  • I had the good fortune of seeing him play in a living room in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when he was on tour with the Offspring. Just Frank, and his guitar, and a living room full of people. It was simply AMAZING.

  • Give em one for me.

  • Just randomly started singing this in the car this evening - haven't listened to it for at least a year. chris tt is a genius

  • Why swear so randomly and so much :/ it's funny in the song but it doesn't make this skinny boy hard...

  • @twowheelworld It's called passion.

  • @TheSarge21 well it just makes him look worse...i like the song but all the swearing and what not makes him out to be a bit thick

  • @twowheelworld Try listening to his songs, I'd say he's one of the best song writers this country has produced in a long long time.

Also, he's using the original lyrical content of that song, so blame Chris-TT, not FT.

  • @TheSarge21 not during the song, just when he's not singing...ahh it doesn't matter haha! let him swear i guess

  • @twowheelworld It's all apart of the English language ;)

  • @TheSarge21 Glad someone else who recognises Frank's talent on here!! Everything he does is utterly superb!!!

  • @twowheelworld As an Eton boy, he's anything but thick!!!!!! He's the most talented singer/songwriter we've got!! He's an amazing lyricist and live he's just outstanding!!

  • Take yah ban and shove it up your arse.

  • Fuck the Tories.

  • To you pro-hunters....what about the freedom of choice for the fox? Go hunt each other tossers

  • We always called them the cunts back in Somerset ;) (and now i'm working in London :(((( )

  • But the fox feels nothing... Its made of string. I dont think people would be nearly so worried if it were a little four legged car filled with chips.

  • lol what a fucking brilliant song! legends!

  • I still go fox hunting, i dont let Blair deny me that simple pleasure (fox hunting act was classwarfare plain and simple). But Frank turner is still a legend.

  • @98smithg and your a bastard plain and simple,

  • @jackbrom and your a facist, hitler was both of course and look what happended there. I guess we shouldn't hang out.

  • @98smithg actually im an idealist, that disapoints me i was looking forward to hanging around with you

  • @jackbrom I'm an idealist as well! i believe in the civil libertys and freedom of man above all else, a ban on hunting is an affront to my core ideals. So i guess we do have somthing in common after all.

  • @98smithg were bound to aggree on somthing, i dont think it should be banned but i dont support hunting either i just think everyone should be able to chose which ever.

  • i've never heard a song about this issue before, i really like it. ..the song not fox hunting.

  • You may all be complaining, but the fact is, you're the ones listening to this in the first place.

If you dont like it, DON'T listen to Frank. Let those who do like Frank listen to him in peace yeah?

  • fuck fox hunting, and fuck you.

    awesome song.

  • keep hunting, turner you guiche

  • im sorry, but i have to disagree with some of the points in this song, though i do agree with some, in my area the lakedistrict, our last local huntsman was a great man, and from the local area, infact ambleside, and from a local farming family, i myself am from an ancient local family, but i am working class, and did enjoy hunting, as are many supporters of our hunt, this song far too broadly labels all hunters as dicks, but this is likely to be only true in the south.

  • @commanderplyers But if you're hunting you're a dick regardless; there's nothing to discuss. Also lol'd pretty hard at you commenting about the generalisations made in the song, yet you state that only in the south hunters are dicks. Pretty hilarious really.

  • 'but erm, fuck them' BRILLIANT

  • LOL half and half. Nice song if a little pretentious.

Who wrote this the daily express?

  • This song speaks for itself. People are bitching about it because they know it rings true.

  • he's a posh boy from winchester and calls himself working class

  • @gregwalker1234 It's not written by him.

  • wanker!!!!

  • @trapper387 Cunt.

  • I listen to this song far too much, love it.

  • Fucking bastard cool song. Truths hurts guys good on you frank

  • More fox's are killed by cars than hunters, Most chickens are kept in buildings (even the freerange ones)

Fox hunting is a SPORT. nothing more. hunting with hounds is just dog fighting for posh people.

  • @badong28 All true what you say. But that does not make hunting right.

  • @badong28 All true what you say. But that does not make hunting right.

