@dukethewahala They made a pretty good change in 05 and a great 1 in 2011. 1st time i would ever say yes.between a new mustang and a new Camaro. i would be a struggle to pick. as the new mustnag is as fast on tracks with turns as a M3 another car i own and love.

@dukethewahala well get your head out of your ass & into a 32 valve mach 1 or S/C cobra. my mach has run down my brothers SS with equal mods more than once. the 32 valve responds better 2 mods than a heavy ass pushrod motor, & has better running gear all around. big difference in quality inside & out when its not a production line GT which were junk untill they got the 5.0 32 valve

@svbummin hey now lets no make fum of push rod motors . both the z06 and Zr1 are push-rod. A ls1 fbody stock for stock or mod for mod will normally run close times to a Mach or a Cobra . I have tested it enough to know for sure ; ) . Most the time i found the ls1s to be faster .Or at least mine to be .I Like cobras . i like Mach 1s more lol

@boondocksaint18 well the 32 valve is a little more advanced, but a pain in the ass 2 work on & more expensive 2 mod compaired 2 a nice simple push rod motor. you'd think the 32 valve being fords performance go 2, they'd have the bugs worked out before the mach, but its not true. there a SVT hand build & still had issues with timing & a couple design flaws. resulting in factory freaks swinging 30hp in either direction. buddies mach ran 297rwhp stock, but it was off a dynojet

@svbumminMost Ford and Gm performance cars had freaks . not just cobras and machs . My ls1 dynoed good but it was no ls1 freak.f.Push rod motors a simple time tested monsters. Thats why when you go to to local drag strip . 9 out of 10 fastest cars are old push rod engines. Im not saying there the best. they just have over 60 years of mods ready and waiting .Besides in my races it was there stock/lbolt on vs my stock trim. and i raced more then 1 to give those freaks a chance to show lol.

actually no the ls and lt are diffrent motors well they are both 5.7 but one is the older version(lt) and one newer (ls) also the

also the ls1 aluminum block and heads opposed to the lt1 cast iron block and the ls1 comes with lil more hp and tq and im pretty sure the ls 1 makes better mpg if it matters ha =P

and ls is the newer motor its kind of like in honda terms B18A1 and the B18B1.

exp Supras 1jz and 2jz models

, Camaro z28s, L98,lt1,ls1,etc

.Honda K20,F20,H22 or b18 if you be hella slow(without mods) etc.

This is a z28 Camaro with the factory Ls1 346 c.i 5.7 aluminum v8 . more commonly just referred to as a ls1 z28 ...

93-97 z28,SS,Formula,Firehawk and trans am had lt1

4th gen fbodys did not have different engines for the SS

. I have a 1995 lt1 trans am . (video uploaded on here ).

@sctflasher379 No dude. SS and Z28s both have the LS1 from 98+ The only difference between an SS and a Z28 is that an SS have the Ram Air hood(Z28 does not) and the SSs spoiler flips up at the tip(Z28 spoiler is completely flat.) Get your stuff right before you try to correct someone.

Truth be told here rather then the bullshit being spoken. After owning bolt-on mustangs starving to run 13's spending lots of cash, I felt pretty embarrassed when every LS1, not LT trim, Ive come across almost always beat be by good distance, I bought my 1'st 1998 Z28/LS1 Auto trim, I couldn't believe the results, Freaking scary screaming monster & very fast. So unless you can afford 03+ Cobra or Mach1, LS1 Is King. I do still love mustang, but cant deny solid results. Tight fit but fast@6'2

@Andy1396003 cant speak for bottz . But when i made this video my 98 z28 was a stock trim .auto GU3 package . On falcon z rated street tires . best stock time was a 13.23 very cold dry morning at beach bend Kentucky at the end of the season in 2007 . Normally it ran 13.3s 13.4s

As far as the 5.0 vs 6.2. The 6.2 is a basic push rod motor cheap and easy to modd. the 5.0 is not. its using tech that BMW used in the 80s to make a 2.5 4 cyle M3 evo motor make 300hp N/A. Good stock power.

well seeing how a normal 99-04 gt has around 265 crank hp and 302 crank ft.lbs and run 14s and my car ran a 13.23 bone stock. Never ran it at the track. 13.23 for a stocker is fast though, especially a 98. If I had to guess I'd say around a 13.4-13.5; thats a total guess tho

yea those new gt's actually do run pretty decent i raced my buddies 05 gt and he was walking me up to 100mph from a 40mph roll. i was at his rear bumper. he has full exhaust , cold ait intake, throttle body spacer, plugs and wires. my car has 30# injectors,3:73 gears, shift kit, 3" catback, stage 2 chip, and plugs and wires. my car has gone 12.80's at the track but oddly he recently ran a 14.0 but he was spinning 1st thru 3rd ;-/

cool i have seen a 2002 z28 100 % stock down to the tires with 22,000 miles run a 12.8 . but yea 1s like ares have to be modded to get those times .best time on record after my modds , lid-cut-out,MT ET streets ,150 NX kit (2x 75 shot stages ) and a 3400 rpm fuddle stall is a 11.80

it makes around closer to 500 with my set up Nitrous express kits are the best . its not a issue of tune its a issues of track condition .are track is used for out law class and pro street all the time . so its treated for true slicks and The Mt et street Drs i use don't hook very well even on only 1 stage .
