilken skicklighet! Grymt. Var fick du bladet ifrån?

  • @bjorinn

i make it from a piece off steel i find at work, and i make the blade from it in the bush like you can see in the video,

    fredde

  • To know it can be done, and to see it can be done are two different things. Nice work Fredde.

  • @thanson77 that and it seems allot easyer and allot faster in the video :P

  • real fast knife :D

    Great job

  • Great Video man - something all of us should learn how to do!

  • You did a fine job and it looks great. What did you use to make the blade? I once made one out of a s-shaped peice of metal off the end of a railroad tie. I just didnt heat it.

  • @bindlestitch1

    thanks,

i take piece of steel from a trash pile when i working,

on a please wher they building new houses,

    fredde

  • True ingenuity. A true survivalist. How did you get the blade into the handle? It looked like you burned it into the handle. Could you send me some step by step instructions? Or maybe do a how to vid on this?

  • @Caveman0713

that is what i did, ( that you see in thte video) i burned it in,

  • @hobbexp but that means you had to reheat the tang a few times to get it to burn in deep enough to stay, right? I have tried to burn blades into wooden handles and they have all taken me a long time. Any tips?

  • never cease to impress me.

  • very impressive... where'd you get the blade?

  • @njhomie23

    i make it,

  • @hobbexp

    Out of what?

  • @Chatter107

i think you can see in the video what i made the blade from,

  • @hobbexp

It looks to me like a butter knife, or a flat spring, or a cutout of sheet metal, or an old piece of muffler, or a blade blank, or something else...? Am I right?

  • @Chatter107

just a piece of steel i get from my job,

  • Awesome.
