Well, you can tell RIGHT AWAY that's not Ace playing. This guy's just playing notes, he's got NONE of Ace's feel, texture or melodic sense. This guy's just mangling the guitar. Nobody is Ace. Period.
I really dont understand the problem with Tommy, yeah he's not the original but hes still good and when people insult him they are wrong because at the end of the day, he is on stage getting paid big bucks and the people that rip on him are sad idiots.

Before complaining about Tommy, take the time to note the simple fact that nowadays, he is a better guitarist than Ace. Plus, Ace willingly left the band after the reunion tour, it's not like he was robbed of his position.
He's a great guitar player, but Paul and Gene seriously needs to give him his own persona (same with Singer). I like Thayer for taking over after Ace left, but did they really have to put him in Ace's make-up, make him do some of Ace's soloparts and even make him sing "Shock Me"? Thayer deserves his own persona!

PEOPLE! The bottom line is, Ace and Peter aren't in the band because they don't want to be, and they can't keep their shit together. Gene and Paul have the drive to keep the band alive, and if they had the same work ethic and lack of professionalism Ace and Peter have, there wouldn't be a Kiss today. Now, personally, I think the new guys should wear the makeup but invent their own characters. They're obviously good, skilled musicians, which Ace is not, so let's get off the Ace worship mentality.

I saw KISS in Hampton back in October. I was so sad when the concert was over! When Tommy was soloin' at the front of the stage, all I saw was a bunch of folks pumping their fists and showing Tommy their appreciation (I was only 7 rows back) I'm glad that Tommy & Eric are in KISS. Copying Ace's licks blah blah blah..Tommy is simply playing the songs they way they were meant to be played. The thing is that he's tighter and his intonation is much better than Ace ever was. Go TOMMY!

PEOPLE! The bottom line is, Ace and Peter aren't in the band because they don't want to be, and they can't keep their shit together. Gene and Paul have the drive to keep the band alive, and if they had the same work ethic and lack of professionalism Ace and Peter have, there wouldn't be a Kiss today. Now, personally, I think the new guys should wear the makeup but invent their own characters. They're obviously good, skilled musicians, which Ace is not, so let's get off the Ace worship mentality.

Okay, I admit he's an awesome guitar player, and he's doing a great job replacing a legend. BUT man, you need to get some feedback from that thing! I was watching King of the NTW and the feedbacking intro didn't have any feedback!!!!!!! It was a puny dying out note. And I noticed this on the solo above. Get some sustainer, dude. Let's make one thing perfectly clear. This is a video of Tommy Thayer, dressed as Ace Frehley doing an Ace Frehley guitar solo. Listen to Thayer's old Black & Blue records, then listen to ANYTHING with Ace. If you don't notice a difference you have socks on your ears. Tommy is a fine guitar player I concur, but Gene and Paul don't have enough money to get me sell my soul like that. KISS should have gone out on top after the FIRST Farewell Tour. Out of the five guitar players in total Kiss had, To me Tommy Thayer comes in dead last. I saw KISS in Hampton back in October. I was so sad when the concert was over! When Tommy was soloin' at the front of the stage, all I saw was a bunch of folks pumping their fists and showing Tommy their appreciation (I was only 7 rows back) I'm glad that Tommy & Eric are in KISS. Copying Ace's licks blah blah blah..Tommy is simply playing the songs they way they were meant to be played. The thing is that he's tighter and his intonation is much better than Ace ever was. Go TOMMY!

I know they need someone to emulate Ace, but he's very sloppy sometimes. Ace wasn't good technically, but he had flair and attitude, whereas Tommy is just a stage prop. I just saw them yesterday in London, fucking cool show, but I kept thinking "they should have begged Bruce to come back and wear make-up". Just my two cents.

Apparently you have not done your homework ,man. Tommy recorded 1/2 of Ace's roles on later KISS albums? Other than 'PSYCHO CIRCUS' , what other albums are you referring to? "PSYCHO CIRCUS" was Aces' first studio album w/ KISS since "MUSIC FROM THE ELDER". Tommy Thayer played lead guitar on all but 2 songs on 'PSYCHO CIRCUS". 'SONIC BOOM" is the only other all original(meaning songs) studio record he has played on. THAT IS A FACT. So your talking about 1 album here. As far as Eric Singer..CONT>>
