  • 3:02 is hard

  • @Sentroshi i heard one that goes 1 ANA 2 ANA 3 ANA 4 ANA 1 ANA 2 ANA 3 ANA 4

  • I can not figure this out... It is so completely different from guitar vibrato, which I'm used to.

  • The fuck is this shit?

  • when bowing, does the bow touches both strings?

  • @HangLuvU

    no

  • This was how I was taught.

    Very useful.

  • if you have experience playing the cello or violin, will learning the erhu be more easier?

  • @XxTeeyuhxX

yes, knowing violin helps with knowing the notes alot, as the two strings on erhu are D and A, the two middle string on the violin.

  • @guitarhamster102 really? YES!! cause i play the violin. ty!

  • i bought my erhu from eason and my teacher teached me how to do the rolling viabrato

  • ohhh i thought that lady making noise was the the noise of the erhu!lol

  • 这样揉弦会造成手指紧张,以致指尖对音的敏感性很差,时间长了,小臂疲劳。

  • Thanks so much for this video. I am just starting to learn how to play the erhu. I had this same exact question for my teacher, but it was not easy for her to explain.

  • Great Tutorial. Please post more online lessons!

  • Great Tutorial. Please post more online lessons!

  • hello! where do you get the erhu?

  • most anoying metronome i've ever heard

  • My friend's dog is terrified of my Erhu lol. And I haven't even played it for her, which would make her more terrified.....

  • lol, i found this one useful and intertaining

  • this instrument can kill anybody

  • um did u ever play the theme song wong fei hung if u know can u tell me where to find the notes for the song so any one know plz tell me

  • My dad bought me an erhu from China and I can't wait to play it! I used to play the cello in school and this kinda looks like a similar but more relaxed version in terms of positioning.

I'll be keeping an eye on these tutorials. :) Thanks, tansungwah!

  • i am soooo jelouse! ive been playing cello for a long time and i've Wanted a Erhu soo badly

    Cherish it!

at least untill i get one =]

  • thanks

  • You should get off the clock, or it will hurts you...

  • Is it possible for one to teach themself erhu? I am very interested in learning but I doubt that I could possibly find a teacher here and florida...

  • I'm quite sure you´ll do your best if you really like it. I bought 2 weeks ago and here in Spain there aren't erhu techers at all but it I'm not bothered about that 'cause I love this sound. Just gotta imitate what people do in videos and try to get the same sound. Remember that the first person who created this instrument learnt himself :D it´s a joke... best luck dude!

  • or here in Utah. . .

  • Before I left for China, I met a guy who taught himself from Youtube. I'm curious to see how he's progressed when I get back home. Back then I knew nothing about erhu (except that it made some pretty music) so I'm also curious if I've surpassed him due to the lessons I've taken here.

  • I'm curious to know too!

  • Thats what im planning to do when i get mine...i guess it all depends on your level of musical ability. For instance, ive been teaching myself both piano and percussion for 12 years. It all comes down to whether or not you are able to teach it to yourself. That my opinion at least. =)

  • it's amazing how many people saw this video!

  • my grandpa can play this

wonder if he can do the vibrato part though

  • I didn't even know there were ones that beep...

Last one I owned was just a pendulum that you wind up and set a counterweight for the speed... and it just ticks like a loud clock. Hahaha.

  • it's really helpful

  • Thanks for a great video!

  • im realy bad at this. one two three four

  • theres a screw at the bow that u can unscrew so u can take out the bow from the strings

  • great, now i have the robotic "one, two, three, four" stuck in my head :) thanks for the lesson though

  • Hi thanks for all the videos. I was wondering though, how do you get the bow to go between the two strings?

  • It comes that way when you buy it. It is really only possible to remove the bow when you are changing strings, and at that point it's usually best to leave it where it is. Good question :)

  • Hey thank very much for your reply. You are right, I recieved my erhu with the bow already between the strings. I'm struggling to actually learn it now lol!

  • Did you order it online? If so, from what site? I'm sure that very soon erhu will begin to feel very natural to you.

  • Ebay! it's ace! i'm in the UK though so i'm not sure if the prices differ greatly in the US if that's whre you are

  • With the currency the way it is these days, I'm not sure whether I'm getting screwed or not.

  • You can actually remove the bow from in between the strings by removing the end pin on the bow.

  • hi, i have recently gt myself a er hu, but i am totally new to it. unfortunately i have broke one of its strings, how should i fix it back? can anione help me??

  • I have a video on how to fix the strings. Just look for it under my videos.

  • where to get the strings?

  • You can buy them from my online store. Just google 'Eason Enterprises'.

  • @dawnang1990 or buy two unwound banjo strings at a local gear shop.

  • At what shop are these being filmed? I should love to go there.

  • Hi, our shop is at 1 Rochor Road, #02-612, Singapore 180001.

    Sung Wah

  • Hi!, it's Angelica,

You know, when I first saw this video, it helped me improve a lot my vibrato on the cello :)

I can now start with the erhu, thanks for all your help!

  • That's great Angelica!

  • im gonna learn er hu but im still don't know the fingering for the majors. so if you don't mind. can you tell me the fingering

  • Hi Alison,

You can email me if you need help.

  • It is a digital metronome. You can buy it from any shops selling musical instruments.

  • what is the got-sound tool that you are using to practise the nods/beat?

  • great. Go on like that. I think i'll start to play erhu.

    thanks a lot
