  • Any cocksucker jealous motherfucker (cause they can't build a d16) who says 14's and low 13's and high 12's are slow is a shit talking nitro using assmunch....

  • @TheShel8777 couldn't say it any better. It's all about pride in doing work.

  • word d16 ftw! they can make power too

  • D16 + all motor = Slow.

  • @nitrousboy0311 prove it!!! but then, if you're still rollin in your moms d16, stop complaining and get to know the culture..its sad ur girl left you cause you slow thats all..

  • @elfmancivic Um no its simple facts. Name an all motor d16 making over 250whp with out any sort of power adder. NONE And i dont drive around in my moms 1.6 She has a 5.4l And i own a 4.6l soon to be sold so i can get another single cam.

  • @nitrousboy0311 yay! good for you, we youtubers are so proud of you that you and your mom has money to buy all these big engines..if you haven't seen any d16 all motor run make over 250 you must not build or know much...

  • finally a "classy" Honda rebuild video with no getto crap music, clean pictures and well presented. I'm so sick of the grease ball Honda getto crowd that I sometimes feel embarrassed to own a Honda. But classy videos like this redeem it all, great video and thanks for not making us Honda owners look like grease ball gangsters.

  • LOVE THE BUILD, LOVE THE MUSIC!!!

    BIG UP!

  • how much power did it gain?

  • whered you learn to rebiuld an engine? i mean i have the jist of it but i need instructions on all the smaller things.

  • i was wondering if you could verify a rumor for me since u did it already.does increasing your compression give you better mpg or lower mpg. ive heard it burns more efficient with higher compression so you get better mpg. i know you have to use higher octane but im taking that out of the equation. just the mpg.

  • @KaiSu its how u tune it period!! more power does equal less mpg..its the type of combination from weight energy and so so all together

  • hey how much does it cost to take the engine block and head to get it all cleaned like you did

  • depends! we did a lot..it helps if you know the guy too..ours ran lil under 4bills..the block:deck.honed.pressure wash..hot tank..pistons..bearing runout..HEAD:pressure and tanked..resurface..valve job(factory) no custom cuts or angle job..i might have missed a couple but this guy is good and i still go to him..from minnesota

  • o nice so what do we call these machine shops and people are they like engine block cleaning specialists.i just got a 1989 honda civic that i hope to get a d16z6 soon to swap haha and i want it professionally cleaned like yours

  • depends! they can call themselves specialist but suck to the customer..to me the guy who does all the machine work.. he's a specialist cause he does it right and good as you can see. have fun with the z6..i've seen some pretty goon ones

  • @elfmancivic MN represent.

  • what is the numbers you put down?

  • hey man i got a few questions for you if u can hit me back that would be great thanks man

  • hey nice video, i was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me... i bought a 2000 civic ex last year with a 99 civic d16y8 in it and a jackson racing super charger and melted down a piston this last winter, anyway im just getting around to working on it now and was wondering how you would rebuild this to prevent it from happening again... i dont know much about honda's and i wont claim to liike some other people haha but any help would be great, id like to know what comp ratio

  • hey, nice video man i just had a few questions that you probably know or have a good idea on... well i have a 2000 civic ex with a 99 d16y8 in it right now and when i bought the car it had a jackson racing supercharger on it, i melted down the first piston last winter... im assuming it leaned out, anyways i finally got arond to tearin it down was wondering how you would build, like how much bored over and what comp ratio idk much about hondas and such so if you could help me out that would great

  • good work.

i wont bash you like som other people.. lol

  • @BMXanimal14: hahaha!!! thanks! them people just jealous....they run their mouth like lil babies anyway....so its funny than annoying

  • @BMXanimal14 man shut up you fukin face fucker

  • cool build would be nice if you didnt skimp uot on that shitty sorry excuse for a piston ring compressor hope it didnt take too long get it right or lrt me guess you bent the pison rings ha

  • @SALVARADO64: hahaha! shitty???um... my tools are worth mroe than your car and your woman!!!

  • @SALVARADO64: in fact i have the snap on one...that was one that i stole from a shop back when i was poor........hahahahaha

  • good video.. Didnt know workin a D series was so popular ,, my boy only does Bs..

  • @JaxxBat: well working on B's h and whatso ever don't mean you got balls....thats all!!!other than that....it can be so popular

  • hey im going to rebuild my d16y8 due to a spun bearing and i was wondering if there is special that i need to pay extra attenchen to? thanks

  • I'm going to be doing the same to d16y7...I've rebuilt an eclipse gs-t with a 4g63 in to twice so it shouldn't be to bad of a rebuild..Go buy yourself a big box of plastic bags and a few different colored permenant markers so you can keep all the parts you take off labled and organized..Honda engines are fun and pretty easy to work on, so just take your time.