  • Foxhunting is a darn sight less cruel than shotguns, poison, trapping or gassing, whcih are the ways that are now used to exterminate foxes, animals which are of course legally vermin. If you are against foxhunting, you are either supporting cruelty to foxes or you are against farmers keeping chickens and by extension, chickens themselves.

  • @oetpay Your argument is retarded, fox hunting, i.e. chasing with dogs + horses is more humane than that of a bullet which kills the fox before he knows anything about it? Bah!

  • @Das0s do you know anything about shotguns, and the loads that are allowed to be used in them in Britain? they are not by any means instantly lethal. they cause infection and slow, lingering death.

objective science says this happens far more often with traps and guns.

also, what the fuck do you think dogs evolved teeth for? they kill pretty quick once they catch it. sure, the chase isn't pleasant. two weeks of gangrene unpleasant, though?

  • @oetpay no, i'm not an expert on british gun laws and shotgun loads, but two wrongs don't make a right, in this case being shooting the fox inhumanely and hunting them on horseback. Also at no point did I offer snaring or trapping as a humane alternative, and I disagree with the use of those also o.O Dogs having teeth and a hunting instinct doesn't justify the way that humans breed them and dispose of them when they're past their best, and of no use to the hunt.

  • @oetpay Even if hunters are protesting because they argue that hunting is the most humane way to kill foxes, why havn't they campaigned for a change in some sort of gun law? i.e. one that lets them kill a fox outright? It's not unfair to assume that fox hunters don't give a shit about how humanely the fox is killed, they just want to see it ripped to shreds in front of them and get off on it.

  • @Das0s yes, it is unfair to assume that. it's unfair to assume any generalisation about a group you admit you don't know. if you campaign to allow British law to give you solid slugs, because those would kill a man and to get a shotgun under British law, you just have to get a doctor to say you are who you are.

Foxes are vermin. they kill for fun. farmers need to keep them under control, and without foxhunting they'll do it with guns. it's not "your argument for it", it's their need.

  • @oetpay I'm sure there's a better alternative to shotguns than foxhunting. I mean, it's hardly an efficient use of time, money and horses.

And foxes are hardly vermin because they "kill for fun" (I think you'll find they kill for food, dear) I mean, by that reasoning foxhunters are all vermin, aren't they?

  • @Thewisedaz wow. or, you could actually read the law about vermin and know what the fuck you're talking about?

foxes kill more than they need to eat. we don't know why, to be fair, but it's a noted problem. if they break into a chicken coop, they kill a lot of birds, even though they only take one. they also hunt local wildlife. the population has to be kept under control for these reasons; hence, they are classed "vermin" and it is a duty to kill them - vermin, once trapped, cannot be released

  • @oetpay also, rabbits and magpies, 'cause they're vermin too. the argument over foxhunting is not "whether the foxes need to be controlled" - if you want to challenge a thousand years of agricultural knowledge, go for it - get some science that says they won't do damage. 'cause we've seen them, and they do.

otherwise, it's a matter of HOW to kill them, and short of tranquiliser guns and Controlled Atmosphere Killing, we can't do it "humanely", but we can do it "mostly humanely".

  • @oetpay which, of course, doesn't mean that doing it in red jackets and on horseback is "mostly humanely" - but chasing and murdering it with dogs is the best available option we can afford. take the sport out if you want, remove the poncy jackets and institute regulations about catching it as quickly as possible, but that's not what you're arguing for.

what you're arguing for is the ban, and the ban is inhumane.

  • @oetpay It has been observed that when undisturbed, foxes move all killed birds to a "store" for later consumption/ consumption by pack.

And there's no need to kill the foxes at all. Fences and ultrasonic devices have been shown to be far more effective than hunting.

  • @Thewisedaz the issue is still the same - you're saying we can't kill foxes, but we can allow chickens to be killed.

i live in the countryside and have lived on a farm before. i can say with certainty that they couldn't afford ultrasonic devices - and fences don't work.

a subsidy or something to fund deterrents would work as a solution.

like i said, it's about finding most humane - but the foxes do need to be controlled.

