the body. The movements are not as important as the mind/intention. But nontheless do have an effect. And postures/alignments/structure has an effect as well. But it is the intention that powerful and the movements are merely vehicles to focus on. Twisting is key. Raising and falling is key. Empty and full is key. These are manifestations of energy use or power or imparting Qi. This is how masters inflict great power to adversaries. Your making much more of QiGong then is there. joe

  • Your thinking much too hard for your own good Philip. Everything is energy. Matter is energy condensing, light energy expanding. Energy in the body is moved by intention Yi Mind. It does not matter where the enrgy highways run so long as the energy gets to the correct destination. And the universe is perfectly efficient so logically it will take the efficient route. The hands/body are surrounded by electromagnetic field. Energy above is +. Below is -. Using our hands we pull energy over/through

  • Is Qi Gong China's home grown yoga?

Meditation and movement produce both Prana and Chi, different words from each culture for the same felt phenomena.

We are all one despite the illusion of difference.

  • All external movements are not real Chi Kung. One of the reasons is that all movements need to stimulate the brain cells in releasing electric signal to body muscles for contraction and relaxation in order to make movements.

That means the brain cells are still working during the training, and Not relaxing.

This is an exercise or slow GYM, but not Chi Kung.

    Philip

  • Can you explain what real chi kung is? Thanks!

  • Hi Secongaplai Thanks for your question ! I hope 18Hands don't mine I write something for you. Havn't you visit my site ? Some information may be useful for you. Actually, I wrote once on other site about this. Just for sharing again.. Chi Kung was created by whom or where it came from. I think noone knows today. Chi Kung is our chinese thousands years Wisdom. There are two Ancient books regarding about healing which was written down in few thousands years ago. Cont..
  • These two books named 皇帝內經 , 靈樞 which were stored in our Great Palace (Now: National Palace Museum) in Beijing only and not for public.

They are treated as great treasure !!!

Our Palace internal chinese doctors must learn them in order to take good care of our Emperors (King) in this few thousands years.

If our King had anything wrong, the internal chinese doctors might lose their life.

  • The spirit fr the books indicates that: When all the medicine and Acupuncture could not work on our king. Our King must follow some concepts to train himself for owning healthy again. The concepts are: To train internal silent ; Standing silently alone ; forgetting all the things inside the heart ; Whole body muscles united ; Breathing wonderful like without breathing. The body will get healthy again gradually. You can know that these concepts are the foundation on Chi Kung.
  • Ofcourse, we can not confirm Chi Kung in the development was created by our Great Chinese Doctors but these are worth to be believed.

So.. As what I wrote, all movements are exercises only or Martial Art, but not Chi Kung

    Healthy

    Philip

  • Hi Philip,

Thanks for your very detailed respond. This will take me plenty of time to study.

I have been practice martial art movements for more than 35 years, plus breathing exercises. But I have never gotten into any fight! All just for good health.

These days I find that "no fight" is the best way to stay safe and alive.

    Thanks again and good luck!

  • Hi Secongaplai

Martial Art is not only for Fighting and Combat, this is only an narrow thinking.

It is the TAO, a philosophy, a Road of Life ..etc

Body health is the most important thing in MArt.

And, you know one of the greatest Wisdom - "no fight' , 'Peace', 'People live harmoniously together' as same as the Martial Art Giant Morihei Ueshiba.

    Wonderful !

    Philip

  • I think one reason to develop Qi Gong with movement is to ease up understanding of a difficulty art. I have heard stories of practice gone wrong which causes permanent brain damage and other tragic endings.

So to make it a bit funnier, Qi Gong practioners want to be fit, too :).

  • Hi Linken84

    Qi Gong is/was simple.

It is somewhat like sleeping during the perceiving.

Do Sleeping cause permanent brain Damage?

People's mind is/was complex, and somehow do not want to trust the truth on Qi Gong. Then to develope what they believe was truth was the problems which made the GI Gong practice going wrong. Because, Gi Gong practiitioners nowadays are at the situation as same as 3 - 4 hundreds years ago what European believes that the World was Flat and with boundaries

  • This was the reason why the Europeans were afraid to take sailing on the sea in few hundreds years ago. Because over 99.9% of them believed their ships would sink approaching the Earth's boundary.

So that, people who interested in Gi Gong learned the wrong methods or even totally on opposite direction in learning. I can surely know they cause permanent brain damage or others tragic endings because learning wrong things.

    Cont.

  • Here , I would like to tell you that the reasons why the Gi Gong practitioners are learning wrong methods.

    I) The real one is too simple. They do not want to trust.

II) They want to make Gi Gong special or somehow difficult to understand by using Traditional Chinese Five Elements Concept. This was rejected by our MArt and Gi Gong Giant Wang Xian Zhai.

III) It is about " Money ". If the real things is too simple. how to make earnings?

    Cont..

  • At last, fm my point of view only,

    Swimming is much more Fun.

    Why learning Gi Gong?

Gi Gong is not for fun !!!!

As what you said, it is about Human beings' life or death.

Please take it as one of your life's serious concern and considerations

    Good development and Healthy

    Philip

  • Hi Philip. Very insightful point of view! I suppose you've been doing Qi Gong for a very long time in order to reach this conclusion. As someone new to this type of training, I can't gauge what the true form is, but I hope it is indeed like you said "simple like sleeping".

On the other hand, I wonder if ancient masters were able to achieve Qi Gong to the point that they master every flow throughout the body to create a more detailed, down to every major blood vein method, that'd be interesting!

  • Hi Linken84

Many thanks for your appreciation !!

In ancient concept, ancient masters believed there are 20 rivers(at least) inside the body as a large network, and the energy would like water in flowing from one river to others.

That means, they needed to train to flow one by one.

    However, this is wrong again.

Actually, How about the new concept by using good and right methods to train the 20 rivers at the same time !

  • In modern concept, there are many different kinds of energy inside the body (blood flowing, heat, heart wave impulse..etc), on the surface of the body (heat, potential electric energy..etc), and outside the body ( the universe, the natural - Light energy; Wind energy).

We need to have (the united) all these energy(s) for stepping into a new generation in Qi Gong in order to break through the gate of the new region in Qi Gong which nobody achieved in the past.

    Healthy

    Philip

  • ........

  • thanks for the upload ^ ^

  • Very detailed instruction! Perfect postures, beautiful presentation!

  • Don't let the jerks get you down. Thanks for putting a preview of the DVD up so we could see it before we buy it.

  • for a free hands on demostration please visit our school anyday during the week.

  • nope more marketing

  • how about more instruction and less marketing.:)

  • Why don't you buy the dvd. People like you want to learn without paying. Can I take several classes for free at your school? Didn't think so. Master Liu Xiao Ling is a true master and very humble for someone of his very advanced development. There are certainly greedier masters here in the USA who charge over $50 for 1 dvd and up to $150.00 PER WEEK for training. You sound like just another hater who is jealous. Practice QiGong and get a life.
