  • I played in a gig, opening for her in my hometown in France. Awesome artist, awesome woman. Dawn rocks!!

  • Does anybody have an English translation of what the man behind the desk says after they finish playing?

  • @dreamended here's his speech:

"Did you understand the words? Did you follow them? Good words, really, great lyrics. 'I want you to love me in my nudity, without my hair, without my cloths, even without my flesh on my bones'. beautiful."

    :)

  • @Brombit Awesome! Thank you!

  • They look too normal here to be labelled freaks.

  • so, so good.

  • That is awesome. The interviewer is too cute. Love it.

  • I literally can't believe what I just saw. Yaron London singing with Nils Frykdahl. You really must understand how weird this is for an Israeli avant-rock fan. I've never felt more bizarre...

  • Wolves In The Throne Room, Nils shirt

  • @vinte88 Wow, I didn't even notice! I love him that much more now. ;-P

  • @vinte88 Brilliant.

  • most excellent performance! tho i'm curious as to why the other 2 girls from the band are not here. i miss the little violin player.

  • @coSMia2010

I think the band's core is just Dawn and Nils, sometimes it's even only them both. I think the violin player you refer to is Dawn's sister, I forget her name...

  • That was kick-ass. I love freak-folk now.

  • Brigitte Fontaine by Faun Fables. Bravo 4 them.

  • bles the hoast!!

he reely gets into it! :)

    what a nice guy.

    cool song!!

  • lmao @ the host. these guys are so fuckin' awesome

  • Does anyone know the lyrics to this song? Or can translate them? I'm really curious as to what they are, and some I cannot tell just from listening.

  • I want to be loved for myself, forget the other ornaments. I want to be adored for myself, without my clothes my hair my flesh. (Chorus)

With my clothes on it's easy without my jewels and my furs. I like what is not easy love me without adornments. I want to be loved for my skin not for some animal skin. Just loved for the silk on my back not for the silk I'm clothed in, (Chorus)

  • and the chorus...? anyone?

  • With my hair on it's easy, it's something I can hide behind. I like what is not easy, love me for the bald kind. I want to be loved for my skull, my little parietal bone. I want the men to go crazy for my charming occipital bone. (Chorus)

With my flesh on it's easy, so vulgar and dishonest. I like what is not easy, love me for my skeleton. I want to be loved for my worst, to be loved even for my bones. I want the men just losing their heads, becoming sentimental pets. (Chorus)

  • This is awesome. It makes me smile. :)

  • My band gets to play with Faun Fables next Month!!! I'm pretty excited!

  • congrats!

  • Very entertaining! Thanks! :D

  • you know, the more i watch this, the more i realize that faun fables are easily the greatest freak fork group of all time.

  • I agree that they are freekin amazing along with secret chiefs 3, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Idiot Flesh, Charming Hostess and whoever else is associated with them that I can't think of right now, But I'll be damned if you call them freaks... If you think of them as freaks then you obviously don't understand it for what it really is

  • Oh, OK. Thanks for your intelligent comments, Chief Misses-The-Joke.

  • @luridoptics i think its easy to say "you obviously don't understand it for what it really is" when you don't have to explain to someone who doesn't understand what it really is at the risk of sounding pretentious, hah. I like faun fables. However, Idiot Flesh is some of the most terrible music I've ever heard in my life. Love this song though... You go ahead and call them freaks though... its a relative term. P.S. I'm horribly bored and have nothing else to do... Sorry if I was rude

  • The beatboxer and drumstick-bassist make this song.

  • I saw them open for Rasputina in '04 and have dug them ever since.

  • she is a stone cold fox. their energy is so genuine. i love the host trying to get into the groove.

  • Yeah she is hot!

  • They rock 10x harder and have a more convincing anti-establishment message than any punk rock band.

  • I just can't get enough of Dawn!!

  • holy crap!

  • Hahahahhahaahahahahahahahaha

    The host is hilarious!

  • the host was a good sport to participate in the song despite the obvious fact that he has no musical ability whatsoever. would larry king do the same?

  • thanks for posting.

  • wooooo

  • The host is very impolite and arrogant.

  • I don't think it's arrogance I just think he has no freaking clue what he's talking about.

  • hahah!, nil's replies to that London monkey are real good

  • hey lay off he wasnt arrogant its his grumpy old man style - it is television you know. and he did like the song he even bothers to translate the words to hebrew at the end there

oh and its not yiddish you two legged sloth (not that theres anything wrong with it)

  • Nothing wrong with yiddish, or with being a two-legged sloth?

  • Nils, merry me!

  • Dawn McCarthy is great!

  • wow, she's great!

  • pretty awesome.. really like them..

  • Yaron London marry me!!!

  • that was awesome,a little culture clash in the interview but great performance, i love how his other co-host was spending time with mountain gorillas and he was singing along side with a sleepytime gorilla.classic!!!!!!!

  • delirious!

  • Excuse me.....what the HELL are they doing on this type of forum? Totally not their environment.

  • I thought he was speaking Yiddish.

  • stupid stupid stupid interviewer

    Faun Fables are fabulous!

  • how can you call Yaron London stupid.

this is man is a genius!

    Great performance btw

  • Its true!

  • i wish nils would have torn that man's head off and boldly danced in the viscera

  • Haha, that was quite funny indeed. And Faun Fables are great as always. Dawn McCarthy is wonderful.