  • too true

  • Brilliant!

  • BRILLIANT. LOVE IT XXX

  • I think a lot of you have kind of missed the point of this song. Its not actually to do with whether or not fox hunting is wrong or right, its to do with the Countryside Alliance spending too much time defending fox hunting & not enough protecting the livelihood of those who live in the country.

  • @SomecallmeJack dont you get it? fox hunting is our way of life, we are protecting the rights of our poeple to do what they have done for centurys.

  • @98smithg Just because people have done something for a long time, it doesnt necessarily mean its right. Before the abolition of slavery, your argument was one of the ways people defended it. Dramatic comparison, but you get my point?

  • @SomecallmeJack Well i support slavery but i guess i get your point.

  • @98smithg Torture isn't culture.

  • Awesome song, and its really applicable anywhere in the world. Whether its fox hunting in England, or that unbelievably cruel seal hunt here in Canada. You know our Governor General gutted a seal and ate its raw heart? Representative of the Queen my Ass.

  • why do you have to dress up like twats to cull animals

  • I don't like marginilzation or animal cruelty, but have you never heard the adage, "you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar?" Your anger will only put off those you seek to speak to.

  • @cindyshealed Aye but try putting out a plate of honey and a plate of balsamic vinegar, that particular adage is complete bullshit :P

  • saw this linked on the brian may website. great lyrics. thanks.

  • This song is brilliant, totally inspired and the work of a genious! I LOVE it!! BTW yes I loathe fox hunter scum

  • I love this song against fox hunters

  • Brilliant!!! Brilliant!!!

  • What a viscous, awful, violent, song.

    It was perfect, and true.

    I fucking loved it.

Welcome to my personal list of heroes, sir.

  • "... and then he smears the blood on his daughter's head... and then he drags her back to bed"

Fair enough fox hunting's out of order... but to suggest all 'countrysiders' are keeping it in the family so to speak is out of order.

  • @killerqueen501 When does he say that about all 'countrysiders'? He's a country boy himself, hes just making a snide comment at hunting folk, the smallest minority of countrysiders.

  • So Frank says it like it is>>>thats awesome. Great 5***** !! Maybe one day they will understand and respect our innocent animals. We have to keep on spreading the word. c'mon ppl..............

  • Wow, this is really good.

Makes an excellent point/statement too, most songs today don't say anything. This one does, it's great.

  • Aaawh, this one is really sad, and Frank sang it beautifully <3

  • this guy is a genius

this is more punk than modern day punk

  • People this song has nothing to do with frank as he says at the start it was written by his friend

  • Ahhah. So its not his own song, and still he sang it beautifully.

    Frank Turner is ace (:

  • Shut up twat

  • i like it

  • He's from Winchester but he moved to London. Abd he's not rich now that he's got involved in music.

  • Mate, the song is a cover. He didn't write it, he isn't moaning. Secondly, people have always moved from rural areas to cities to get work, that's how cities become big cities. It's something you've got to deal with. Fox hunting isn't.

You have to remember that the point of this song is fox hunting, not the people moving to the country. Chris T-T, I believe, was jsut highlighting how the people who take part in the 'sport' aren't proper country folk, and actually make life harder for them.

  • @tomthegd its more about the incompetence of the 'countryside alliance' surely?

  • @tomthegd I would say the point of the song is the destruction of rural communities by successive governments with the fox hunting being more of an aside

  • If you actually listened to the whole song you'll know what its proper about. So just shu'up cuz Frank Turner is the top of the tops, he's amazing.

  • he is a lovely bloke and writes with such conviction, when he started touring he had no money at all and had no idea if he would 'make it', i couldnt care if he was born with a silver cock in his mouth, he is amazing! Judge him on his music not background, though i do get what you mean. Fucking James Blunt lol!

  • I'll have you know I went to a spiffing school

  • ah he isnt posh really, just a troll.

  • this song is the best thing i' ve ever heared. if everyone thought like frank then i'd ve ha

  • omg this is a piece of art :D

  • Oh my god this is one of the most brilliantly satirical songs by Frank Turner love the bit about smearing the blood on his daughters face Genius!

