Thats a silly thing to say. Silent Hill is a lame rehash of Resident Evil games. In fact, one could argue that apart from the first game the series is absolutely crap. On top of that, comparing it to one of the longest and most successful videgame series of all time is just lunacy. I'd say the Resident Evil remake on the NIntendo Gamecube is the scariest game I've ever played. I had to sleep with my light on for several days LOL

well..this is "resident for new generations" and i just don't like it anymore...i played every single game from Res series: 1,2,3,code veronica,zero,remake,and res 4 (something new but not bad)....and res 5 is by far the worst in series...i wish they did remake of res 2 and 3 with new better graphics,that would be epic....

I can understand where your coming from and to be honest I don't blame you mate. I mean when RE 5 first came out I refused to go to the midnight launch here at Birmingham, England. But anyway I bought myself a copy a few months later and was quite impressed that Capcom were able to fuse RE 4's revolutionary gameplay by adding co-op and "live inventory" to the fray. (continued part 2 lol)... Having said all that and read Capcom's Official walkthrough booklet (which shedded light on why the developers did what they did etc) I can say that its a great game. Why did Capcom remove the survival horror aspect of the game? Well I think its like the Halloween films... the first was epic.. the second good, the rest TRASH. So if Capcom had continued with Survival Horror it could've been worse. You can't have too much of one thing it could creates a "cult" fan base.

Like Mario, Zelda etc. Take a look at the stats and you can't disagree. Capcom have already shipped over 5 million copies of the game and by this time next year next year it could well be near the 8-10 million mark. Who knows.

(part 4)... I've been playing Resident Evil games for well over 10 years, I can remember 1998 like it were last year some of the biggest and critically acclaimed games came out that year. And what made me smile was that Resident Evil 2 was one of them as it DOMINATED summer '98. Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter and Tekken 3 ALL came out for the PS. But Nintendo had the last laugh as Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time garnered the biggest praise and highest sales (even though it came out on Nov 21).

I've never been a RE fan but I get what you are saying. I've been a die hard xbox person since the original Halo and Xbox. Alot of next generation games are never as good as the originals. Halo 3, Forza Motorsports 2 & 3, even the Mortal Kombat games, none are as good as the old school originals.

I'm not a huge fan of the controls in RE but I am playing through 5 anyway to get the achievements. I own 4 on the Wii and I don't like it that much.
