  • Exactly, I'm so confused why they left this out, this is explains so much and would have been phenomenal if they left it in the film.

  • awesome scene!!! one of the best of this great movie... saddly is a deleted one :-(

  • Its retarded that they didn't put this in the final cut I mean it was important and showed more in depth how the scientist dude was trying to help him.

  • Cigarettes are sublime.

  • ....And remember kids dont take random acid drops from strangers or this will happen :)

  • it is beyond me why they took this out of the final cut...

  • holy fuck

  • SWWEEET!!

  • I wish they would do a directors cut of this film, adding scenes like this in it. Even the trailer shows a scene that was cut from the film. I guess I can always live in hope that they may one day do it on Blu Ray with a directors cut and some nice extras, unlike the current rush job that they have out there.

  • Some one help me Please Anyone thier

  • this happen to me once after I ate an expired mayonnaise

  • Why does that one guy look like Jacob?

  • Now that's a bad trip. If there's a lesson to be learned from this movie, it's: Stay away from drugs!

  • @MatsEP really? out of all the important things that happened in this movie the message that stood out to you most is that drugs are bad? excuse me im gonna go shoot myself in the fucking head.

  • why did they delete this scene?! this was the coolest shit ever!

i love this movie even more now!

  • @METALLERhates2332 Yeah, beats the hell out of "dying soldier has an out of body experience and sees his future as though he survived."

This movie could have been fantastic if the director had focused on one storyline and stuck with it as opposed to a thousand different subplots that all end up nowhere.

  • @GodIsACosmicAsshole The whole idea of the movie are the subplots, without them it just would have been a war movie and nothing else. This subplots end nowhere because they were ment to be that way. The guy its in his own limbo.

And the movie has both its rational and esoteric explanation.

I just watched and I really liked it. But I dont know why they cutted this scene away, its just so important to the end of the movie that now i can imagine it without adding this moment.

  • silent hill!!!!

  • I guessed they removed this cuz it's not like he lived. Having this scene would only create something called "hope", which is not relevant until the ending...

  • This is the kind of shit that happens when i have sleep paralysis.

  • @shortinos yeah that shit aint even a joke

  • CoolCool

  • Right after this i went to take a dump and the lights went out and it's midnight

  • I found this very good to masturbate to.

  • "Don't worry, just take it, Just relax. You're just going to see an horrible gory monster with multiple eyes and mouths that will try to leap on you through the ceiling.

    Just relax, man"

  • Who's been fucking with my medicines!

  • The drug is called BZ-7 not acid

  • I have done a video called 'Writhe' on my channel. It has a shaky head in it a la Jacob's ladder. Have a look at it if you get a minute or two!

  • holy shit O_o

  • 6:27 ooh shit that gave me the creeps, it makes it even more creepyer in the fact that is 4:46AM in pure darkness :o

  • ffuunnyy

  • This is fucking amazing! It's one of my favorite movies and I have never seen this!! Is the uncut version available on dvd or bluray does anyone know??

  • @vorpal72

The scenes are provided, but i'm not sure if there is an uncut version as such.

  • the 90' were the best

  • One of the most visually shocking scenes I've ever seen!! Why the fuck did they remove it D:

  • @ZEBASS

I think it was because at the screen test, the audience freaked out.

  • So,did that big bug thing just blast through his organs with mighty winds? Someone explain to me WTF just happened.

  • Puppets and robot with latex over cgi any day CGI you can immediately tell it is fake and not real with puppets you question weather it is or not on some cases depending how well they made it.

  • Silent Hill 2 borrowed a lot of stuff from this movie.

  • @wolfengheist

When I saw the eye popping out the ceiling, i remembered the flesh lips from the hospital in SH 2, then the quietness of the room at the end of the scene reminded me a lot the hospital in Silent Hill 1, after beating the lizard. I guess the SH games owe a los to this movie

  • @IwillbeWaiting

Dude. There are a buttfuck shitload of Jacob's Ladder references in the Silent Hill series. And I mean A LOT.

  • @Kemonokami

Yeah, I know. I just mentioned the things that i remember from watching this particular video.

  • this movie was really good, but it sucks that horror movies are like this anymore

  • i love this movie.....if you havent seen it seriously got out and get it, well worth it

  • SIRENTO HIRU!!!!!!!! MIND FUCKING BLOWING!!!!!!!

  • Always bugged me how they went from the scene with Jake and the scientist talking straight to the cab scene with Jake getting dropped off in front of his townhouse with practically no transition. It's the only thing I didn't like about the whole movie and putting this scene in that spot would have fixed it. It's also creepy as fuck. I can't imagine why it was cut.

