  • All the technics you have give me one

  • lol the pitch does not need changing it need calibrating.. this is a simple job and will not cost anything, changing the pitch is overkill !!!!! dohh!

  • haha what happened to the pitch control?

  • thanks i just bought the same deck and the arm rest was also broke but the rest in good condition. this helped a bunch.

  • @MrGraffitiAmsterdam i know, i know, but why does he always got the 1200's, the silver ones?

  • Looking to buy one of the turn tables. They are built well. Looking for one in good shape.

    Jason J Cruz

  • someone dropped a beer class on in the pitch slider i reckon. Seen similar after I dropped a beer glass on a deck one night.

  • I have a Vestax PDX-A1 MK II turntable which has no output on the left channel.

Can anyone out there give me some tips as to how I might fix this?

  • @SSkiffington1234 go buy some technics

  • Here I am in Chicago, trying to find a Pitch Control PCB board replacement, and no damn DJ store has them...so finally I went online and found one over at the htfr site. ($62)

  • hey jonathan, why do you always have 1200's? dont you have some 1210's? do you buy used tts to fix them?

    greetz

  • anyone know where u can but the on off bit but just the plastic bit, because all i can find on the net is the switch with the peice of metal attached and that costs about a tenner, and i dont want to pay that for a tiny bit of plastic

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 Haha, i aint talking about no wedding dj's my friend. No DJ's MC over it....MC's MC over it...

You obviously have NO idea mate.

Go to rave, and tell me it doesnt sound far better when someones mixing vinyl than cdj's.

I agree with you that in the home environment, cd's are obviously better, but in a club, pfft, nothing beats vinyl.

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 Haha, Mate I know exactly what your talking about, but im talking from a dj's perspective, if your a dj, Its vinyl, midi or cdj. =P I use all 3 on a regular basis. Vinyl isnt anything special particularly, its just personal preference.

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 Yeah if your playing 70's records on 70's equipment.... With proper cartidges, newly pressed vinyl and a decent TT it sound amazing.

  • yeah I got a set for 300 bucks, but one was euro version, both pop lights were burnt, and the euro one needs a new rpm selector cuz some idiot glued them down. there still my babies now though. Getting a new start stop part from ebay

  • I have this exact problem.. Now can someone tell me if it's enough to change only the pitch or is it necessary to replace the circuit board underneath the pitch control? Thanks

  • i cried when i saw this

  • can i send you mine to see if you can fix it??

  • what fuck has happens to the face plate around the pitch fader, did some attack it with an axe or something? that gets on my tits when people want a pire of SL and can afford it and people are doing that to them, some people don't deserve to own equipment.

your lucky to just stumble across them things, good video mate thumbs up.

    nice one!!!

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 im sorry but i can agree with you.

  • @milesdavisblackmx5 then why are they the most sold turntable and the choice of professional DJ's

  • hey i have a video up on my page with my AT-lp120..i needed some advice cause i possibly might have a operatiing error with the turntable, any advice you can give or let me know if your turntable does the same thing would be greatly appreciated! thanks again, please comment back when you have the time on my video, its the only one i got thanks

  • hey i just got a audio technica lp120 and i think i might have an error with the turntable speed or something im not sure of, if you could please check out the video on my page, its the only one i have, and just let me know if its a common thing to have happen with turntables or if its a operating malfunction and needs to be fixed, please comment and let me know, any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

  • What a shame someone would manhandle a Technics like that.. at least it's in good hands now.

  • Dude, i've been fixing these Turntables for 20 years plus. The pitch was fine, you just need to know the values to adjust to align back the absolute zero and % settings.

  • Some People Are Such Cretins, Why Do They Treat Stuff Like That? Hope You Managed To Get It Sorted

  • That table seems to be one of the multi country(usa/euro) models. It looks like your voltage is set to the wrong setting. If your LED on the power switch is flickering at all your deck is set to wrong voltage. Pop off the platter and switch it.

If you have a usa only deck it wont be there at all.

  • If you have a mix where the second record is on the green light you could just slow/speed the first record to move the pitch slighty away from that area.

  • the pitch is great used !!

