My controller setting is Type 1.

Action button is cross (X), Circle is not.

Japanese version so maybe, maybe not the other version. lol.

Japanese games usually use Circle as the X button. Think of it as if you were using a computer. Circle is Yes, X is no. Controllers in America are the other way around.