  • This scene makes me wonder about where Giger's biomechanical ideas came from, among other things. LSD?

  • Bad trip! BAD TRIP!!!!

  • talk about a heavy scene wish they had kept it in

  • i dont think that eating while watching this was a good idea lol xp

  • Anyone have a clean pair of underwear I can change into?

  • @SlyNicolai i get it, like fear staring back at you?

  • the scene conflicted with the scene that danny aiello tells jacob that the only demons are the ones we create for ourselves and the only way to be free was to make peace with the world and move on

  • whats that thing @ 6:28?

  • Has anyone else noticed that the name of Macaulay Culkin doesn't appear in the ending credits?

  • i dont understand the point of the scene...glad it was deleted..how wold it fit in to rest of movie?

  • What is this supposed to mean? Him coming to terms with being drugged and having him and his friends massacred? I am not sure how I would have felt about this scene if it had been left in. The movie is a masterpiece.

  • This is probably the most nightmarish scene ever filmed. Anyone know why they didn't keep it in the film?

  • wow...its disappointing that this scene was deleted, that lighting transition was brilliantly timed.

  • my ceiling did that once.

  • Watching his face get blown with a air while he screams like a grrl while an eyebeast with a mouth full of teeth has a seizure in the ceiling is just absolutely hilarious! XD They should have definately left this scene in.

  • 6:26 wasn't that scary, it was just an eye. xD I saw it and laughed.

  • He's in Purgatory. Read Dante it's all there :)

  • these scenecould be the alternate ending...anyway the movie is a masterpiece

  • This is the reason I have never done LSD

  • @snakejohnson that makes this movie great for anti drug classes in schools

  • @jokerswarpig Except the drug in this movie was developed by the government...

  • @snakejohnson Lol, LSD is nowhere close to a deliriant, but if you know so little, you'd do best to avoid it anyway.

  • @standdownman It's just that I already have a warped imagination. If I did a drug like LSD I might really go off the deep end.

  • @snakejohnson Well, if you feel like you shouldn't, then you shouldn't.

  • @snakejohnson

LSD is nothing like this in the movie

  • @krankpuff Maybe so. I just know those types of drugs bring out whats already in your head. If you guys want a taste of that you should go watch some of the animations on my Youtube channel.

  • @snakejohnson You mean he had a seizuring toothy eyebeast in his head?! And it made his mouth inflate while he screamed!

    XD XD XD XD XD

  • @snakejohnson

Looked at some of your shit , I like it! I bet you'd have fun with acid to be honest... Although it's up to you don't let anyone pressure you into doing it cause then you WILL regret it I can garuntee.

  • @snakejohnson not everyone has a bad trip! this was a different situation though.

  • good movie

  • Haha, now everytime I want to play Silent Hill, I say, "Well, I'm going to go pop in Jacob's Ladder."

  • The whole move is one man's dying wish to live. Supurb.

  • Wow - this is easily one of my fav films of all time. Thanks for this scene. Any new Jacobs Ladder scene is a true gift in my book. Thanks mate.......

  • Boy!!the director of this film is experienced in taking one to many hits!!!! you dont just make that up

  • This movie changed my life

  • I remembered buying this on DVD a few years back and to this very day, this one deleted scene still fucks me up O_O

  • Ok.. now THIS is something that you would normally see in a Silent Hill game.. way too creepy.

  • I wonder why they would delete such an awesome scene?

  • @amkboxer I read on IMDB that they deleted this and other material because the test audiences found it too disturbing.

  • @amkboxer They said in the commentary (in the DVD) that this scene was cut because they felt that they were putting the main character through "too much."

  • Comment removed

  • Ответить на это видео...

because the scene at the end where he lies with a happy smile, may cause some people to use drugs.

  • @amkboxer it just has been cut because the film is overwhelming. so they cut some scenes.

  • @amkboxer Because Hollywood is filled with politically correct idiots who will butcher any "to strong/scary" scene, watering it down, so it can be viewed/digested by the largest mediocre consumer target. It's all about box-office and capital profit. You would cry if you saw what many great scenes from "Event Horizon" movie got butchered out. In Director's cut they said the pilot test preview watchers ware to freaked out so Hollywood bras ordered leaving it out. It's a crime.

