Hello Beto.. this is really a moving video... choked me up majorly.. this is a kind gift for Sherry & Michael.. The whole thing behind minimum mandatory is just so unjust and inhuman.. it goes against what many people believe in.

Sherry, I am sorry to hear about the way things have gone for your brother recently.. and who's spirits wouldn't be low in that situation.. let us hope that this law will one day be abolished... at least adjusted to fit the circumstances.

I am on a computer with no sound. But I watched this and read it all. The words are brief and conscise. They have their own imagry that is strong enough to affect me deeply. The sound of the Gavel is the sound of injustice just as it sounds out justice, Since the judgement of men is subject to failure, corruption and many inaccuracies, it sounds out injustice more often then justice. Then by the time another human intervention happens and a sentence is chosen, it is in appropriate in some way.

Even when we did the echo of the gavel, and my brother turned at looked at us right into our eyes..he had already thrown himself to the mercy of the judge..because of the mandatory minimum laws it was out of the judges' hands...Judge Rogers even said this the hardest sentence I have ever been forced to give because of this law...It truly is time for a change before generations are changed forever..there is a better way..Beto, you have done one great service for thousands..Thanks for the prayers

Hi Sherry I was told about this by Eban and I really don't even begin to understand how you must feel, I can't believe what I have been told!!. I know we have our faults and problems in the UK but nothing like this could happen here and I wish we could all get together and do something for Michael. Sometimes we do things in our lives that we all regret, especially a negative affect like this 1--not just in lives of the victim the crime directly affects--but also the lives of some many others--in this case his sister. The gift you have given them is priceless and profound. This video also allows me reflect on the things on everyday basis that I take for granted--a beautiful sunset--the embrace of a loved one--freedom to out and embrace the day. Oh Beto - this is such a wonderful gift for Sherry and her brother. Sherry and I are twin sisters in so many ways.. we share the same birthdate and I also have a brother in the same situation.. although he finally got out a couple months ago he must live in a halfway house for a long while. We are such fragile souls and our judicial system is horrid. I pray for Sherry and Michael to find some peace in this situation... it is extremely difficult.
