@henryparkour they are component cables, theres no such thing as avi cables, your thinking of av cables/composite cables, component cables arent able to record 1080p but can record in 1080i or 720p, which look just about the same as 1080p

HDMI is gust a lead and port you play in 1080p with HDMI Cable...

With the AVerMedia you play in 1080i with this because of the component cables witch is gust the same as play in HD with the HDMI cable..

I Play my xbox with the component cables all the time and its like playing in HD gust without the HDMI cable..

@Yertz1 A capture device has nothing to do with a connection. It your experiencing lag it's a frame rate drop issue due to how many sources your inputs go through before going to your tv. Keep in mind some digital tv's don't have what it takes to keep up with the frame rate of current games. My friend got pretty pissed when he went to show of his hd tv and I basically bursted his bubble when I tried to put in 1080p and it was out of his tv range. Poor idiot payed 500+ for shit.

Sounds good but not really that impressive most HD PVRs can record without software and to DVD which you can stick in your computer anyway but I guess using a Memory stick and drive is a step in the right direction.

What was with the audio? The sound of shooting was coming from the opposite direction to where the shooter was. By that, I mean through my headphones, the sound of gun fire was from the left ear but no one was there, the guy shooting was to the right. (Yes, I have my headset on the right way)

Found a portable hard drive which is bang for your buck. For the coinvienance of not having to have a pc near by means that having something like this is a lot better than having a small memory stick that could hold from 1 game to about 8 games. Buy one of these and it can record a thousand. Its a lot cheaper than a 2.5" drive, 1TB of portable hard drive for £90. Bargain! Go search for them on ebuyer, pc world and see what is good for you! Never run out of space, play more, more fun!

720p is better that 1080i, but 1080p is better that 720p again (1080 uses 30 frames, 720p and 1080p uses 60 frames and looks better)

So use 720p instead of 1080i!!!

1080i isnt that good for fast paced games i.e call of duty as you can see from the demo; if you are playing on a high sensitivity you will see lines in the recording so its best to record in 720p for cod and other fast paced games.
