A) Tourists.. unless they are from a really cheap country find Canada expensive..

B) the Maritimes have had the tax for 14 years and it works well!

C) Liquor will have no tax on it anymore so really that will be a lot cheaper ...

D) Gordon Campbell is the best man for the job as premier so no one should say anything about not knowing how he got reelected.....

@funnycat14 Too bad most of the Maritimers are working in Alberta in order to pay for this great tax on there salt cod and scallops. Harmonized huh? It sounds harmless but feels more like sodomy.

Harmonized tax is a push from the world elite to make the transition to the NAU quicker and easier, the first time I heard "harmonized" was from the American government when they started the "shhhh" agenda for the North american union, they want to harmonize, tax, duty, food regulation (codex ailmentarius), system codes, anti-terror legislation, personal citizen databases, etc etc, the list goes on and on. I knew 6 years ago that when we started hearing "harmonized" its the end of Sovereignty

im from ABBOTSFORD,BC , i like to share a few things that people need to understand will cost alot more other then they basic things we all keep hearing about like hair cuts,what about the increase in BASIC living cost that we all need to survive i keep my list short .. all thanks to changes toward how labour will now be charged .. Land Taxes, Car insurance , Home insurance,strata fees just to name a few this will cost the average working stiff min.2,000$ a year i have no doubt

kinghoho2 the worst thing about HST is the grocery that it will affect. Normally we only pay one tax for food items, now we pay both. Many complaints have already been issued in Ontario when they had HST. All the business said "it didnt even fucking cut any cost aside from the exempt of doing a PST paper".

Gordon Campbell did this because he knows that BC will be in heavy deficit after the Olympics. Ever since he got elected he fucked everything up. Look at the wages. Campbell gave himself a raised but not us (BC has the lowest wage rate across Canada). He fucked up the olympics badly, we are in billions of debt.

Land taxes has already been increased as well as property tax by 7.5%.

Newspaper has already put out suggestions like move to another province or out of the country.
