  • MUSICA DE JEAN MICHAEL JARRE- MAGNETICS FIELDS PART 2, Que buena musica y que buenos recuerdos de mi Amiga 500 y mi Commodore 64 !

  • Hey ! Music of Jean Michel Jarre, the pyramids concert before time :D

  • Great music!

  • anybody can just jump about collecting bombs the real challenge is to collect them in order i mean thats the aim of the game.

dont get me wrong i like your longplays but i was expecting a little more skill.

  • @thesman32

I don`t know when I realease the new longplays but I do it in the next Bomb Jack Longplay. :)

  • @thesman32 I HAVE A BOMB JACK WALKTHROUGH ONGOING ON MY PAGE!!

  • You do an excellent job by documenting these long plays. Well done.

  • taringa.net/posts/downloads/8768561/Bomb-Jack-PC-Portable.html

  • With this guy playing the most time spent in a level is that damn level complete music!!!

  • Nice game one of my all times best

  • I was the programmer of this game. Thanks for the nice comments! and to all the nasty ones, go fuck yourselves. I was only 18 when I wrote it, and I had 2 months to make it.

  • thumbs up if you have suddenly started whisteling the bomb jack music and felt the need to search for it on youtube

  • How the hell are you so good at it?

  • @omnivorousdave

I use an emulator with savestates for this video. The C64-project is more for historical reasons. I am not such a god-player how it seems in the videos.

  • Ahhhhh bum jack

  • well, you missed out half of the gameplay

  • i remember saving up to buy this game and being gutted at how bad it was. it took them ages to release it cos it was full of bugs. the spectrum 48k came out a year before this and was so much smoother and more playable

  • The music in this port is just awesome

  • Remember playing this and heart was racing whenever that P appeared! Great game for its time

  • My phone has an even better version on it and i have one of the cheapest phones there is, one horay for science. Oh yeah, nice they make hospital equipment and other important stuff too.

  • Why isn't he getting the bombs in the right order and getting the bonuses? He's playing it way too easy.

For all the people raving about this game, the music sux compared to the original. The original has multiple tunes, not just one short tune played over and over again. When you take into account that we are talking about the legendary SID chip, it's really disappointing. I would expect this from an atari, not the C64.

  • @christo930 Actually the Atari XE version has much better sound and graphics, but then it is from 2008. The thing that used to annoy me was the fact that each sound effect interrupted the music's audio and timing. Same issue with Ghosts 'n Goblins.

  • @gamein60seconds Especially seeing that the sid has 3 voices. It's a poorly written sound engine. It's a rushed port and they obviously didn't want to pay any music license.

  • It's the damn Jarre's "magnetic fields" heh. I just listened to him and thought that i knew this song from somewhere. I had this game when i was a little boy

  • nice song.

  • The controls in this game were sublime.

  • I remember the hysteric excitement when you got that golden "P" coin and everything just froze and you could jump around and win! The good old days!

  • One of the best arcade games on Commodore C64 !!! The gameplay is the same like on the real arcade machine. Fast gameplay and nice music. This game brings till today a lot of fun !!!! A real Arcade Classic Game!!!

Great!. The original comes new out on the XBOX under the name: "TECMO CLASSIC ARCADE"

  • classic

  • I played this the other day cuz my uni's SU bar has just got some old school 10 in 1 arcade machine type thing. Level 3. woo

  • I thought this was booring, I didnt like the games with stationary screens, still fun to see this though.

  • good memories :)

  • its been 19 years since i have even thought about bombjack.good times

  • Very thanks for uploading this and other!

  • You did it without loosing any live. You're awesome! 5 stars.

  • Awesome music!

  • i feel young again lol......

  • Oh, God. Bomb Jack. I remember that game. It fucking ruled.

  • The music at lvl 1 is made by Sean Michelle Sharr (or how ever u spell it) Its Oxygen Part ???, cant remember which.. Just thought I'd share it for those who want to hear the original score :)

  • Jean Micheal Jarre ;-)

  • Jean Michael Jarre's Magnetic fields part 2

  • Thanks, I never knew where the music really came from. Thought it was just a great sid tune.

  • Now let's see you do all 20 levels with getting the balloons in order! ;) That's the real challenge.

  • I'm amazed even now how good the audio was on the good old C64!!! Great stuff!

  • commodore was well known for their cheap games but also for his excellent soundchip better than amigas :)

  • @jonfletcher147 The Commodore 64 had the mighty SID audio chip

  • It looks a bit rushed there are no points displayed when you diffuse a bomb

  • yes. the track is unbelievably catchy.

  • Thanks Tombattler and DerSchmu!!!!

You guys can't imagine the years that I was looking for this song...

  • Anyone knows the gameplay's song name or author?

  • The author from the C64 music is Mark Cooksey. But it`s a coverversion. The original is from "Jean Michel Jarre"

  • Magnetic Fields Part 2, Jean Michel Jarre

  • C64 was best for graphics and I don't care... + least I didn't have to turn the volume down on my tv whilst it loaded! ;0)

  • i like this sound >:)

    love this game

  • MSX Bomb Jack

    arcade perfect

    crap audio

  • Atari XL/XE

    Bomb Jack

    looks good

    crap sound

  • Bomb Jack 8-bit ports

    Amstrad best graphics

    Spectrum looks like crap

    neither have music in them

C64 is the best 8-bit port

    because it has music

  • The new Atari 8-bit version is so much better. But then it was a work of love not profit

  • love the game as well, but the music roqs ;) most when u get power up :)

the good ol´days spendin loads of money at the arcades ^^

  • Spectrum version was better!! Much closer to the arcade.

  • I agree. ZX's version was fantastic. The C64 version was surprisingly ugly. Unfinished I could say.

  • Who cares what system is better than the other? Today everything is "better". This is about memories not grapichs.... Showed this to my kid who is six, he laught like hell. Felt that I grew up in the stone-age :-)

  • version on Atari xl/xe is better

  • Bomb Jack

    Amiga & ST

    better ports

  • how can i play the c64 version of this game for free, is it avalable on the web

  • get an emulator

  • Makes me realise how bad I was at this game. Something about multiplying bad guys and a heatseeking crow seem to put me off.

  • I was wondering the same. Insanely hard, if you ask me :D

  • Weird... the SID is a great sound chip, and yet they managed to ruin this game with it. It sounds horrible.

  • NOOOOOOO!

    You're playing it all wrong...

  • omg...

  • However, dissapointed that Reinhard did not try to make a high score. The point in the game is always going to the bomb that flashes. That will give extra bonus scores after each level, and adds an extra dimension to the game.

the game was my absolute favorite on C64, and I entertained the school playing in between the lessons. Those was the days.

    Alles gute, Reinhard!

  • Amiga / Atari ST versions = better graphics

  • Shamelessly copied from Magnetic Fields Pt. 2 :P

  • In my opinion the best version of this game. It has a soul the other versions lack. And I love the music (yeah it's Jarre, Magnetic Fields part 2)!

  • Way to go, Reinhard! I had this on C64 as part of a Hit Pak and never got as far as that. A lot of near misses with the sprites, wow.

  • Where´s the original music? What a crap!

  • lol, its a C64 Version! Very nice music!

  • 'What ya talkin bout Louis'? That WAS the C64 music for Bombjack.