  • man get a frequency counter

  • i just bought one of these pupies for 90 dollars only things are that it is missing the tone arm holder (8 bucks lol) and this(shown in the video) so can somebody point me in a direction as to how to fix it

  • who would do such a thing

  • i just bought i perfectly good sl-1200 for 190$!

  • Nice start. I'll await the other videos.

  • and i even managed to fix the bulb ;-D

(really a bugger and hard to do but i did it and thus saved a lot of money having it repaired by a tech)

  • i had the same problem too (double zeros). i had to open the deck, find the potentiometer for the pitch and use a multimeter to set the resistance of the poti to 2.7kOhm. Now i'm fine again and have my pitch calibrated so that it is at 0% again. If you don't have a multimeter you have to check after each turn (use little steps) of the potentiometer.

    :)

  • The pitch is fine. It just needs to be recalibrated. It has what is called a DOUBLE ZERO, and this is done when someone has messed with the Variable Pitch speed adjustment (POT's) - there are 2 - one is underneath the platter, on main PCB, and the other on the PCB of the pitch control itself. These just need to be calibrated, and you'll be fine. Yes, you can replace the pitch, but u might actually have the same issue with a new pitch, because the POT's are still not calibrated. I am a tech.

  • is the arm rest replacable?

  • THIS IS GOOD JHON SAVE IT ,,

  • You talk the talk,

but can you walk the walk??.

You need to perfect your skills before you go blabbing off,on how all other djs should watch out.

    Music should do the talking.

  • Don't leave us hanging! Fix the pitch man! LOL I gotta know how you do it...

  • tenminmix prize???

  • heyy jonathon, seen quite a few of your vids and iv noticed u know quite a bit about technics. i just bought myself an old one and im having a bit of a problem with it. when i plug it in into my mixer i i just get a sort of humming noise, and its not the mixer thats broke cos iv tried it with the other deck. i was thinking it could be the phono cable but i dont know enough to be sure. Any advice or help from anyone would be much appreciated! cheers :)

  • haha iv just fixed my problem!! i am buzzin, watched some more of your vids n saw u take the cart off n give it a blow n licked them things n now its working nicely :D sweet as a nut maaate!

  • Hahaha now you need a new arm, nice one! Saliva corrodes the contacts and you will soon need a new arm wand, the problem will only get worse. To clean the contacts use some WD40 or IPA sprayed on a cotton bud to clean the contacts, never lick them.

  • its alright cos i regurlary drink WD40 for breakfast you smart cunt.

  • you are eloquent!

  • The pitch control doesn't need changing, the reason you have two 0 spots on there is because someone has messed with the blue frequency potentiometer in the deck also you need to recalibrate the fader using a multi meter (2.7K ohms), to fix the 2 zero spots you need a frequency counter. If you replace the fader you will still suffer from the same fault.

  • exactly!

  • Are you Shore that the strobe light is working right to. I have had an old turn table at the Night Club that I work at years ago and the red strobe light was not working right.

  • at the youth club

  • how could you do that to a pitch control ????

    look's like a tiger attacked it !!!

This really proves that an sl-1200 never dies !

  • How about more repair videos? Such as mixer repairs and so on!

  • poor thing I wonder what kind of an asshole would do that, its great that youre fixing it up

  • Awesome stuff! I want to try to fix one myself! And give it a crazy paintjob :P

  • This is going to be a really helpful series. A lot of deejaying plainly throw their kit away when they realize fixing needs to be down.

  • Love this sort of thing. Now the carboot sale season is on us, I love to buy knacked stuff, and fix it up to fully working again. It gives you more pleasure to use something you have brought back to life, then using brand new.

Look forward to the next few vids.

  • it's the same problem I got on my 1200....

  • ahhh dam man, I just tried that on my 1200s and one of them has that problem...so what do i do to fix it?

  • to Serge808, you need to change the pitch! type in Dj help, replace the pitch in a technics sl1200. j

  • ok, i'll look it up, they are SLA 1200mk2's, usually i just avoid that whole area near the middle when mixing but fixin it would be good, thanks for the tip

  • lool someone got really pissed at that at olg girl

  • juuuuust the thing what I'm here wondering. If you have noticed my 2 newest videos :)

  • nice
