I came upon this by accident. That little case which you say has an ivory design on the top can't be ivory. They probably made tens of thousands of those in china. It doesn't look like it was hand carved. It is just a cheap little toy case to hold stuff or make up. Ivory is made from elephant tusks which are endangered species. Completely illegal and ivory is extremely expensive now just due to that fact alone. Illegal to bring into the USA I believe as well.

That white/peach thing that was carved was called a "Cameos" Those things are really exspensive. It's a piece of jewery that was carved from sea shells.

Like my Furby, A longer speach about MLPs, A weird toy, My Sabith cat, My Battad's, A billion Beanie Babies, My old headless teady bear O_O, serge, Croc, a sock monkey, my OLD old Garfield stuffed animals, old Disney pins, My SOD poster... ect.. There was a whole bunch I couldn't fit even with the cut scenes. ;(

@HeatherFaceVblog Beanie Babies, huh? I remember when those were extremely popular, but the manufacturer made them hard to find. As a result, people had a bizarre fetish for collecting them by the hoardes. I only ever had one! Speedy the Turtle. I believe I still have him somewhere.

Toys are awesome, huh? Relics from our childhood that are so grand. They're useless to us now, but I speak from experience that it's very hard to part with them willingly.

They may be useless sometimes, But I have a 2 y/o son. So, A lot of them went to him. But even then.. It was hard to part with some. Especially the ones he could break. (Excluding the Chevron cars)

But I remember the beanie baby fad. They STILL come out with new ones. Like ones for movies, and shows. I got a Sponge Bob Bday one for my son's Bday.

They had stores for beanie baby clothes. I names my first one Spyro. (he has 2 lip rings & two earings & tattoos.) He's so old his shiny wing material came off the wings. Oh and he has a cape. I had an enormous doll house I got for a Bday but I used it for my dragons. They had everything. Posters, beds, a toilet in the bathroom, a couch in the living room, a stove & dining table in the kitchen. It used to have electricity.

That;s pretty cool. I didn't know they still made Beanie Babies. I only got one, the turtle I mentioned, because out of my father and his four brothers, I'm the only boy in the entire offspring of seventeen. So the sixteen girls usually got all that stuff.

That being said, it surprises me that a nineties kid like you didn't have Barbies to show off! Every Christmas in my old home, the Barbies and Kens always severely outnumbered the Ninja Turtles because I was the only boy.

You should! The best reason is people may have had the same toys as you do, But not anymore. People remember toys they had and look them up to revisit them in a way.

I am thankful to my grandmother for holding them for me. About this age (where you don't have toys anymore) you start to remember the old ones you grew up with.
