  • You know in a way some good came out of this. This guy is like a legend now for clocking the camera man. Nobody will get more attention then he will on the net for doing it!

  • I love at 2:31 when the drum major turns around and gives him a high five

  • OK this my first time seeing this performance and after watching the other vids of this I kind of felt sorry for the cameraman, but after seeing how this is a tradition and it was totally expected that the sousaphone player was going to be doing this and he was even featured talking about it, I have no sympathy for the cameraman and am actually annoyed that he ruined this guy's big moment of dotting the "i" by being in his way.

  • 2:59 well i just better get off the field now...

  • ladies and gentleman. There is no perfect performance. We're humans, not robots, we make mistakes. Just because you didn't see a mistake doesn't mean it wasn't there

  • Watch out!!!! *BOOM*

  • 2:44 "watch out!"

  • it was the cameramans fault

  • I am a die hard Michigan fan but this video is timeless and awesome!!!

  • HOLY SHIT! is the sousaphone ok?!?!?!?!

  • GTFO my dot!!

  • It was clearly audible that he said "Watch Out"

  • @ 0:48 there's our man and @ 0:58 there's his parents

  • Every time I see this I get a good laugh. BTW the great thing about being a USC fan is that the way we schedule out of conference creates moments like this. Playing at places like Auburn, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Ohio just creates a buzz like no other. Especially since all those teams were foaming out the mouth for revenge for a year. Much respect given to the Ohio fans for creating such an electric atmopshere in a great game.

  • Poor sousaphone....

  • Hilarious!

Hope the sousaphone wasn't badly damaged.

The camera was where it shouldn't be, & the band guy gave fair warning.

  • It looks like he said " watch out" then he hit him! Haha

  • @guitaher01717 he did lol

  • he gave fair warning. overall message: get off the stupid field if you're not marching!

  • he didnt hit the cameraman. The cameraman decided to let the tuba hit the camera

  • Franks Dad, was my Clarinet Director in AOSFB. =)

  • At least the sousaphone is okay.. Haha.

  • that is why you should stay off the marching band's field.

  • Don't mess with the marching band!

  • Don't mess with the marching band

  • "WATCH OUT!"

    -thunk-

  • stixx420 has a video of the cameraman. The Sousa only hits the camera. lol go watch it the cameraman runs like hell afterwards.

  • I am majoring in "Hospitality Management" AKA I went to Ohio State to manage hotel staff. LMAO.

  • I saw this and laughed SOOOOOO hard XD

  • 2:47 "Watch Out!" haha

  • One of my band teachers was an "I" dotter :D

  • Didn't USC hand it to them that night also??? So the Dotting the "i" was an epic FAIL and the game was a FAIL too!!!!!!!

  • one of my best friend is our drum major but she wants to dot the i one day

  • 12 people are from michigan

  • You don't get in the way of the "i" dotter.

  • 3:24 - 3:30 fuck you cameraman

  • football stops when the whistle blows marching band stops when they march of the field

  • sports nation haha 2:45

  • 2:44 he tells the cameraman to watch out...then knocks him out!

  • I'm a field engineer in Austin,Texas. . .cover a lot of college sports. I tell my cam ops to STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THE BAND ! ! ! They can, and WILL, run over your ass and your camera if you get in THEIR WAY ! ! ! Apparently this guy wasnt as the pre-prod. meeting when that notice came out. If his camera took any damage on this, he's gonna hear about it from the engineers. . .I guarantee it !!!

  • How does that camera guy not know to stay back? Anyone with half a brain knows that everytime the I is dotted, they swing the sousa forward and down to salute the crowd! Camera guys always get in the way of things!

  • Bet "i" dotting EVER!!!!

  • That's awful! This was obviously important to the sousaphone player and the cameraman messed it up.

  • he fell out unconsious

  • Take that Michigan (camera)

  • he dotted the i allright, (I) for idiot cameraman...:)

  • 1:40 Is that a trombonium!?!?

  • @16mmDJ no

  • WATCH OUT!!!!!!! BAM

  • i feel like if i was i part of this i would somehow find a way to accidentally mess this whole thing up haha

  • I am the guy in red, at 3:09

  • how the hell does he skip with that thing on?

  • Got Keep Filming!!!!! He yelled out watch out too

  • Got Keep Filming!!!!!

  • more like sousapwn

  • @casio42drummer Lawl... Sousapwn...

    Gets me every time.

  • Is the Sousaphone Ok?

  • He gave him a .5 second warning

  • you pursue no matter what.i think its great.he was in the sousa's way not the other way around.>:Dim in marching band playing flute and i have lesser chance of doing that but if i was in that situition its still the camera man's fault.

  • "frank's parents" LOL

  • It's the cameraman's fault that his equipment got hit. I would have done the same thing if I was the sousaphone player.

