  • My blood sugar levels went through the roof eating those things. I almost went to the hospital because I consumed all these high carbs and starches. And don't tell me taking drugs help. That is a cop-out! The drugs don't work. I went from a 154gl to 100gl in 10 days by not eating any wheat or grains, or any sugars. I consumed meats, vegetables, berries, nuts, seeds, & yes . . . cheese. I even lost 10 lbs in 1 month on this diet. A diet high in carbs & starch is the worst thing you can do.

  • ADA is a schizophrenic organization. Carbs kill. Sugar kills and fructose kills. DOn't listen to these Dieticians, they are soldiers of the ADA and the ADA is beholden to corporations that produce corn (for HFCS) and sugar and toxic artificial sweeteners like Aspartame (Nutrisweet). Monsanto contributes to the ADA and they are the prodcuers of Nutrisweet. Most of your caloires shouold come from fat (not protein) but fat. Carbs should be eaten with fat NOT PROTEIN.

  • Mrs. Thompson I know you went to school and then received more education in the field. You may be able to help non-dibetics. For Diabetics your plan will kill us. I paid $1800 for a registered dietitian from one of the largest Florida Hospitals. She gave me a plan and I stayed on if 3 weeks. Couple of day later I had my blood taken and got a call from the doctor. What was I doing and to stop, then he made me take a stress test.

  • If man went back to eating the way we did 150 years ago, diabetes would be almost nonexistent. It's all the pressures, using food as a drug, junk foods, FAKE foods and fast lifestyles that have caused most of this.

  • Everyone talks about portion control, portion control. No one can stay on that diet! - for 10 days of effort you could try the McDougall Diet for Free! His website, library books and especially his DVD's give you all the information. His wife has tons of free recipies. He says in 2-3 days almost all of the people at his 10 day session are OFF THEIR MEDS!

    YOU could try it for a week yourself and see if your numbers come down! NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS, NO OIL (not even oilve) AND ONLY WHOLE GRAIN

  • When I was first diagnosed with this illness I was told that I needed to consume a certain amount of CARBOHYDRATES. This is an Medical industry mistake. I followed this and gained 200 lbs. I must say that the good carbs and bad carbs should be paid attention to. What is more important is Regularity of meals and sleep and activity. Avoid the liver killers or the medicines that slow liver function at all.

    It's not a mistake. THis is the way the planned it. So many people profit off ot this "mistake" like the medical supplies industry, pharmaceuticals, the giant food corn producing industry (fructose causes diabetes too),, the sugar producers and companies like Monsanto. Try to check out Gary Taubes Good Calories Bad Calories or listen to one of his lectures on Google Video or Youtube.

  • Hey eating is a challenge. Certain foods that were good for us have been rendered poisonous by the food industry. These poisons have reduced my ability to used food well. This industry is financially set to keep making profit. So is the AMA and ADA. There is a large amount of revenue to loose if they quit using these things that are killing us by destroying our Livers ability to metabolize food.

  • I am in my 12th month of no hydrogenated oils of any kind and no high fruit corn syrup. With my daily smoothie I feel great. This is the first year I would like to add that I have not even had a cold!! I am eliminating a large amount of cheese from my diet and now I am feeling less congested 24-7. I remember clearly how I was about food when I was younger and now I know what got me FAT. Sure a combination of things but mostly the things that were dismantling my metabolism machine my liver.

  • I found out that I was diabetic in 1996. I followed the diet advice that this video gives.

    The problem is that focusing on carbohydrates exactly like she is explaining is complete nonsense.

    I gained pounds. Our bodies ability metabolize good food is hindered by the modern food we eat. Right away the liver needs to be working properly for you to burn fat. Unfortunate enough for you diabetics out there is that the oral medications cause weight gain

  • im interested what diet you follow now then, i have gained 2.5 stone recently trying to stabalise my blood sugar. i realise now i am insulin resistant and am so confused as to what i should be eating!!!

  • I have been in a battle for my life as all who have this illness are. I tried the Atkins diet and did well. But whole nutrition is really needed. I am finding the elimination of all Hydrogenated oils, or monodiglyceride and high corn syrup. I start the day out with a fruit smoothie. {banana, apple, oatmeal, berries, and t hard boiled eggs. My blood sugar is around 95 to 114 by lunch after my injections of insulin. I have been eliminating poisons that harm the liver and thus dog the metabolism.

  • Start with getting more organic foods and meats since normal produce have pesticides and meat has a lot of injected hormones and preservatives which affect your system. Insulin is a hormone and if that's out of balance then you have a hormonal problem. Adding more hormones and poisons from food makes things worse. Eat whole grain, ancient grain and rye instead of white. Avoid refined sugars. If you must have sweets try sugar free unless you can make your own (with stevia). Sweeteners are bad.

  • Hello, i have a question, I am from germany and we use BE(BrotEinheiten) instead of carbohydrates. 12g carbo = 1 BE, i was searching for the english Word of "Broteinheiten", but i dind't find it.

    and we have a "BE-Faktor", what means, if the BE-Factor is 2, we have to inject 2 Insulin Units for each BE we eat.

    do you use the same calculation method? or is it really different, because i dind't find anything about that.
