I don't quite understand, though. What exectly was Isabella trying to say? That she doesn't want to get too close to Ronja until Ronja is sure about her feelings, because if she gives herself away now, there's a chance she will lose someone she loves again, like she has lost her mom?

I think it's something along those lines. Her mother was the first person that left her sort of speak. From what I gathered she really wants to be happy with someone. Someone that won't leave her in the end when she finds out that it's not exactly what she thought it was. She really likes Ronja and wants to be with her, but at the same time she is protecting herself from the hurt that will probably follow when Ronja realises that she sees Isa more as a best friend than girlfriend.

Well it looks like Ronja isn't going to be very pleased with her mother in the next episode! Very unprofessional of her mother too!! Look forward to the next installment. :-)