  • good job very nice

    wicked song

  • smallest engine ever seen

  • @OttomansAlive : hahaha! obviosly ur new or never driven before

  • ohh noo my brother owns DX but when i race him with my DC ahahh you know the result no need to tell!

  • @OttomansAlive: but thats your brother...and this was not a DX..and a DX is not the smallest engine...and thats a DX being compared to something totally different

  • if only you knew how fast it can pull a little civic.

  • how long did it take you to do it?

  • 2 1/2 months or roughly 48 labor hours..it wasn't as crutial so we took i sweet o' time

  • ok thanks.....thinkin about re building mine!

  • @elfmancivic best way to work on a car is to take your time. why I quit being a mechanic. I like high quality work, and high quality work takes time.

Took me 3 days to do my clutch or 8 work hours. We took tons of breaks, just relaxing and making sure we don't miss anything, enjoy a few beers, etc.

    Keep up the good work.

  • @bastec666: true!! i think thats why i slowed down too.. i don't have any other challenges or accomplishments in mind for now. i've put my time and money in the game.. its time to move on..i guess it gets passed on to my lil' one...he can do whatever with what i have left..thanks!

  • no problem.

and cheers to the next gen racers :D

  • i have a d series civic i want to now what chip should i put in my ecu

  • one that can be tuned...DO NOT buy one of them ones from ebay..they can and will damage ur car... ours we got from this website and i will not post it up cause im not getting paid promoting their product...then we chipped ecu and got it tuned...

  • i can remember when i did my 88 prelude b20a5 motor rebuild and she ran for the first time was fuckin amazing :D

  • yeah. i've done the b20 and b21 for that car before.

  • so rewarding building somethin ur self ;D

  • yup!

  • good build man!

  • it was here and there. but depending on certain builders, hint: some keep it on the loose side a bit. rings get warped, thats why some hondas smoke. so loose ones wont because its not as tight... :P

  • haha the white dude with a beerlao shirt, sabaidee

  • never seen a white guy with asian shit yet? hey drives the honda too! holy crap! is that somethin?

  • haha the dude still driving the civic

  • no. he sold it. but the gsr in the back. 19,000 miles and its his

  • Gangster, here in MN, you can't a mint gsr or a type r anymore, either they were abused or super high mileage

  • i can bet you on that!

  • how much it costed u to get the engine machined?

  • what is high compression for these motors? lolz!

  • That set up is about mid 12:1

  • yeah! if we were to completely build the head, who knows what a beast this one could have been..

  • I own Apocalypse Racing in Cali. I use to build alot of MINI Me's back in the day. One could make a hell of a sleeper and rack up some serious cash at the races on unsuspecting B and K series pilots. We use to bag them like no tomorrow back in the day when B series were becoming popular and D series were like the B series are to K20 's now. They'd laugh at the little D series under the hood but at the end of the race they had to pay.

  • thats cool. i know. D series are fun..but i don't hate b series.. i actaully enjoy all way around. as long as i have patients, i'll do it, and i do it well. i actaully don't race for money, i do it as a sport.. i bet it was fun racing for money and gutsy too with a D motor...gotta love em..

  • what is "high compression" for these motors? lolz!

  • i knw this is nothin to do with this vid but i jus passed mi test and im 18 wot first car wud u suggest to me please help

  • integra.civic. or if u want somthing nice 300zx N/A

  • I'd recommend before buying a car, definitely going back and repeating elementary english. As far as your first car goes... your choices always depend on your budget and goal. Same with everything else in life.

  • did you rebuild the head too? or just the bottom end?

  • the only thing that did not require anything were the rods....every inch of it was done. another words, a full rebuilt motor

  • superbly done. im going to start on my d16 turbo soon.

  • nice, but why a d-series?

  • why? any suggestions? you gonna provide me with anything better? if you don't zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip it guy! i can put any motor together with my eyes closed...um....and its not the only motor i've done!

  • don't get so defensive bro. nice build though.

  • good shit

  • good shit not a lot people fix d 15 or 16 good shit

  • thanks! except we didn't fix it,, we built it

  • nice.. good job

  • perfect build, i literally finished mine last week.

  • Dloc137 YOU FAIL! hahahahhaha

  • dam that guy DLOCK137 is a fucking idiot lmao yo dlock just stick wit GM you would be better off.... but over all that was a very nice rebuild i have respect for single cams my brother doesnt i have one semi built, i have a ek mini mi wit d16y7 block and d16z6 head, it has i/h/e,stage 3 camshaft, skunk 2 cam gear, blox manifold, throtle body, jdm tranny stage one clutch and tuned by hondata s300 just missing final drive, pistons nd port n polish but hey once again very nice work,i will post vids soon

  • wow man that guy DLock137 is a fucking idiot, guys like him give hondas a bad rep nd name yo dlock just stick wit GM plz do us all that favor lol, yo that was a clean built i was very impressed i give single cams respect my brother doesnt but i do i have a ek civic dx wit a minimi vtec swap have a d16y7 block wit a d16z6 head wit intake, headers, exhaust, stage 3 camshaft, skunk 2 cam gear, blox manifold, throtle body, jdm trany clutch nd tuned by hondata s300 gona post some vids soon

  • dude it turned out pretty nice! haha hope you put come more stuff into it, cause this shits legit! d's are underrated lol

  • i recognize that intake as being $26 on ebay and that header $36 also. Also your car has no air flow sensor, so therefore its not a true vtec. but nice work though.