  • The movie is in fact better without this graphic scene. Originally, the party scene was supposed to be all demons like this - but Lyne correctly understood that emphasizing the horror element would only detract from the metaphysical aspect of the film. It's plenty scary as is, in any case :)

  • man, jacob's face reminded me of alex shepherd from silent hill:homecoming , for a few seconds, even if they have nothing in common.

  • that's really disturbing......my hearts beating like a bitch !!!

  • This is one of the most disturbing things i have ever seen.

  • this ending sucks anyway, no one gives a damn in good endings.

  • One heck of a scene, but I can understand why they didn't include it in the film. If Jacob had in fact survived Vietnam and had been having hallucinations due to the chemical tests, this scene would have been a great way to end the film. However, as we know that he is in fact dead, this showdown with the effects of the drug would have seemed a little pointless in retrospect. Just my opinion, but I still think it's a great scene!

  • wtf did he give em DMT?

  • I remember seeing the trailer and could have sworn skinny puppy made some of the music.

  • silent hill much?

  • @shinx42 Silent hill was mostly based of of this you twat.

  • @nakada7224 Thanks faggot

  • @shinx42 Whats wrong? You seam a little, hostile.

  • @nakada7224 nah not hostile at all, just sayin thanks for the info.

  • @shinx42 You called me a faggot in an attempt to insult me. You may even reply to this comment that you where just stating a fact, you would say that I really am a faggot, in another attempt to insult me. So don't act stupid, that pisses me off.

  • This scene should not have been deleted. One of the best in the movie!

  • God god what a load of shit! Thank god this was not the end. It just goes to show that maybe bad films are down to luck a lot of the time. Picking the wrong scene to end can destroy a movie. As this one would of

  • This aint terrible, but yeah the ending they chose is MUCH better

  • that should of been the the ending of the movie

  • i gotta agree i am glad this scene was not in the movie. it's too much. the subtleness of the freaky parts in jacob's ladder are what makes it genious. to have this scene in the movie would've ruined that imo.

  • Seriously... Watching the movie made me feel as if I'm going insane. There's actually 3 things going on, the War, his previous wife, and his "new" life. The past and the future was identical, but it's just... really made me feel psychological damaged. Ah...

  • LMAO I love Jacobs Ladder but this deleted scene always cracks me up, the g-force face is hilarious.

  • I wish this appeared in the movie. I just watched it last night and I was wondering when this scene was supposed to happen, and it never did. I wish trailers would stop putting in scenes that don't ever appear in the final production.

  • @ToastmasterJFK trailers are almost always cut months before the movie is finished in post, and usually alot of editorial decisions are made between that time where a scene will be cut out. It sucks but its just the way it goes.

  • Or... before he dies, but after he tells him, I mean... which is like... in the exact same scene in the original cut.

  • can anyone tell me what what Jacobs Ladder is all about?

  • @stickmanpivot It's a psychological film that combines the themes of death and how it's played out through someone's perception. There's some biblical themes to it as well dealing with the concept of what Hell and the Devils inside it are really like and what Hell really is. It's like Silent Hill where you're in limbo and all the events are seen through one man's perception of what's really happening to him. It's an excellent movie, disturbing, and emotional, even after you've finished it.

  • This movie is so intense... its amazing.

  • For a 1990's movie with all this disturbing scene...

One hell of a movie Indeed

  • 7:10 That light bulb is my brain after watching this lol

  • @ 6:54 Tim Robbins looked like a combination of Pinhead and Chucky.

  • WOOW! I´d love to fight this THING in a Silent hill game!! They should take the idea of the aggressive and fast thing and just throw it to us like a Boss of some level.... Just an idea

  • One thing that strikes me watching this is just how effortlessly evocative and poweful film is (or used to be). And in contrast, just how lacking, plastic and soulless the new "digital standards" are that we have adopted the last few years are in comparison.

  • This film is awesome. It has one of the most original and powerful scripts in movies history. And it didn't win a single oscar...I am living in very strange world...

  • @bluerat77 So true with alot of gems out there. Compare Jacobs Ladder to the abomination that is Paranormal Activity.

  • @bluerat77 it wasnt dumb or stupid enough to win an oscar, the movie requires thought and patience, totally agree with your sentiment

  • @bluerat77 that's because this isn't typical Hollywood bullshit, it's an independent film. Besides, who gives a flying fuck about Oscars anyway lol, they mean nothing!

  • @trafficjam10 Amen brother, amen.

  • This is such a beautiful film. Everything about it. I have found the one movie I love most, and it is this--because... it... says everything.

  • *Insert generic humorous drug reference here* haha but seriously *insert overly biased fanatic praise here*

  • those were the days when american horror filmd were actually good.

