My cousin and I ran into him at Disneyland a LONG time ago...We were just little kids so we didn't even realize who the man was at first...but it was in an elevator at the Disney Hotel. He had a chick assistant helping him and asking if he remembered to take his medication...He was like " woman, i won't need no damn medication...you bout to talk me ta' death". Then this older white dude passed by on the way out of the elevator and said " Hay Red, you look great man! We were like, oh snap..!

Speaking of Murphy, he did a lot to help Foxx come back, especially after the IRS got Foxx for everything he had. It's a damn shame, though, that the legendary Foxx died just before it was all about to happen.
He even had a brand new show to do with Della Reese, and made one episode. He died just before it aired, with a heartfelt rumination by Reese. I was gonna watch it, but some asshole hogged up the TV and I missed it! I don't remember the NAME of it, but aw, god I would so love to see it!

Watergate Veit Nam, a stagnant economy, gas wars, etc weighed heavily on everyone's mind.. You had to be there, and live through it. @sparks199 I was born 1960. It ist from the 70ies so I would remember it. No, as far as I know it was unfortunately not shown. All this talk and the accents would have been hard to dub anyway. However, the German Scrubs has splendid dubbing. But Lonesome Dove did not work in German.
I met Redd a few times when I was a Las Vegas radio announcer. Later in Hollywood I met him again when I was at Paramount working on a TV series called Dear John. He and Della Reese were on the stage next to us doing a show. He was always nice.

I'm glad things came back around a lil for him late in his career. I hate that he had money problems at the end. He didn't deserve it knowing that he had such an impact on so many people. They did a season to rave reviews and then he passed away, on the set, with his friends by his side, doing what he loved to do, while he was filming for his new hit tv show.

Thanks Redd. Naturally comedic genius from a different era. Watts and RT Holmes projects had not been torn down yet, and the whole society was different. Watergate Veit Nam, a stagnant economy, gas wars, etc weighed heavily on everyone's mind.. You had to be there, and live through it. I shall never understand the depression, or rationing during WWII like my parents. I am a hill billy redneck freak, but funny is funny, and Fredd/Redd was funny. I met him in Las Vegas, and he was very congenial.

It's ok 2 identify ur race. It just shows everybody loved Redd Foxx. He was a natural. My family sat around the tv and laughed the whole time he was on. So many people loved him. There are not to many shows that whole families sit around the tv and enjoy today. Bunch of trashy reality shows. Oh! how I miss shows like Sanford and Son. @sparks199 I was born 1960. It ist from the 70ies so I would remember it. No, as far as I know it was unfortunately not shown. All this talk and the accents would have been hard to dub anyway. However, the German Scrubs has splendid dubbing. But Lonesome Dove did not work in German.

I met Redd a few times when I was a Las Vegas radio announcer. Later in Hollywood I met him again when I was at Paramount working on a TV series called Dear John. He and Della Reese were on the stage next to us doing a show. He was always nice.

RIP Redd - You made made me laugh to the point of tears when was a little kid. As a adult i bought the entire S&S DVD collection and you still make me laugh. I'm just an old white redneck from the south but I sure wish I would have been able to meet Red and tell him how many times he made me smile if/when I was down just by watching Sanford & Son. I'm glad things came back around a lil for him late in his career. I hate that he had money problems at the end. He didn't deserve it knowing that he had such an impact on so many people. He certainly was clever!

@dustyflair Then you'll like hearing this. If you remember right he had a successful series when he died, Della Reese was in it too. Can't remember the name. They did a season to rave reviews and then he passed away, on the set, with his friends by his side, doing what he loved to do, while he was filming for his new hit tv show.
