Aspartame is the most researched chemical on the planet. It has been tested by many impartial labs for any number of effects. Aswpartames only negative was disproved as the rats system was found to digest the chemical differently than in a human system. GRAS is a good place for it. In moderation it is perfectly safe, too much of anything can be harmful. Its not going to do you any harm to drink a diet soda once in a while, just dont drink 10 gallons of it a day.

I cannot show you the precise scientific experiments for they were in my nutrition textbook for my dental nutrition class I previously took. I have also read other educational texts as part of my course load and learned from other health care instructors and/or doctors who worked with me at college. As a health care professional I can say that in moderate (keyword being moderate) amounts artificial sweeteners is harmless. Yes, drinking a 12 pack of diet sodas isn't good for you...
...but comparing it to the same amount in regular sugared soda's, the diet sodas will cause less health problems. Of course, this excludes people who doctors have told them not to use artificial sweeteners. But for the average person with no major health problems, it is safe in moderate amounts.
So is the forces of brainwashing and panic. Claims of artificial sugars in 'moderate' amounts being harmful are as silly as people claiming vaccines cause autism.

aspartame is nasty stuff. If i had a diet coke now within 10-15 minutes i'd start to feel dizzy ,sick and get extremely anxious. And my mood would go from being normal to profound depression then after 30- 40 minutes boom i'm back to normal again. It seems to affect some people more than others. Some people don't get any side affects.

Civilized, my husband never reacted to anything... he drank diet pepsi daily for 10 yrs no problem. Then one day he died from a massive brain tumor metastized from a kidney tumor (which aspartame has been proven to cause in rats). Those people that are getting headaches, etc. are the lucky ones. This product was approved thanks to Donald Rumsfield. Cigarettes were once considered safe too. What a financial nightmare it would be to take aspartame off the market it's easier to let people suffer.
My mother started on aspartame a few years ago. Her memory got so bad and then I learned about Aspartame and got her off it. She cleared right up. Poisons from these chemicals work very slowly on the body. Then as your memory goes, they put you on drugs to treat the symptoms. Such would have been the case with my mother. She is fine now. But for my father, it was too late to save him. He died.
Ive been drinking diet soda since i was about 6 years old since its all that has ever been available in my house (I'm 23 years old now), i regularly consume sugar free products that contain aspartame because many regular products are a little too sweet for my taste, and I have to say, I dont experience any of the symptoms described. I dont understand where all of this comes from, I'm not exactly challenging the idea, the info may very well be valid, it just seems very blown out of proportion.

Im not trying to disprove the message in this video but if asparatame causes chronic fatigue, depression, insomnia, migranes, and muscle cramps; can you explain to me why a person like myself who normally drinks between 3-5 diet sodas a day, who uses equal and artificial sweetner, and who consumes many products abundant with asparatame has never experienced more of these symptoms than that of a person who does not ingest asparatame. sadly people don't know that not only aspartame is poisonous for the body and brain, but the white sugar itself is terribly unhealthy, try for one week not eating anything that contains sugar, (eat fruits instead) and you will notice at first a terrible addiction and need of sugar with headaches, but later u'll be in better shape, and you taste will completely change, I tried and now just the thought of somethin sweet makes me sick, the only sweetness I eat are fruits.

Stop being complacent saying that these things are 'harmless in small amounts'... as long as people like you are okay with poisons like this being marketed to us they will continue to be put into foods, vaccinations etc.. and continue to cause health problems for more people every day.

I cannot show you the precise scientific experiments for they were in my nutrition textbook for my dental nutrition class I previously took. I have also read other educational texts as part of my course load and learned from other health care instructors and/or doctors who worked with me at college. As a health care professional I can say that in moderate (keyword being moderate) amounts artificial sweeteners is harmless. Yes, drinking a 12 pack of diet sodas isn't good for you...

