  • Hey, that's where the HDD is.

Don't do that again or you might just end up with with a messed up HDD.

Your iPad has a magnet that messes it up.

  • The same happened to my laptop! Annoying!

  • it's not strange , wanna have so fun with you're macbook pro.. try your keys around the rim of your screen..you'll see what happens..^_^

these are the magnets and sensors that's turn off the backlight/sleep mode of your screen when you close your macbook pro.

nothing to worry about, the ipad triggers the sensors..

  • I have the same thing! i put my ipad next to my macbook pro on a desk, it turns the laptop off like yours. the ipad magnet side is next to the laptop drive side when this happens.

  • it looks like the iPad is activating the lid closing sensor.

But where is this sensor located?, and is it caused by the metal iPad case or magnets?

  • @wiibart The sensor is located on the right or left side depending on what year that laptop is, and it's activated by magnets. Also, I like the tape on your screen ;)
