  • Great!

  • seems she does have strong voice

  • too many of her songs sound too similar to each other with similar backing and instrumentation. .... gets a bit boring after youve heard one or two. But for a Vogue model she aint bad. .Lets say - fair to midling .....

  • Just brilliant in every sense... the lyrics are poetic, her voice is unique and (as usual) her looks and body language are evocative of finesse. Kudos to Miss Elson.

  • Great!

  • All a bit poseury, no?

  • @kangfesher ... Well she is a top model - and what you're lacking musically you can make up for in image. Can't blame her for that. Afterall - Its what this whole crazy business runs on ( ... just that some of us arrn't fooled !!)

  • Yes jack, shes fucking awsum now stop showing off.

  • Kate Bush much ?

  • @MooonWilloW

    true that

  • did no one understands this ? poor souls

  • who else is viewer number 106,203

  • Not too bad but with the shadow of Jack White hanging all over this, it's very hard to take her seriously as a singer.

  • @lkgrave Oh, for real. In all of Jack's explorations he starts to use people as instruments as well. I just consider this to be another Jack White album...the lyrics hold so many tide and true Stripes style.

  • Wow this is a beautiful song

  • You guys are really mean. I don't think this has the structure of a Jack song at all. Maybe if all you've heard is the stuff he did with Loretta Lynn, but if you listen to his entire back catalogue it's almighty obvious that this isn't really his style. Obviously it's got his mark on it because he played drums and produced it but the writing is Karen. The wording is just too far away from Jack's style.

  • @LillyCandyCane Could NOT agree more! This may sound like a few of Jack's songs but as a whole, nowhere near Jack & most importantly not a White Stripes' sound. I think that she has a beautiful voice & she is a very talented writer.

  • Omg the drums sounds exactly like those from The Dead Weather

  • @bethymolko that's really hateful? it's music, lighten up. typically musicians who marry influence each other.

  • While i certainly respect that she can write songs, i get the impression Jack had a lot to do with the overall feel of the songs.

  • beautiful, talented, and jack whites wife, possibly the best woman in the world!

  • her voice is average. theres nothing special about it. nothing to make me regognize her. im not hating im jst saying. i mean she has a good voice, just not unique.

  • @katiedid0017 She has a pretty voice. The tune is really well produced and composed so it makes a good song. Céline Dion has a great voice, but shit is what comes out of her mouth, well " imo " .

  • A great video - nothing new - don't want to see remakes of artists gone by, maybe current artists forget... looked in to so many windows bfor and heard similar.

  • @TheChazzer77 agreed

  • Woohoo !! Yay!! Amazing song...already on my favorites!

  • Could she get more katebushish? I think not.

  • It's a great, innovative song.

  • when ever i listen to this song i get the creeps that my x gurlfriends gona kill me lol

  • it sounds like jack music and karen's voice. perfect.

  • @Jack00White It is jack music. It's him on drum.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • frankly,i didn`t know she is a model(stupid me) and i really loved her voice and then heard she is the wife of jack black and a model?damn, that`s too much!<3

  • @dyadyddy

hahahahaha you mean Jack White XDD

  • @dyadyddy Jack WHITE! lol

  • @JoseGamezMusic Haha, sorry i was with my head in the clouds probably.(:

  • True poetry :)

  • True poetry :)

  • florence wannabe?

  • @Shmoofles

yeah, no, yeah, no, yeah.. no.

  • @Shmoofles music-appreciater-elitist wannabe? shut up. they're both good. Florence sucks live btw.

  • @cearaham

bullshit. I've seen her live, she was amazing. one of the best concerts ive been too and ive been to a few. nothing to do with elitism; im not the only one struck by the similarity of style, even that beaded head-dress seems borrowed from 'rabbit heart'. That acoustic vintage homage with a twist of macabre. Even the hair. and seeing as florence was first... Though i have to say i find florences sound to be more unusual, and her lyrics are more artful, go listen to 'bird song'

  • @Shmoofles I mean, Florence is talented no doubt. But i think i sway more towards Karen because her style is different enough to be recognized. They are similiar but you have to agree they're different enough. i think i'm allured by Karen and her Jack White-esque influence. Florence is good. But personally i just like Karen a little more just because i feel as though i can listen to her for a longer period of time than Florence. Karen may have been influenced by Florence. who was around first?

  • She's so macabre....... I like it!

  • the melody is rocking ! love the video ! makes me wonder why this isn't playing on the radio instead of those songs we call rap. ( no offense]

  • this is too similar to florence, i love florence and im happy to find someane like her this kind of music is beautiful and im very disappointed that people don´t hear this anymore

  • @keyboard1995 That's what i thought when i found her.

They're kinda like the same, but with different taste.

Another amazing person to add on my play list.