  • 2:48 epic cameraman fail into the guy thats suppose to make the I

  • i love the hi-5 at 2:32

  • thumbs up if you read the ESPN Bottom Line!

  • in the USC TMB we spell out 'Trojans' and no, we don't normally dot the 'j', however, we do dot it when we play osu, for fun :D and yes. no one gets in our way. that was a great game/senior trip for me too

  • dumbass cameraman

  • Did he well watchout! right before he hit him xD

  • He's laughing while he does it, that's amazing

  • eww cox

  • Watch OUT!!!

  • what are the odds? I work in hospital management (front desk hotel) and I was also a Sousaphone player in my high school marching band. But this was back in the Fifties. I never got a chance to "dot the i".

  • LOL I loved that! I totally remember that game. We played hard! Anyway...dude! You don't stand right in front of the guy! Sure you wanna get a good shot, but don't stand less than a foot in front of sousaphone-player! I remember that it was his first time dotting, and they were doing a whole segment on him. He will ALWAYS remember that (both parts)!

  • Okay this performance is the ULTIMATE. That was absolutely awesome writing Ohio with human cursive.......but that tuba dude and the camera........

    LMMFAO!!! LMMFAO!!! LMMFAO!!!

  • This tradition was started by who... Michigan.

  • that tuba was aiming for the cameraman

  • WHen you get in our way...we run over your ass

that sousaphone did the right thing lol

  • powerful instrument looks like It could go on offensive. Never make fun of the guys in the band, we're a whole lot tougher than people know.

  • That's what you fucking get. Dumbfuck camera man shoulda hauled his ass away.

  • the rules in marching are, you dont move for anyone. you stick to your drill

  • @GJJalltheway

'cept for football players in the middle of a play, that is....

  • @GJJalltheway

exactly in my band thats how it rolls and he allows us to trip anyone who might just try and get through our line.if they manage to get through then were out of band.

  • was the sousaphone ok? I don't even care about the camera, it's the cameraman's fault he was in the way.

  • Oh lord. Camera men need to be more smart! (or at least tell the man before the show to back off maybe...) anyways. I love the drill, I wish my band had enough people todo that kind of stuff =/

  • thats what he gets for show boating

  • @thewhiteone102 uh, he told the guy to watch out before hand. It's part of the tradition to show boat.

  • @HiguitaOnslaught I love it because, I play sousaphone!!! XD

  • Hit him like he's a judge :)

  • something broke off the camera

  • I love how he's completely unphased

  • boom headshot!

  • I feel bad for the Sousaphone... probably dented

  • that guy got watered

  • the sousa's only do the same action everytime they dot the i. camera people and judges do NOT have the right of way when it comes to marching bands high school and college. we will run your butt over so move it or lose it camera man. in this case he .... lost it. lol

  • When will they learn to stay away from the marching band!

  • baha you can see him flinch as he goes down knowing its going to hit

  • no camera's on the field!

  • Let nothing distract you from your task! haha I love this!! GO BUCKS!!!1

  • the little trumpet noise between 1:52-1:53 is the sound that goes off when i get a stiffy.

  • should have gotten three points for taking out the camera man... what a moron... didn't the idiot ever see Script Ohio before... If I was ESPN I would have fired his ass!

  • Frank's such a deusch

  • ohh my god ---- is the susaphone ok?

  • @LobaevSVL That is exactly what I was thinking xD

  • Beautiful, i remember watching this game. I'm an SC fan, and I was about to turn, but ESPN kept talking about the band and how great it was, blah blah blah!! So i was like ok i'll watch it, and man was I pleasantly surprised. That guy Frank was born to do that, he gave it everything to prefect the dot..

  • I think as much as ESPN hypes USC, the cameraman had to be from there....

  • haha well, wouldn't you try to get him out of the way if you're the INSTRUMENT REPAIR guy? awesome Frank, hopefully they learned their lesson :)

  • this is the best pre game tradition and band tradition of all of University American Football. It just never gets old

  • The "watch out" was polite on his part - most people would have just mowed him over. I've had friends march DCI; they're taught to just keep going no matter what. The judges know that you will so if they're in the way, they'll move. Especially if you're spinning a six foot flag. xD

  • camera man ruined it

no ones suppose to be on the field when the whole "Ohio" is done

    just the band...damn espn

  • @bigfrozy you said it man. at least he got what he had coming!

  • He did everything right, if the camerra man didn't want his camera hit, he should have moved... Its just like at BOA for our band, if a judge is in the way, you run his ass over!

  • And here I was thinking it didn't get any funnier than hitting a trombone in the head with a flag....... I have so much to learn. Lol

  • I agree with the majority. It's just like if you fall over or you drop a drumstick on the field - you don't sit there and cry or go back to retrieve it, you keep going until the show is over.

And I'm glad to see people that even though they aren't Buckeye fans, still appreciate that the marching band is talented. I love TBDBITL!