  • he's amazing tbh!

  • love this song, has so much relavance and meanin comin from the the heart of dorset

  • I love this song, especially with the emotion put into it by Frank. But i can't say i agree with many of the viewpoints. it's hard to take any of them seriously when such outlandish statements are made as pointed out. But a song is a song :-)

  • Firstly, Frank Turner did not write this song, Chris TT did.

Secondly, it isn't a problem with foxhunters, it's the countryside alliance who only cared about the ban on fox hunting, rather than issues such as local post offices closing and rural homes becoming ridiculously expensive, when this was what they were surposed to stand up against.

  • Agreed! :)

  • fox hunters and the country side alliance are one in the same. They don't care about house prices, pest control, culling, the miners strike etc because they are not the "country people born and bread" they are elitist scum who feel the need to re-affirm their importance by throwing there wealth at torturing foxes.

working class blood sports such as cock and dog fighting or badger baiting went with little fuss because they weren't romanticized through connections to land ownership and wealth.

  • YEAH

  • you fuckin yuppy's live in a different world it's you lot that are the ignorant twats!, and hitting on the cheap shots that are benefits and hospitals just shows it, FUCKIN INBREDS!

  • i take it that your comment was directed at me? firstly. im not a yuppie. secondly, yes i do live in a different world. its also a world that people, probably like yourself, decided to try and change without any knowledge of it what so ever. im ignorant to most peoples needs in the city but i definately dont try and tell them what they should and should not be doing. thanks

  • do you know how common this made you sound?

  • ur the twat mate

  • No one gives a flying fuck.

First of all he didn't write it...

    Secondly...I don't really have one.

Just listen to the song and enjoy it, or don't and fuck off back to fucking your daughter.

  • lol...

Just making a point, badly I know...but still.

I like this song because of the chords and meoldy :)

  • and i like the song and melody too. but do you realise how completely offensive it is to suggest that someone who goes hunting is the kind of person that sleeps with their daughter ?! there was well over a million people that marched in london and the majority of arrests were hunt sabs. and can you blame us for being angry. people who knew absolutely nothing about hunting tried to take our livelihoods away. did you bother to find out about hunting before you accused me of "fucking my daughter"?

  • I'm just rewording what it said in the song :P Chillax.

I know that some sort of control of foxes is needed, it's just the stigma that comes with hunting...red jackets, wealthy tories etc etc..

Don't take what youtube people seriously ;)

  • now im confused. you seem to be an intelligent individual and your prepared to regurgitate the same old anti hunt bollocks. you completely hit the nail on the head with the stigma thing. just wish people would bother to really find out about hunting before forming such strong opinions. thanks for being man enough to reply though.

  • I don't really think that you sleep with your daughter lol, I'm just jamming with ya's.

People will always form opinions to suit themselves or those around them, youtube just turns people in to douchebags.

The moral of the story is; FT is god.

  • its ok for you but im just pissed off cos i really liked the guy and now iv lost all respect for him! oh well, my favourite singer of all time is Morrissey and if you want to hear the perfect protest song then check out "Meat is Murder". look at us 2 chatting like buddies! we're an example to the world! join hands around the globe no matter what your views are. (apart from the ones that sleep with your daughters. thats just wrong!!)

  • Ahh, he didn't write the song though, I don't think he would agree 100% with it just because he's singing it...

Not a big fan of morrissey tbh but the best protest songs have gotta go to the King Blues, love em.

It depends...if your daughter is well fit....(joking, joking).

  • ahh jesus christ!! now iv got to look up the King Blues who iv never heard of and waste more of my life on here!! thanks for nothing!!

  • Yup, you do.

Ah they're great, you'll love em.

  • good call!! liking a lot. ta for that

  • Oh poor hunters, they're being stigmatized... Ok, here's what I know of modern hunting: it's about people with guns, shooting a defenseless animal, for profit and fun. They have no respect for life or nature. That's all anyone needs to know.

