Haha LOL, chen the description, it says "bure highlights i will only have this video on here for a couple of weeks", its been out for like 5 years now.
say what you want about Bure's shortcomings, I saw him during his prime and he was without a doubt the most dangerous scoring threat in the league, bar none. He played during the clutch and grab era too, give him his props!
At the time of his final career ending injury while playing for the rangers, he was tied for the most goals in the league that season. He was amazing till the end, could have been one of the all-time greats if it weren't for incessant injuries.
Your Canadian, i'm sure. Always this civil war in which area produces better players. Bure was amazing and to say otherwise means your either prejudice against all European players or you don't know anything about hockey.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I hate european style of play and i wish they all go back and play their lame ass low scoring soccer on ice in their pathetic little leagues. If it was up to me I'd prohibit the draft of european players. As for Bure, any player whose name is not engraved on a Stanley Cup is a loser to me. Bure is no exception, and in fact a lot of Canucks fans agree with me on this one.
So by your logic the guy who rides the bench and plays maybe a couple minutes in the playoffs is a better player than Bure if the team happens to win the cup? Obviously not and you need to recognize talent when you see it. So Bure wasn't able to carry an entire team to the Cup, so what? Some of the greatest players ever couldn't have won it with the teams he was a part of. So Ignorant, It's like me telling you that your life is a failure because you don't own a Fortune 500 company.
Bure was incredible, i remember watching him the first time at the worldchampionchip '90 in switzerland as an 18 year old. and you could see even at that young age, how incredible talentet he was. only ovechkin seems to be on par with him.
i swear to god, a young pavel bure reminds me of how i envisioned macaulay culkin (kid from home alone) looking when he grew older. and when i look at how macaulay culkin turned out now.. i think it's obvious. genetics was definitely on bures side not just for hockey bahah.
This vid has the best bg music. The clip is also superb but I have seen better. Many goals are zoomed replay shots that cut away how he passed through allt he defenders which you can see on other ppl's clips. other than that overall, this is one of the 2 best clips on Bure on Youtube I saw.
YA well those russians always come and play a couple of great years and then think there all that superstar and just stop working and stuff like that just like Kovalev and Ovechkin is on this way.
and who was he supposed 2 pass 2? he was the only good player on that team..he single handidly took them 2 the playoffs..much like ovechkin, siemen and kolzig are doing with the capitols
lespaulmatt wayt u said b4 made me shit mypants EVERY hockey player/fan and i mean EVERY one nos back then ther was mor hitting. bure is 10x better then ovechkin y the fuck do u think ther was bench ckearing brawls back then its cuz sum1 got laid the fuck out...but u prob dont no that bc u dont even actualy play hokey rofl
how muhc better can it get, the spped the shot the moves, just the all round skill of this player is unbeliveable russian hockey players are the most supeirior and there is no better
give ovechkin 20 years. i doubt he'll ever put up gretzky's numbers, but he'll probably pass lemieux and orr. AND THAT'S SPEAKING STATISTICALLY. since i know both lemieux and orr had injury ridden careers etc etc. for the record i think gretzky and lemieux, at least are better than ovechkin will ever be.
lespaulmatt...ur an idiot...the old nhl was way more hitting u fuckin idiot and way more stick work and holding and no one could stop him...if he didnt have so many injuries he would be in the 800 goal club without a doubt
LOL @ people claiming Ovechkin is better. He's played one full year of hockey. Bure dominated for many years when hitting and the trap were dominant, not high scoring games like today.
yeah i agree with you. ovechkin, malkin and crosby are all great, but when bure played it required alot more skill to pass by a defensemen. bure was a legend.
haha yee righttt...the amount of hits that are thrown now of days would kill bure, look at him hes a little pussy, and the only checking bure ever got was from the stick...ovechkin takes so many hits but he always knows where the puck is and stays on his feet
This person is obviously someone who wasn't around in the bure years, if anything, there was more hitting back then, the game is far less gritty now than it was back then. Enforcers are a thing of the past now. You should really think about things before you say them. Bure would have DOMINATED in the new nhl.
Lespaulmatt, bitch please, Ovechkin couldn't tie Bure's Skates. Not to mention being about 20 MPh slower than Bure is. And if you cared to watch all of his games, Bure was tortured by hits. The reason you didn't see him get hit in any of these videos was because NO ONE CAN CATCH HIM!!
but i came to my decision...if u watch this video nobody ever tries to hit pavel once...now of days with ovechkin everybody hits him but he still holds onto the puck and scores unlike pavel...he wouldnt be able to handle the new NHL haha
thats because this video was based on his highlights, you never watched him played in the playoffs or during the season have you? lots of people tried to hit him and in the playoffs in the Dallas series he took lots of beats so he went back and went high speed and elbows him, which you see in the high 3:04 in the video
All those people so in love with Ovechkin though. I'll bet a great deal of them are too young to remember Bure before his knees gave out. Bure could control the puck even better than AO. I've never seen a player who could skate that fast, and control the puck while doing it.
So Bourque's 22 seasons of being one of the best - if not THE best - defensemen in the NHL are all negated by one instance where he got "burnt" by a notorious cherrypicker who couldn't find his own team's defensive zone if you drew him a map? You're a moron.
Abe Lincoln must have been anticipating people like you when he said, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
If only we could go back in time and pull him into Anson Carter's spot (sorry, Anson!). Ah, the puck-halding prowess of the Sedin Twins, and the scoring ablility of the Russian Rocket.
He gave us good memories. Although he is a sorry little bastard for wanting to leave the team in 1998-1999.

undoubtedly, bure was the fastest skater i've ever seen. his speed combined with his stickhandling was unbeatable.

regarding skating it might be a tie between bure and paul Coffey, maybe teh two fastest skaters in nhl history. I loved 'em both !

The best stickhandler I've ever witnessed was Denis Savard.
Sure Bure was known for coasting and cherry-picking, but his offensive skill while at full speed is undeniable.