  • ***album herself. People forget she has been involved in music (The Citizens Band, duet with Cat Power, backing vocals for a Robert Plant track) long before she met him. Jack White produced because that's what he does. Everything JW produces has a distinct sound it doesn't necessarily mean it's his own. Listen to her whole album first.

  • The video grows on you, it's nice imagery. The song is wonderful, I love it, hauntingly beautiful. I'm a fan of this kind of dark americana/country/pop genre so regardless of her connection to Jack White I love it anyway. Also, it bugs me that people are claiming she is trying to be like Florence Welch or Kate Bush, they are all separate musicians and every artist draws inspiration from one thing or another, no need to claim that she's ripping people off when she's written every song on the alb

  • epic melody

  • florence?

  • @mikegoodfss i thought she was florence too

  • SHE REALLY GOOD ...... GLAD TO HAVE FOUND YOU

  • oh, ophelia

  • The overlap flame in the middle, almost throughout the song annoyed me.

  • to me it seems like shes just trying to be like Florence Welch ...

  • she reminds me of a female version of jack white.

  • @TechnoEclipse Funny You Should Say That..

  • @TechnoEclipse there married hahahahah

  • i love her songs

  • I love this! And she's so pretty.

  • I think this video looks weird.. the way they dance, and the tune, don't fit the images at all.

  • Because of her link to Jack White i wanted to like this and have given it more of a chance than I would've otherwise. His contribution is obvious...the arrangements, references etc, all very slick, but it's just a pity the girl ain't got nothing to say...she has a nice voice but her lyrics are so cliched, it lacks substance. Maybe she's been too influenced by the superficial world of fashion to be attempting to write anything of any depth. Stick to the covers girl!

  • @hamanitam superficial can be really deep! the old greecs knew that for sure... ;)

  • Aw she sounds just like Siouxie!! Exactly the same voice!! She looks like a moving preraphaelite painting!! The dancer with the red dress looks like a giant beside her, how weird is that?! And at her age, why is she so concerned with funerals and dirt?

    But I like it!!! :)

  • The guitar interlude bits (eg. 3:20), while being awesome, honestly have jack White's fingerprints all over them. They sound cool, but it's like his White Stripes blood jumping in for a few seconds.

  • @culturevulture123 I agree and I don't know what I don't like about it but... I'm not convinced by Karen Elson.

  • this is a stunning video ...and the comments here about it being weird or ugly are just so insanely ignorant..this is so beautiful...what dya want the same old ass in your face mtv garbage

  • I LOVE her music, but I cannot escape that this sounds SO MUCH like the Cowboy Junkies.

  • it sounds like jacks music and her words

  • Neat video, I kind of hope they make one for Pretty Babies next

  • beautiful song and the video is cool but just slightly messed up.

  • @SheaForThaLulz Thats the point. @-@

  • @nekokittymew yes, exactly :)

  • Why am I just now finding out that the beautiful Karen Elson sings??! Wtf. I'm so late.

  • Very nice voice and videoclip for doing that in THE reality very simple on THE streets or in my appartment thanks

  • EPIC.

  • like the song, but not the style in the video. looks weird, old and ugly

  • She is very pretty love this... all the vid the song ,her !

  • Beautiful song ,enjoyed the show in Brussels this week .Hope you will be back soon

  • What would 'humans' do without people to interact with?

  • wow...instumentally this sounds 100% like jack white. though, i can't complain about that. :)

but....the song itself and her voice are wonderful. great video too

  • What would 'artists' do without Kate Bush to rip off?

  • Saw her play this live acoustically today - pretty awesome!

  • loved the song when I just heard it, but...wow...does the video SUCK!

  • OMG i'm in love with her AND jack!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing video! I expected nothing less!! That's why I like her so much!

  • woah! channeling kate bush much!

  • wunder, wunder, wundervoll... ich habe mich gerade in dieses lied verliebt.

  • AWESOME again! come visit me next summer in Santorini

  • good music, video sucks

  • such a well made clip visually...

    for an amazing song!

  • pretty pretty!

  • I love your music Karen!!!

  • cool

  • Very spooky tune and video... I like it~.~

  • PERFECT.

  • This is my favorite song off of Karen's album!

  • @ModernApple Mine too, and Mouths To Feed

  • Third Man never stops in showing especially unique musical material compared to the rest of that produced in the 21st century.

  • @ThunderSkru I feel like musicians who made it big while being revolutionary will sometimes start studios and record companies that promote revolutionary music... Jack White with Third Man Records is a prime example...but another musician that is revolutionizing music is Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys...and he produced Radio Moscow, Jessica Lea Mayfield, the Ettes and the Buffalo Killers and others. And he has no problem getting them sign with any labels, especially Nonesuch who signed the keys.

  • beautiful music video.

  • I♥U

  • Hauntingly beautiful video.