  • @slendersail have you ever even been to the countryside? your description of the modern hunter truly is a work of genius in its sheer ignorance. wen was the last time you actually did something to benefit the countryside? never? you should be thanking us for preserving our beautiful countryside and its wonderful wildlife.

  • @alecsevenalec get of your high horse. If you have anything to back up your believes you'd say them.

  • @badong28 dont quite understand wot beliefs you wud like me to back up but if you clarify then i will gladly try. thanks

  • @alecsevenalec abit late in the day but.... 'you should be thanking us for preserving our beautiful countryside and its wonderful wildlife.'

  • u blatently do

  • actually i dont. actually i work hard for a living, have never been in trouble wth the law, have never claimed benefit, have never stayed in hospital, and i dont think that iv cost ths government a penny. i just believe that hunting is right. and believe me when i tell you that i know about every possible alternative. thanks for saying that i sleep with my daughter. makes you a real big man!!

  • So you've never been to school? Never been to hospital, never used the post office, never used an public footpath. Bullshit, you're a lier.

  • iv done all the things you say, i was just trying to make the point that people who hunt are demonised really unjustly and the average hunt sab has basically contributed fuck all to this country. hope your well.

  • Again you're making a completly biased and untrue statement just to suit your veiw, my dad works as a doctor and he takes part in sabatoging hunts, would you say he has contributed in your words "fuck all to this country" No I thought not, in short you are wrong and do not have a chance of winning this argument.

  • i did actually say "the average hunt sab". having spent a lot of time with hunt sabs and been friends with a hunt sab for a long time i can honestly say that your dad, as a fully employed doctor, is not your average sab. cheers.

  • Anyone who actively sabotages that barbarism is a hero in my book.

  • liar?

  • "The unspeakable chasing the uneatable"

    Oscar Wilde.

Anyone who enjoys fox hunting does so because they are sadistic and cruel. They may also find it sexually thrilling as they are in a position of power about to end the life of a living creature. Like murderers and serial killers. Only watching a small living creature being ripped apart alive is not so frowned upon is it?

  • :) x

  • since when has tearing foxes appart been a career? or livelyhood?

  • ur right, tearing foxes apart isnt a livelyhood or career. unless ur a hound i suppose! looking after a hunt kennels is a livelyhood and a career however. and one that still continues. take care.

  • yeah but surely hounds get paid more as pets :) I know a few people who work in kennels and theyre all volunteers. However im sure there are people who do it as a career. Didn't think about that

  • would i be a working hound or a pet? think id prefer to be charging over the open countryside than be stuck in a flat in milton keynes!! thanks for your reply conan.

  • yeah i suppose so... I just think it's kinda ironic that in the inner cities aggressive dogs are becoming a real problem. But out here where dogs are taught to tear animals to shreds, there is no problem atall. Suppose it just depends on their upbringing and owners really

  • hahahaha "il kill you"

    fucking idiot

  • couldnt agree more, it was a stupid comment. but wen someone accuses a father of having sex with there daughter just bacause they believe in hunting then you cant blame me for getting a bit tetchy. and im not an idiot. hope your ok.

  • What fantastic irony, the people most likely to enjoy this utter rubbish would have been at the G20 Protests.

  • the songs called when the huntsman comes a marching... i think its safe to say at this point this its more about fox hunting than the countryside allience.

  • Great song! Love Frank Turner and this was the song that made me love him. I'm a country boy born and bred, so this really means a lot to me ...

I'm gonna stay away from the discussion about fox hunting because I don't think it's what the song is about. It's about the Country Side Alliance turning their back on regular country folk and the important issues they face to just go on about their sport as if it was all that mattered. 5 stars for Frank for showing it.

  • Love that song. Brilliant and so damn true. Keep the ban on hunting!!

  • the first chord at the end sounds like the beginning of photosynthesis but this gig was pre love ire & song

  • I think we will have to agree to disagree.

    Keep Hunting!

  • Yeah me too.

Enforce the ban, SAB the hunts!

