Im jeaoulus of your hair, my hair is the same color and same length, but it wont curl nomather what I do, even the people at the saloon coulnt curl my hair. heh, which is stupid since Im loving retro hair,
Fantastic, thanks for all your videos, they're clear and really easy to follow with great results. I always look forward to them. Keep up the good work!
...after you took your hair out in the beginning (:48)...is how mine looks everyday! So I guess I have it somewhat easy with this style...and to think that I believed my curls were a curse.
here goes my question you said in the video that you pin curl your hair in wat direction did yo curl them? lol and was your hair alittle damp? is there a product you used on ur hair before you pin curl it???? sooory for all these questions lol but you are awsome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See my pincurling video 'Poifect Pin Coils' Unless I specify othewise, I usually use that pincurl setting, including for this style. The pin curl video also gives you tips on product and hair dampness. I do use setting lotion now, and I didnt in that video. It is Lottabody setting lotion and I dilute it four parts water to one part setting lotion. GOod luck!
I think I'm going to use this hairstyle or something close to is for my halloween costume. I love your tutorials. Thank you so much for helping me find my inner pin-up ;) Hugs from CO.
I am becoming an addict to your videos!!! Unfortunately I have long hair with a lot of layers and most of your hairstyles feel almost impossible to do!! If i didn't look like such a dork with shorter hair I would chop it all off to make these hair styles easier!!
I may be in heart with you. I'm gay so I can say that and not be creepy, at least I hope I can. :P In all seriousness though, you're totally cookin' on the front burner. Best 1940s look ever on a modern gal. Mad props, mad props.
Hmmm, what do you mean my 'they won't stay'? Do you mean your bangs or the roll? If you are just having an issue keeping your bangs off of your face, don't fight it. Work with it. Wear them down. ;)
That would be Katherine Whalen from The Squirrel Nut Zippers. She sounds alot like Billie Holiday, doesnt she? I"ve always loved her. She sings lead on alot of their songs but the guys sing too and I love their take on dixieland jazz.
Will this stay in while dancing? Or how could I make it stay in? It seems I am always having to fix it. Like my bobby pins don't secure the twist on the lighter side very well. Also, what kind of hairspray do you like best?
Only use pins on the roll...if you pin inside the barrell of the roll, it should work just fine. Also, using a pinculr set will really help since the hair seems to be a bit 'stiffer' and able to adapt to the shape you form with it. On the lighter side of the part, use a comb...it will definitely stay. And if not, combs are easy to re-insert. I really like Aussie Hi Hold + Hi Shine spray. Makes your hair shiny like a pomade and holds great...
You do rolls so quickly! It takes me ages, to get them nice and smooth and whatnot. I have long hair, and slightly layered so I always get wispy bits coming loose hehe
Practice alot and you'll see what method works better for you....also, using pin curls really does make your hair alot more pliant. It molds better, somehow.
I have long hair too and the same thing happens. Try applying some pomade/hair wax to the section you're rolling so all the hair stays together while you roll it.
I want Pearl's satiny ankle strap flats!

probably a silly question, but when using foam roller on this hairstyle, Do you roll up or under in the front? :D
jmt1000000 2 years ago
I would roll upwards where the roll is going to be but down everywhere else. You could also use hot sticks!

I feel bad for asking this on all your videos, but what are the songs? This look is really pretty and flirty, by the way. :)

I have placed annotations on all of my videos, I think. Go back and check the annotations and if it doesnt tell you the song titles, let me know. :)
