Renee has an amazing voice, it's just not the voice for Mimi. It's too pure for someone who is going through so much suffering.

My favorite Mimi (especially at this song) is Rosario Dawson, followed by Daphne Rubin-Vega and Tamyra Gray.

Really I thought she was an excellent Mimi. I enjoyed Renee's portrayal and interpretation of Mimi,it was different and not an imitation of another. I felt the same way about Jay and appreciated his performance too.

I love Renee Goldsberry, but she just doesnt' suit the part of Mimi. She's a little too sophisticated looking and polished. Not rough around the edges sexy like Mimi. Her voice is also a bit too smooth and pure sounding to be someone who has lived throught he cruelties of life.
