  • This is not the beginning of this film. The uploader SweeneyToddKicksAss edited it out. There is a scene before the opening credits where a young Margaret is with two boys in a field near the cliffs. He takes out the "F" words but puts "Ass" in his YouTube name. Makes perfect sense dosen't it?

  • @kimbaptise Why would I willingly take out a scene? Go buy it on dvd if you are that bothered. Prick.

  • @SweeneyToddKicksAss Well, well, well. I comeback to Youtube after a few days to find out the fact that sweeneytodd kicked my ass. Oh how I hurt so much.

  • One of my favorite films!! Thanks for uploading!! I'm a Cape Bretoner myself <3

  • I always like it when Helenas name pops up first - means we're in for plenty Helena scenes :)

  • Ahhhhh *excited jump up and down* thank you soo much!!!! You're a star :D

  • The opening music is so beautiful. And gets me giddy and geared up for staring at Helena <3

  • sweet thanks i actually doing this play at school an dhave to write an essay on this so thanks for the post i hope it helps me alot lol

  • BEAUTIFUL music, just a little too classical/trained

  • thank youuuuu!!!! I've been searching for this film for such a long time.. and then came to me the idea that it might be here aaaand there it ist because of you:)))) thank you very very much:)))

  • wow the first song is so beautiful (: usually i just skip to the movie... but not this time *dreaming*

  • i love helena, and i'm from cape breton, but so far, this movie seems totally lame. >,> i'm a macneil who hates bagpipes as well. LOL.

  • Helena=EPICLY AWESOME!!! i think that about covers half of how awesome she is :) lol

  • thank you I love this movie so much

  • If you mean what's the tune you hear at the start it's "Chi Mi Na Morbheanna" or "The Mist-Covered mountains of Home" (there's an article on it on Wikipedia). There's an excellent version by Talitha MacKenzie on her 'Solas' album). This tune was also played at the funeral of John F. Kennedy.

  • Me encanta esta pelicula!!! XD

  • It's also missing a scene at the start where Margaret is in a field as a child with a young boy, which is disappointing since I was the young boy.. haha

  • A friend of the family met HBC in a B&B while this was being filmed in our province. She says HBC came down the stairs with her hair in curlers.

  • Great movie and 1/2 my family is from Cape Breton and yes...it's a pretty good depiction.

  • Im from the place were this is filmed, Cape Breton. It does everything justice

  • I'd watch this just to hear "Chi Mi Na Morbheanna" in the opening credits. It's a sublime and haunting hymn of nostalgia for the old country.

  • @mannixisle Totally agree, i hear this everyweres. The rankin sisters do it well

  • I love this film - I still have the VHS copy.

  • Why is the first scene of the movie missing? It opens with the scene of the museum and the terrified woman running out of it.

  • It didn't include that scene on ym dvd unfortunetaly, it's a different region.

  • Interesting. I saw it on VHS, and it definitely began differently. I suppose the DVD is some sort of director's cut or something?

  • I think it was, yeah, I was just happy to have the film anyway lol.

  • thank you so muuuuch!!!!!!

    :DDDD

    lu!

  • No problem :)

    I don't sorry :(

  • @gallieman the opening song is Dhi Mi Na Morbheanna (Mist Covered Mountains) by The Rankin Family ...they're actually cousins of mine! :)

  • @ilovelovexo thanx much

    xx

    lola

  • @ilovelovexo Is the song written in Scottish Gaelic?

  • @Daan892 .Yes indeed it is.

  • @DunkeldWandrerer Thanks. For me, it's quite similar to Irish Gaelic so I just want a confirmation.

  • @Daan892 Yes it is, it's a traditional Scottish song about Scot immigrants' longing for their homeland

  • @ilovelovexo Honestly, it's very unnecessary for me to ask if it's Scottish or not. 1. This film is set in Canada; Scottish has more prominence in Canada, at least that's from what I observed (on the contrary Irish has more prominence in the USA) (correct me if I'm wrong). 2. this film features Scottish bagpipe!

  • @gallieman the song is Dhi Mi Na Morbheanna (Mist Covered Mountains) by The Rankin Family ..they're actually cousins of mine! :)

  • @gallieman imdb.com/title/tt0113774/soundtrack
