I really enjoyed this video, especially since your greys resemble ours. We have a 13 year old brindle female with a white face and a 8 year old black male with white markings. Both of them are retired racers and wonderful dogs. Our last greyhound was a black male, who lived to be 15. I'm envious that you can let your dogs run on the beach. I love our dogs, but I wouldn't trust them to stay with us, especially if a small animal darted by. My motto is "A greyhound on every couch".

Could this be the Best Dog? I think so. They are so loving. They have kept us company for 1000 of years and lately all we do is abuse them. Racing is a sport, and all that happens there. Did you know the 2 most abused dogs are Greyhounds and Pitbulls the two sweetest breeds of Dogs that all that want is to please their owners

Awesome video, thank you! We have our first rescue greyhound. Not being a "dog person" all I can say is that this is the BEST pet experience you can have. No matter where you are, you have room for a greyhound. Check out the local rescue groups for more info and an opportunity to "meet the hounds"

Greyhounds are most most inteligent animals after human, they feel almost like we feel, they understand our emotions, they even understand some our needs, most beautiful animals on earth, espacially when running full throttle, they should be free, please take your greyhound into nature as often as possible, i wish to have such beautiful animal one day but i am not rich enough

You don't need to be rich to have a greyhound. Please, go to your local shelter, and adopt one. Most greyhounds end up in shelters after hunting season.

Most of them not older than 1 or 2 years.

I'm in the process of adopting a greyhound. The one thing they stress over and over is NEVER leave a greyhoung off it's leash unless it's in a fully enclosed area. I don't think the beach counts as 'fully enclosed'. As great as it is to see them run it's an awful risk to take. The dog WILL run into traffic and a car WILL hit it. At 45mph a car has no chance to stop. Just my two cents.

to being off-leash since puppy age. The beach,

where I take my Greys, is very far away from

traffic, so no possibility to get hit by cars...

A good, calm, assertive and sensible pack-leader will always achieve to have an off-lead reliable greyhound.

Beaches and dog parks are not high traffic. Cities and town roads are. You a leash then! 

Earn your hounds faith to obey and follow you. They are already inclined to want to obey and follow. Mine and many others are all off-lead. And we use common sense as to WHEN they can be off-lead.

I have two Greyhounds (male, light brindle

and female, dark brindle). The collars are

fishshaped leather collars especially for

sighthounds. They have an inner soft lining

which protects the sensitive neck.

The collars are called "Martingale" and are specially for greys! You can see them online!Just search for greyhound collars! I love Mrs Bones' collars, but they are pricey!

martingale collars. I prefer the above mentioned leather collars with the soft inner lining...
