Absolutely amazing. I learnt this song a couple years ago, and this is the best version that i've heard so far. You sang it better than Nithyasree and Sudha Ragunathan in my opinion. You guys make the Toronto Carnatic Music community proud. Keep up the awesome work! I hope you guys do another show sometime in Toronto, I would enjoy coming. :)
It makes me wonder how KRM would play to beautiful pieces like these. Unfortunately I havent seen many KRM concerts online or live. But I can only imagine.
P.s Don't diss up respected mridangists even if you think they're a joke. keep that to urself. but i can see what made u laugh :p
@sonofthedestroyer would you mind elaborating on what about Bhaktavatsalam's playing made you laugh? I am curious to know, especially from someone who is so educated in the field of Indian music that he thought a pakhawaj was two tablas tied together sideways..
srikanth is the man- i think he was on tour with abishek raghuram(grandson of Palghat Raghu aka next legend of Carnatic Music) and ganapathy raman (student of rajarao) on the east coast of US for several weeks in march and april...if any of you have heard abishek raghuram, it's hard to support him without being overshadowed by his brilliance but srikanth does a wonderful job just as he does with any performance.
Baktavatsalam is living true to the programme title - 2007 World Drum Ensemble, Toronto, Canada. He is playing mridangam like a western drum. No pun intended.
I have listened to almost all the casettes (the CD's are only a remake of the casettes) including TVG's (though I don't remember the name of the casette). Being a mridangist myself, in my opinion, each one have some good things.
Very pleasant. Young generation is our future to progress the rich Indian classical music. Please post a Krithi of Karnataka Sangeeta Pitamaha Purdandara Daasa. Thanks.

Actually Mr Bhaktavatsalam is one of my favourite.
KRM hits the mridangam very hard.