I agree that natural juices and water is the best, but let's be realistic here. No one in today's society will go about never drinking any sort of soda.
And vaccines are much better than the diseases they prevent. (I also realize they RARELY cause more problems than what they solve, but the chances of that are so slim it's not even worth equating into the situation) I'll give my kids the measles vaccine over the chance of having the measles, thank you. You can opt your children out of it.

It's not that it's addictive or anything, it's more or less that some people enjoy the taste of soda. (Some people can become addicted to anything, but that is a personality thing more than the actual chemicals in the substances) I personally love the taste of Coke Zero. It's light and bubbly. =) And about the vaccines? How about the fact that there is very rare instances of diseases that there is vaccines for - and the instances the diseases pop up is in people who did not have the vaccines?

If vaccines were so bad for you then millions upon millions of people would be having horrible side effects. The rare chance that there is a side effect is because of your body chemistry - there is never a 100% chance that a medicine will work on 100% of people. To assume that is to be ignorant and naive. @cylaisawesome I don't drink soda and haven't for years. I keep Xylitol sweetened gum in my purse for emergencies (like when I forget to not eat garlic before going out in public, LOL). I only drink water. Once you taste good alkaline water you literally won't want anything else.
Vaccines cause DNA damage that affects the next 3 generations. I'll take the flu or measles any day over a vaccine that is full of toxins that ruin the immune system and can damage the brain.

aspartame is nasty stuff. If i had a diet coke now within 10-15 minutes i'd start to feel dizzy ,sick and get extremely anxious. And my mood would go from being normal to profound depression then after 30- 40 minutes boom i'm back to normal again. It seems to affect some people more than others. Some people don't get any side affects.

I think you better go back to chemistry class ,methanol means nothing. Why because methanol as in the solvent was made from wood ,later oil & is an alcohol & yes it is deadly if drank ,but there is methanol which comes from a plant & is used as a flavoring agent. second there is no methanol in gasoline only ethanol ,methanol is used in funny cars which are made for it. third without the fda we would have toxic drugs and many deaths ,but they are not perfect & don't have lots of time to

Civilized, my husband never reacted to anything... he drank diet pepsi daily for 10 yrs no problem. Then one day he died from a massive brain tumor metastized from a kidney tumor (which aspartame has been proven to cause in rats). Those people that are getting headaches, etc. are the lucky ones. This product was approved thanks to Donald Rumsfield. Cigarettes were once considered safe too. What a financial nightmare it would be to take aspartame off the market it's easier to let people suffer.

My mother started on aspartame a few years ago. Her memory got so bad and then I learned about Aspartame and got her off it. She cleared right up. Poisons from these chemicals work very slowly on the body. Then as your memory goes, they put you on drugs to treat the symptoms. Such would have been the case with my mother. She is fine now. But for my father, it was too late to save him. He died.

Ive been drinking diet soda since i was about 6 years old since its all that has ever been available in my house (I'm 23 years old now), i regularly consume sugar free products that contain aspartame because many regular products are a little too sweet for my taste, and I have to say, I dont experience any of the symptoms described. I dont understand where all of this comes from, I'm not exactly challenging the idea, the info may very well be valid, it just seems very blown out of proportion.

the internet is filled with aspartame horror stories, have you not done any research yourself? the internet is filled with personal aspartame horror stories. the song was inspired by a friend of mine who got really sick from chewing gum. doctors didnt know what her illness was. so she worked it out herself. effects are different in everyone. there is also a build up aspect to it. it may not effect you instantly, but one day you might just topple over and die...

Im not trying to disprove the message in this video but if asparatame causes chronic fatigue, depression, insomnia, migranes, and muscle cramps; can you explain to me why a person like myself who normally drinks between 3-5 diet sodas a day, who uses equal and artificial sweetner, and who consumes many products abundant with asparatame has never experienced more of these symptoms than that of a person who does not ingest asparatame. To me this all seems like an exagerated and fallible idea.
