IT's a good movie. There's one thing that is a bit misleading about it though. Yes, it took 50.000 liters of water to produce the energy, but that water didn't magically disappear after that am I right? The water that has been used by the dam can just be used again after that? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that just sounds a bit odd.
One laptop destroys 3 square feet of rainforest! That's about 1.7 x 1.7', removed from the face of the earth! Stand in a spot, and THAT is how much rainforest you "destroy" (until it grows back)! Laughable.
They never say not to use computers or laptops. The message still stands: REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE.
Reduce consumption by using your current computers for longer. Reuse by donating your old computers to schools or non-profits. Finally, recycle no longer usable laptops & computer parts.
Some consumer electronics stores have take-back programs, or you could check your local government website's garbage & recycling section for info on recycling things like batteries, paint, electronics.
So what should we do to avoid this? Because a computer it's a need and well at least I'm taking care of it, this has lasted for 6 years now so far and still works really well.
i hope i can afford to buy a macbook for my next laptop somewhere in the future. they have started to produce their computers so much eco-friendlier than other companies. there's information on apple's website : )
I work with it and cannot avoid it easily... By the way, maybe you want to give suggestions of how we can improve so to say?? Look, you created this also with computers and get people watching it on youtube, what if we didn't use it?? We couldn't get your message.
By the way, i'm using apple and i cannot control it, but they claim to use lots of recycled materials and environment friendly parts. I hope it's true!
thumbs up if you watched this on your laptop and now feel guilty.

I needed my computer to watch this video, and this video gives me no information about being a more informed consumer next time I shop.