  • Where do the farmers get the money to hire a'skilled marksman'?I agree that you have made some valid points(i was not aware of the importing of foxes)On a seperate, but linked note, the western world seems to be imposing their idea of a ideal world on every country - and we are the worlds laughing stock. Modern Britain has turned into a uptight, over regulated nightmare- killing foxes for culling purposes is nessersary-many,many struggling farmers will agree with that.

  • But... Frank Turner.

    Amazing.

    x

  • What i am saying about my story is-there are other ways,yes-but more humane? No, i shouldn't have forgotten, but then again, most farmers dont care, they wont want it to suffer but also-dont want to spend their life traveling back and fourth to check whether the fox that killed a flock of new born lambs is starving or not. Your obviously a very clever person, we just both have seperate opinions on a particular subject. However, the ban on hunting will not stop the rightful culling on foxes.

  • If a fox has to be killed (and I disagree that they need culling) there is no better way than a clean shot from a skilled marksman. That way the fox is dead before it even knows what's happening. As for these issues affecting me, I too have lost chickens to a fox but I freely admit it was my fault for not properly fox proofing their run. The fox was merely following its natural instinct.. At least we agree on one thing, Frank Turner is amazing

  • 1 last point, unless you want this to continue. The fox is native to this country, that means we have no right to try and wipe it out just because it occasionally slightly interferes with our way of life..Also the excuse that fox hunting is about population control is a relatively new one.You may not be aware of this but in the 1800s foxhunts actually imported many thousands of foxes from Europe to increase the number of foxes in lowland areas, even though they knew the impact of foxes on livestock

  • Just to be clear the fun of hunting is purely social-the killing of a fox, thats practical. Seeing as we dont meet eye to eye on the fact that foxes should be culled-im sure you will discard that point. And by affecting you i dont mean a few chickens i mean your job, loosing your young herd for the following year. Thank you for bringing up natural instinct, if animals should be treated as humans-animals kills for food, we kill to protect our food-is this so different?

  • Yes, it is very different, because humans are the only ones who think up excuses for every mess they choose to make. They make the situation what it is through sheer ignorance of how life works, and then blame the animals for it, and decide to "cull" them.

  • No, were not talking about Fishing but it seems your missing the point, your arguement is that we do it for fun, yes we do. Many people just enjoy being out and seeing their friends, enjoying themselves and doing some riding cross-country and jumping. Killing a fox is just a bonus. You have some sort of consorted idea that we all gather around and watch a fox die, by doing it this way its quick, it painless- its death get over it.

  • Also...

In the areas where hunting takes place 60% of people support it, and the anti-hunt people are in the minority. So your ethier in the minority or you live in the city and are ignorant. The Countryside Alliance says 16, 000 jobs will be lost. This is not just people who work for the hunts. It is also people who make boots, saddles and work in tourism. Anyone who is made unemployed will not get a new job as the economy is very weak in the countryside. In farming death is taken as a given.

  • Great song! Love it.

When the huntsman comes a marching give him one from me to.

Unfortunately the police are more likely to turn on the sabs even though hunting with dogs has been banned.

It's still going on people. Take action and sab hunts!

  • your an idiot and it's spelt no-one.

  • Good point. Sorry about that, i will keep that in mind.

  • This is just typical pro-hunt bs.The price of meat being lowered has nothing to do with foxes,it's supermarkets having price wars.Even the Ministry of Agriculture concedes that the impact of foxes on livestock is negligible.Fox hunting is a sick excuse for a "sport" and a social event; anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar! I've heard every pro-hunt argument before and there are rational come backs to all of them that are backed up by hard facts. Hunting continues. Enforce the ban, sab hunts!

  • Hunting facts - shooting foxes doesn't always kill foxes outright. They manage to get away - and then suffer a slow painful death. Killing them with dogs can be more humane. 100,000 foxes are shot or snared each year. Only 16,000 foxes are killed by hunts. A foxhound weighs four or five times more than a fox and its powerful jaws kill the fox quickly and cleanly. Fox hunters are being picked on. There is no vote on whether we should ban fishing, is that cruel? Its a sport - for fun.