  • okay? so you're saying the car doesn't have vtec? how much do you know about honda's. you gotta be kidding gangster. civic's din't come with MAF sensors FTW! and if you didn't see it, damn we're that good to eliminate that

  • i can see that it has vtec by looking at the valve covers, but my car has an air flow sensor and yours doesnt. and only true vtecs come with it.

  • im lost! how positive are you with your words!!!!

  • very, my life is Hondas. everything we ever drove has been either GM or Honda. And i bought a 98 ek coupe and have been building on it for the past year now, with a dead end job.

  • my god your full of it.

no pgmfi system ever built by honda uses and air flow meter to measure air flow and acceleration enrichment- the use always a map sensor and a throttle position sensor for that- actualy learn something before talking shit.

do you even know wht an air flow meter looks like?

  • my god your full of it.

no pgmfi system ever made by honda uses an air flow meter for acceleration enrichment- they use a map and tps for that - learn something before posting shit - do you even know what an air flow meter is?

  • if you want to make 160+ in your z6 get you a new valvetrain setup, new cam, new intake manifold check skunk2 or edlebrock has a nice one, on top of that a bigger throtle body, new intake, headers and full exhaust. Then if you want find a d17 crank (much longer stroke) get some high compression pistons on that. you'll have close to 180 hp d series. i would know, i own a d16zc which is nothing but the jdm version z6. ive got mods listed and i make just under 180 to the wheels

  • is this a GRAN TURISMO STORY! i gotta call that bluff...BULL SHIT!!! 180 to the wheels D16 all motor WITH THE PARTS YOU LISTED. thats at least 220 to the crank and 13.00 quarter mile....show some video's yo!

  • you guys are pretty stupid

b18c5 is jdm and usdm type r motor

b18c is the jdm gsr not jdm type r

b16a1 is the jdm sir crx

    b20a comes from a 89 prelude

    b20b is 98 crv

    b20z is the 99 00 crv

  • YOU'RE STUPID, i betcha 100 years that the B18C is indeed JDM type R all day baby. here's something to remember, " JAPAN NEVER MADE GSR' S RETARD. ONLY USA DID. and b20b is jaydem also. and all b20z COME IN ALL 97-2000 CRV'S....duh..c'mon now yo, quit coming around talking like yall know and make your shit sound dumb man.

  • yes ofcourse they never made any gsr's in japan, but they did make sir-g's lol. how was fishing man? i was gonna ask u how the delsol was going and..the single head yal built was running? but was to busy fishing. does ur dad know my dad or what? and damn man..ya walk hella far just to fish on the other side and i saw you and another guy carrying a cooler all the way back...that was a long as walk..how much cooler ya get?

  • love ur video buddy i'm saving money right now for next year about 5g's for body , motor and interior work ..... i have a d16z6 i wanna get at least 160hp wuts the easiest way of getting up to those numbers?

  • easiest way! FORCED INDUCTION! HAHAHA.....JK...i guess just buy it, and try it like us..then, GET IT TUNED! is the easiest and safest!

  • i;m not intrested in turbo lol more allmotor style

  • my best advise is very general, friction eats horsepower...create as least friction in the block as you can and add not just a high flow head on there, a more smooth consistant flow head, some 310cc injectors and you'll be happy. well, after tuning.

  • get ur motors right

    b16= civic si or crx

    b18c1= integra

    b18c5=type r

    b20= crv

    k20= rsx

    k24= civc si

  • aren't k24's crv's!

  • im pretty sure my si has a k20

  • actually k24 comes out of tsx and crv but hes wrong about k24 being in civic si, people use k24 block and slap a k20 head for a hybrid motor

  • i don't see many people doing the 2.4 franks yet cause they are really really expensive. if you can do that and work a 9-5 job, you must be retarded. cause that shits worth more than your car times two to the tenth power.

  • your list is partially wrong and too general

b18a or b is found in LS/RS/GS model integras

    b18c1 is gsr motor

b18c5 is the USDM integra type r motor

B18C is the JDM integra type r motor

B16A1 is USDM civic si 2000

    B20A is 90s model CRV

    K20 is found in DC5 RSX/Integra and EP3 and FG2 Civics

k24 is found in newer model CRV, Accord Base model, and TSX

  • actually B16A1 is JayDem

    B20A is prelude.

