I met Ron Silver in Auckland, New Zealand when he came to train in Latin percussion, he was a great guy, friendly, cheerful, a very nice guy with whom I shared fun moments and good conversation. I am so happy to have met him, such a Hollywood figure, I feel priviledge, and I was so shocked and sad to learn that he has died. My good friend Ron, rest in peace, the world has lost a great guy!

I had seen this interview a few months ago. It seems all the more poignant now.

He was so articulate and intelligence. I can't think of too many celebrities who could hold my interest like Ron Silver could. He will be missed very much.

I hate it that Silver died but I hated "The West Wing" and many of Silver's political views were skewed. He supported Bush in the war effort. He was also a CFR member.
