This is a unique live performance. Peter Lindgren and Michael Akerfeldt have both stated before that "The Night And The Silent Water" is their least favorite Opeth song. Looks like their opinion of it has changed.
According to his bio on Opeth. com, Mikael actually thinks that TNatSW (live) is one of their best. I guess he just wasn't happy with the album-version. It's my fave track off of Morningrise after Black Rose Immortal, so I'd agree.
