Someone told me that the LS4 was not a performance engine, rather it was just a truck engine in a car. That sounded odd to me that the 5.3L truck engine is actually a cast iron LH6 engine, while the GXP has an alloy "LS"4. But beyond that, if the engine was not intended for performance, why make it out of alloy and put the signature "LS" code on it? LS is a performance series. This made me mad. Any comments?

@AliveThroughChrist7 Its kind of a performance motor... ls6 corvette casting heads, and it will take an LS series cam. The crank was shortened by 3cm I think to make it fit in the FWD. I have a 2007 GXP, a modded 98 GTP, and a 2000 2dr GT... Love them!

@AliveThroughChrist7 Well...when you take a motor meant to move a Suburban and stick it in a mid size car..I'd say thats performance lol.I believe the LS4 has reverse cooling also.

@chazly543 web site is (slponline) the exhaust is sold through 97-03 grand prix 3800v6 (mine are with trapezoid tips. fits nicely with minor re-drilling of larger holes for the bolt pattern that connects to V8 down pipe and install short pipe of 2.5'' extensions at the end where the trapezoid tips are due to I just didn't like the way it tucked to far into the bumper.

GXP has the 5.3L LS4 V8 and still front wheel drive, the GTP has the L67 supercharged 3.8L V6

yea its most likely the tires you get that problem alot with the new cars especially when its cold or if you have low tire pressure
