Neophyte muslim girl -on her self-image- : "Oh she must be some French designer coming up with a new fashion"
Buwhahahhaa
The presenter toys with term for the hijab calling it a "fashion emergency" and "fashion accessory". What he really should be calling it is a tool of suppression by misogynists
As a muslim man myself a really look up to muslim women because they're the only women who are respective to what they wear- they cover themselves in burqa and do not show naked parts to others! Ban the burqa some say, why ban it? There are girls out there who wear bikinis and tangas, or a shirt that says "do me", and complain when they get sexually assaulted!
What you write reveals that you expect women to take responsibility for your sexual urges. Women who refuse to dress in tents, or "show naked parts of themselves" do not imply "do me" as you say. This is only your perception.
may Allah bless all these beautiful Muslim women. Only Islam truly liberates the Woman. Non-Muslim men fear liberated, thinking women. Perverts like Sarkozy need semi-naked women to feast their voyeuristic needs. I'm a burqa clad woman, I say, LEAVE ME ALONE!!! If you are THAT concerned, talk to me and see how IIIIIII feel; not how you think I should feel.
You write well, but mandatory dress codes have nothing to do with liberation. While using your clothing to deter sexual predators must be quite effective and freedom from objectification feels good, avoiding this by placing literal barriers between yourself and the world cannot by any stretch of the imagination be dubbed as liberation.
A burqa in this way avoids one form of prison for another. Therefore, do not be offended when people point out that a burqa is an inhibition to freedom; it is.
newmuslim101....pardon me, what does it have to do with what nuns wear? Nuns don't cover their face. The subject is burka here. You don't even seem to know what it is. Niqab. Burka. Look it up!
It's just funny how the woman is happy and convinced that islam offers her liberty and freedom, yet you still think she is brainwashed and what she said is not true!
She experienced living as a muslim and a non-muslim and favored the life in islam. If she is happy with her choice then why would u be upset about it! Also how can you be sure that it is "NOT TRUE" while u never lived as a muslim before nor you know what's Islam offering humanity! Did you read the quran or the prophet's tradition?
What do you think of homosexuals? Do they offend you, do you tolerate or even love them? I'm genuinely curious about the islamic perspective on homosexuality.
homosexuality is not welcomed in Islam. muslims are forbidden from any sexual relationships between the same sex. It is considered a great sin In islam.
Hmm, im sorry i would be For the ban on the Burka because it anti-social if i can read the face of a person i cant get there expression or if im deaf i cant lip read. I dont head scarf cos it shows there face but the Burka i will stronely be for the limitation of waring on.
No it is actually part of the muslims faith. Some scholars interpret the teachings as the covering of the whole body except the hands and the face, Others say it includes the face as well. Now, whether you chose the first or the second to follow as muslims we should respect both opinions. No one is to be forced to follow whatever others think it is right for them!
This lady freely chooses to wear the hijab, but there are many women who ARE forced to wear it "forced to follow whatever others think is right" in your flowery language - under penalty of at best ostracism, or worse, being beaten, raped, or killed. Choosing to wear one is an insult to those people who have no choice.
"but there are many women who ARE forced to wear it"
Who are you referring too? where are these women? what are you basing your talk on?
There might be some who are actually forced to ware it by extremist. However, I'm sure even if they existed they won't even make 1% of the total number of the muslim women.
Muslim is a choice of the heart & soul. Physically one may wear hijab because she is forced to, then there she is not gaining anything for herself. And thus, she shouldnt wear hijab. I guess no one in the world is force to do something unless they choose to. For myself, hijab is a necessary thing for me, and i am happy wearing it. In fact, hijab is something I find beautiful in islam. It actually shows the pride of a women in conserving her body and image.
You can conserve pride in your body in any way you want - but it's something you must choose for yourself and not because you were brainwashed by a cult.
Modern liberal culture works. Females choose what to dress in and seem quite happy with that arrangement. It's called freedom of self-expression.
Whoa whoa whoa, did I hear right, did that woman at 1:11 says that Islam is LIBERATING for women? Wow.

Slavery is liberating? Women are third-class citizens in this religion; followers of their men. Chattle.
Converting means admitting that your old religion was false. Yet the new religion was once considered false in the past. It is not logical.
TheOtherSide100 2 years ago 32
According to who? who told you they are considered third-class citizens In islam?
Did you ask muslim women about what they think of islam? or are you expecting us to listen to what you are saying?

If someone differs with you in something that doesn't mean he is brainwashed. Why would you judge anyone based on what they wear?

She's saying that islam offers women the thought of liberty and that they are more free when they join Islam, which is simply NOT TRUE
