Oh, how I'd love to have Jeeves as my personal Valet! Very enjoyable show! Oh, and I would like to mention how exceptionally gorgeous Stephen looks in those clothes:)
Hey Wolf...thanks a ton for W & J...the entire lot..I've been a PGW fan for almost forty years now...r u a member of da Jeeves club ? laff...ty again...
@Medication102 A valet serves his master directly, unlike a butler who serves the household. This means that Jeeves has to attend to Bertie at all hours, so he stays in the servants quarters. Jeeves is a valet, "a gentleman's gentleman", but Bertie has lent him out on occasion to perform butler duties. "When it comes to butlers" Bertie says, "Jeeves can buttle with the best of them.".
Thanks to Christopher Hitchens, and even more thanks to the great Douglas Adams, for introducing a simple product of the American education system to P.G. Wodehouse.
The pretend-soup was distracting. They couldn't have mixed up something vaguely soup like for those poor actors to use instead of their imaginations (and ours). Really, ITV...
But, oh, I love my Jeeves and Wooster. Thanks for uploading.
I love how Jeeves just pushes the umbrella out of his way when he goes to get their coats. And those little comments that pop up on the screen are hilarious-thanks for posting this!
I watched this English drama because Stephen Fry was in it. At the beginning, I find it rather unusually funny. Down the middle, it gets exciting but quite dull. But at the end, I get the whole of the story's point.
Never marry someone you do not really in love to and have a good friend or a 'butler' to simplify your life. Good drama.
The actor playing Bertie is a virtuoso. It takes genius to portray that level of idiocy.

@HaleyPfifer AND Sherlock Holmes, just for good measure (or perhaps Poirot would be more time-line appropriate)

@Medication102 Valets in those days roomed with their masters like any other servant, but was also given an annual leave for a few weeks.
