@vuklar One of my all time favourite conductors, I was bought up on his recordings and now can fully appreciate the insight he brings to music. Often criticised for slow tempi, but this was mainly towards the end of his very long career and I still much prefer composers such as Beethoven, Brahms etc to be played at a slower tempo than the mad rush you sometimes hear from inferior conductors who rob the music of all its beauty and poetry.
Klemperer is the only conductor I've ever heard give a convincing performance of this overture. This one is not quite as tight as his studio recording, but excellent nonetheless.

I think I prefer his studio and Wiener Philharmoniker recordings, I believe it's about the sound quality of this recording, not his interpretation.