  • We can hit just as hard as the football team. lol No one goes through the band or gets in our way, especially K-LROW in OSUMB. Go Bucks!

  • Because they are The Best Damn Band In The Land is why ESPN showed them!

  • i still cant believe that ESPN showed the marching band

  • @SJCSmusic Apparently you don't know a lot about CFB

  • man down!!!

  • loved it

  • Awsome

  • My band teacher was in the osu marching band and showed us this in class. He thought it was hilarious.

  • I have been to numerous OSU football games over many years, and have watched cameramen run out onto the field during TBDBITL's drive down the field and have seen those same guys get run over. That band doesn't stop, march around or pause for anyone or anything! You would think word of mouth of other victims would have sunk into this guys head. The fact of the matter is he warned him in advance - that is a break in form. That kid probably got reprimanded because he actually spoke.

  • just goes to show how annoying our media is today - let the kid do his damn job...he warned him - cameraman was a dumbass..

    this was pretty impressive

  • The cameraman is obviously from the University of Miss Again.

  • I was at this game (USC game) and doubt I'll ever feel anything quite like the electricity in the 'shoe that night. Hearing that crowd roar when they begin highstepping to dot the "I"... my god, chills at the least, and tears perfectly acceptable.

  • good he did what he was suopposed to do o well camera man should have mooved he did warn him

  • i saw it! when he nailed the camera guy he was smilin! witch he deserved cuz hes a moron for standing rite next to him

  • He did exactly what he is supposed to do, Any good marcher will tell you to run over the cameramen, they are in your way not the other way around. He even warned him to "Watch out!" 2:47. More than I would have done. Here are the rules. You march through Horse shit not around it and you run over cameramen.

  • exactly. while i was at the rose bowl parade before the rose bowl game, horses had pooped all over the road and the best damn band in the land didn't miss a beat even though some people had to walk through shit

  • @whirlpool851 you call that enough notice? watch out! smash. no time at all.

  • @thelake54 We've only been doing Script Ohio for numerous decades. Not exactly sure why the camera didn't know this.

  • @thelake54 The cameraman knew it was coming...this is an Ohio State U tradition since 1918. Still fun everytime!

  • @whirlpool851 The best damn band in the land!

  • @whirlpool851 or judges

  • @whirlpool851 wtf ahaa why are u getting mad? chill

  • he looks like the only sousaphone

  • This is why cameras have zoom.

  • @beege0 Zoom can't make up for the composition you can get by standing closer. The best photographers don't rely on zoom.

  • @fisazaya I always zoom with my feet, you are correct sir!

  • @beege0 this is why cameras float/fly now

  • it amazing how close this guy's name is to frank costanza

  • Absolutely incredible... I love the OSUMB... And all kinds of props to Mr. Cosenza for not breaking his bearing; you'll get that when you're in the OSUMB... they're taught unmatchable discipline from day one.

And all the people on here who knew him or his family... that's pretty cool. small world!

GO BUCKS!!! 2010 Rose Bowl Champs!

  • frank cosenza is the man in question.

  • He said watch out......

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! i completely forgot about this. i love it and i feel bad for the guy dotting the "i". thats ridiculous

  • Ahahaahahaaaa!!!! Dude that was gorgeous!!! Thats what the dumb dude gets for standing too close!!

  • lol thats why you dont mess with marching members....lol!

  • he said watch out lol.

  • I remember this very well, USC pulled it off but watching that cameraman get dotted was tight!!

  • I never get tired of watching this.

  • poor kid...seein the video of him at the beginning does make it kind of all the more funny...damn the timing could not have been more hilarious with the music when he started running though. watching this live was awesome...

  • Frank, congratulations! Your hard work for many years paid off in a spectacular honor.

  • i hate the fuckeyes...but this is awesome!

  • This coming from "Some Boring Person." How ironic.

  • Way to go Frank. Without the band it's just a game!

  • before this game i was so nervous and hoping that osu wouldn't get crushed, but talk about one of the greatest games i've ever seen!

  • BONK.

  • WB, 'nuff said

  • i was at this game and it was so funny seeing this happen lmao

  • HAHA! So much WIN!

  • i'm not a ohio fan, but that was super cool.

  • Being a fellow marching band musican, He did what he was supposed to do. I've been told thousands of times, you do not break form. Same for competetion, if a judge gets in the way, you run them down. I hate Ohio state, but I love the script tradition. GO ANY OTHER BIG TEN TEAM!!!!

  • you got that camera guy.... haha

  • aww... being a camera man... well woman, I know that hurts, but I admire the cose up shot.. poor guy

  • That's what you're supposed to do! If someone's in your way, you run them over

  • Listen to your warnings camera man he gave u 2 seconds at 2:47 lol listen close he yelled watch out and nobody moved till they got rocked lol

  • True Ohioan. Hits the cameraman, keeps going like nothing happened, and doesn't give a fuck. GO BUCKS!!!

    O-H