  • I want this stuff! lol

if serious.. I think it could be a "happy end" of the movie

  • the last time I rented the movie this scene was in... and I could not remember having seen it before... personally I think the movie works better without this scene...

  • wat happen? he took drugs and somethin happen?

  • @uaj7 took LSD

  • @uaj7 u kiddin ..LOL

  • WHY DID THEY DELETE THAT!? 0_0

  • whoa, thats scary shit...what is that monster? fuck, thats creepy!

  • Wow, that was awesome... But I can sort of see why it was taken out as it gives an explanation to a lot of stuff which is creeper when it's more ambiguous...

But I wish they could have worked that same hallucination in somehow!

  • Wow! Crazzzyy Shit

  • I will never forget this movie.

  • Comment removed

  • Usually, when you see a quote "deleted scene", it's really nothing to run home about. You go "ah okay, that makes sense that it was deleted".

This is one of those rare wtf moments of 'why was this taken out?' It's a great, stellar scene that should have been kept in the movie.

  • amazing movie

  • dude, that's fucked up. to give someone a drug like LSD only instead it's just the part of LSD that turns on you and allows you to experience The Fear,Emptiness, and Despair at level of maximum overdrive, like a living nightmare,a bad trip that doesn't ever stop until you're dead!!! shame on our government for the rape and sadistic torture of those soldiers minds and souls!! "man himself has become God and laughs at his destruction,in which we trust a secret government is now in total collapse!!"

  • @BigWilki123321 I don't remember asking you a fucking thing!!! So heres some great advice, when I want your opinion I'll take my dick out of your mouth, there that shouldf shut.....you up!!

  • You're a total fucking idiot.

  • Im so fuckin heartbroken you called me an idiot. Grab yourself some common sense "Trend" and dont talk absolute bollox on a youtube comments page about secret government and minds, then get your boyfriend to comment afterwards.

you can also grab some common sense for the people who put negative feedback on my comments.

    Pathetic.

  • "A page on the public Internet requests data from your private intranet. For security reasons, automatic access is blocked."

    ...What?

I just called you a total fucking idiot what's any of that got to do with me saying that?

    You total fucking idiot.

  • @Trendkill213 It's a movie dude

  • SHOCKING AND FREAKING DISTURBING!!!

  • 6:26 made me physically move backwards from my monitor.

  • Same here, that was a nice ass technique to scare us

  • @Atma505 ...i was just taking a nip from my café latté, you can gues the rest.

  • @Atma505 same here, holy crap, that was unexpected

  • @Atma505 It lo0ks like a squiddy squideye of squiddiness!

    XD XD XD XD XD

There need to be moar movies like this...with ceiling seizuring toothy squiddy eyebeasts having seizures in ceilings that cause people to scream like little grrls while their mouths inflate like a dog's face hanging out of a speeding car!

    \8-P

  • THis is a great scene in theatrics. If it was still in, then it would be the most scariest and would have the most action of the movie. However, when it comes to the true story, irrelevent. I can see why they pulled it. I feel bad for the director having to take the scene out, but it was for the best.

  • Alternate ending? Could have been.

  • TRIPPING BALLSSS

  • It's a great scene but I can see why it was taken out. It isn't strictly necessary for the story and it overplays the drug angle, which I thought was supposed to be a red herring anyway.

  • Dream On

  • I want the director's cut if it exists. Does it?

  • I've got 4 copies of Jacob's Ladder & 3 of them were labeled 'directors cut' To answer your question; yes mate, there is a directors cut with different scenes & emphasis but I haven't found a copy yet.... I do think the film is awesome as it is but I'm curious about the 'ladder antidote' - maybe it's just B12 & benzos, they used to bring me down like a parachute on trips...

  • @sjonnygee Benzos on a trip? Wouldnt that bring you down because its used to treat anxitity.

  • Yes, that's my point, Jacob is being 'brought down' because he's getting the ladder stripped off his receptors (Antidote) - Benzos do indeed treat anxiety and can help bring you down. I was being flippant though, the Ladder is something far more ingrained. But B12 & benzos are good to have around if you're going to trip heavily....believe me !

  • Damnit, pourquoi cette scène a t-elle été supprimée? Elle est pourtant importante dans le déroulement de l'histoire.

  • who wants some acid

  • I've got to check out more of these deleted scenes!

  • Man, that's one great scene.

What part of the film was that supposed to feature in? Near the end I guess?

Jacob's Ladder is one of the most underrated films of all time.