  • How fast did it run at the track after dyno tune?

  • my friend did the same set up.... the piston is from a integra 1.6 dohc motor right?

  • theres no such thing as a integra 1.6 its always a 1.8 did you mean civic???

  • wanna bet? 89 and older tegs are d16's....its the d16A1 which i equivalent to the jdm zc...and yes our pistons are in fact from what is an integra 1.6

  • lol that guy is probably thinkin OMG MAD TYTE JDM YO b18's ALL DAY YEAH

  • their are really some dumbass people posting in ur comments man. ohh yeah...do u still live by me?

  • vtec controller good, bad or a waste?

  • Nice build. I'm about to start an all motor d16 myself.

  • what all did you do to rebuilt your d16 cuz i have one and i want to rebuild it but did it make any difference from stock

  • I love this car..Thanks well i guess since you dont have a part three yet..im going to rock falls this april and ill put up part three for everyone or who ever wants to see the results..

  • I usually don't comment on car vids, but I must say congrats on a clean rebuild. Using the torque wrench, checking ring gap against the honed walls, etc...

Good to see someone know what they're doing. Props to you and enjoy a motor that you KNOW the history of and will outlast most others...

  • does anyone no if u can put a sohc vtec head on a non vtec sohc motor

  • You can. You just have to either have a V-TEC ECU, or have a manual V-TEC controller. You actually get better compression that way, i.e d16 head on d16 block. Google Mini me swap.

  • good vid, good music.

  • wat kinda cam u usin wit those high comp pistons?

  • nice job!

  • how much did it cost??

  • hey what's up what did u guys do to ur block and head u by a new block & head i am rebuild my little crx and i just want to know

  • hey what's up what did u guys do to ur block and head u by a new am rebuild my little crx and i just want to know

  • hey what did u guys whit ur block and head u by a new o what did u di am rebuil my little crx so i just want to know

  • how did u guys do the belt timing did u have a book on how to do it ? im rebuildin my d16y8 nd i dont know how to do the timeing.

  • what bearings did you guys go with? OEM, ACL, Clevites? Plastigauge it or did you guys use a micrometer for the measurements?

  • Good video, good build.

  • Are the Y8 heads the vtec heads

  • I have a 97 civic D16y4 can i put a Y8 head on it

  • Hey whats up im doin the same shit right now its about done it will be done tomorow..With the Y8 head its supposed to have 12.8-1 compression and im pretty sure you used the Y8 head, just wondering if it ran fine on 93 octane?..with the z6 head they have 11.5-1 so if it doesnt run right im throwin my z6 head on

  • epicracer your best way to save money and be not far from were a b16 would be is to get a d16a6 botom end and a y8 head the y7 is a worthless motor all around and if you have the tranny its horrible find a shorter gear tranny

  • am i to understand that you converted a non vtec D16 up to VTEC? i have the y7 in my civic, this might be a cheaper alternative to getting the b16swap

  • nice build, i got a z6thats going throug the same....whats your numbers

  • Like looking @ Rebuilds like this.. Makes me wanna do my own =D

    Nice work!

  • did you use p29 pistons? im thinking of doing this to but with a comp cam. but how do you like yours did it make good power

  • yo excellent choice of music.

  • thats kool im gonna be doing a mini me soon just tryin to get the parts how much did u put in to the motor.. mad porps homie

  • dude

u have to help me fix my ex!

    i love this car now

    lmao

    oh yeah this is stephen

    hahahahaha

  • Good Looks on the D Series Build. Hope you have fun drivin the all motor setup.

  • ok well im gonna be rebuilding my d16z6 this summer so you wanna guide me and my friends through it? because we know what were doing but someone that has already done its advice would be good.

  • Yeah mon!

  • soo u just used a p28 (OBD1) chip..how did u convert it so dat it would work wit the y8 motor? im really confused on wat to use =/

  • Ha ha very nicely done, tasteful music along with tasteful style, and nicely covered the basic journey of the build, I like the piston ring gap measuring shot, haha lastley it was actually fun to watch.

  • nice build i have a d16y8 also that ready to be rebuilt. any tips on what i should do?

  • nice song.... nice build.....i kind of wish i went with the d16z6 build now too it would have been a lot cheaper and personal i think faster then my current gsr swao now because i planned on boost......and whats that song called

  • Stir it up - bob marley

  • let me know wat it runs

  • NICE I LOVE THIS SONG TOO!!!!!

  • i have the same stock engine in my civic. how much power do u think u did after the rebuild?

  • nice vid

  • awesome build...how much did it cost taking it to the machine shop? I have a d16y8 out and ready to build aswell

  • same..wat kind of ecu did u use? p2p?
