On a side note: Does Jean have a permanent studio in the US where she teaches often and, say, someone who comes in for a month or so can come and study with her? Paid, of course. Or if she does dance camps. I want to get back into my dance shoes so bad. I hate that I ever quit.
I'm so kicking myself for ever quitting Irish Dancing. I wish I would have kept with it while there was a dance school to attend. It's irrelevant now because I've moved to a small town where no one has even seen it much less teach it; but I still am kicking myself with my jig shoes that I ever quit while I had the opportunity. A moments boredom is bound to happen, fellow dancers, but wait it out for a bit and see how you feel in a couple months.
She Irish but born in the US, to an Irish mother. As far as what I've read, she's spent her adult life living in Ireland and Britain. She's also married to an Irishman
@fredshaney The camps in New York or California and its about 1,000$ for five days but its about 7 hours of dancing a day I've never been but always wanted to go
its a drill, and you're not always suposed to lift. That drill is meant to teach control, a soft foot, and a strong and sharp supporting leg. It helps for all the "in between" movements that come BEFORE a lift, or after.
And besides, that isn't how you spell, because you're supposed to use letters and words.
i thought she seemed kind if mean but thats what u need to stay in good dancing shape i should know i have been salsa dancing for like 5 years and ill admit its not as hard as ISD so yeah i admire all the ISD out there!!! keep working hard!!
I do irish dancing and i have done it since i was 2 years old, i have been in many shows some of these techniques arer fairly simple but are good if you want to learn some basics steps if you were going to a gaeltacht in Ireland. i love irish dancing as it is part of my culture as i am from Dublin capital of Irealand
This is rare, never seen jean teach before, I so want to learn how to do irish step dancing, riverdance is just so good at keeping in line and pratice, pratice, pratice :D
