  • I don't have a video for how to replace the speaker. It's the bottom right meshed covered hole at the bottom. Look on YouTube. Or if it looks to hard just replace the the hole bottom dock connection. Including speaker and mic

  • @jimmycloe from your name you seem a very confused individual.

@pixel if you look at my other videos. There's the same video without music.

And as ive always been the first to say the video isn't the best out there. Just hope it helps that's all

  • I think iw}t was a good explanation, just that the video it doesnt show clearly bercause it has been focuseed out. In general very good job.

A question , do you have a video to replace the sound? M;y iPhone it seems to have lost the power of the sound..it has a very low sound.

    Thank you very much!!

  • fk u

  • Think it was my alarm clock sound on my iPhone at the time of this video

  • Kings of Leon revelry

  • What the background song?

  • I always get my stuff from eBay. 8/10 times it's decent stuff. And cheap.

  • thanks for the video. When Can I get a home key. One of my home key connector is broken and need to replace the home key

  • Your best bet is to replace the whole dock section including speaker microphone and charging bit. You can buy it as a whole section on eBay. How to do it safely is up to whether you can do the repair yourself or not. For this I would search YouTube for disassembly of iPhone 3G/3GS as it will show you in more detail of how to do the fix. Otherwise if your not confident pay a professional to help you

  • HAI,

I need to replace the upper part of the frame.. so not the home button but the speaker!

How to do it savely ?

  • Why dont you look for a video on disassembly of iPhone 3G/3GS they will go past that stage. I've done it before when replacing the back plastic housing when it was cracked. And that's what I used

  • Your welcome. Yeah they are one of the first things to break on the iPhone depending on usage.

  • Thanks for the vid...I didn't know the home button had 2 contact tabs...mine only has one, so I guess that's why it doesn't work. Time to order a new button. Thanks :)

  • Cool dude

  • Great Video. Thanks to you i now have a fully white front / back paneled iPhone 3G.

  • How do you want me to help. I made a video to help. If you want another fix without taking your phone apart then let me know. You will need to research jailbreaking tho

  • Your welcome glad it helped

  • Great choice in music ;), thanks for the video tutorial as well.

  • Of all the things to comment on the video on. Lol yes it is.

  • is that left a x360 controller?

  • @VVWSION yes.

  • @VVWSION wtf...

  • In all honestly im not sure. Where as both are more or less the same. There are differences. As the bottom of the phone has no real difference to the hardware upgrades that the 3G has over the 3GS my guess it may well be the same. But as you have the part you may as well try and fit it or return it and order the right one.

  • I snapped those two prongs from the home button flex cable in my iPhone 3GS, I ordered a new hbfc, not realising that I bought a 3g hbfc. Does that matter?

  • There has been white digitisers. Obviously not from apple. But you can get them

  • @JailbreakingLegends hey i need help my iphone 3gs home button does not work i press it and it dosent take me to the home screen anymore do i need i new home button, if i need it to take me to the home screen i need to press it real hard just to take me there plizzzzzzzz help me

  • That is definitely an option. As said before the video is poor. But if it helped in any way then I'm glad. Thanks for the positive comment.

  • quick note: I ended up replacing my docking assembly and not my home button and this solved my home button issues. might be an alternative to try.

great vid (minus the capture as noted)

  • Well technically you can get by without the home button. If you know what a jailbreak is there is an app/tweak that let's you use gestures or different buttons to act as your home button or other buttons or short cuts. When searching for replacement iPhone home button there is a video that shows you how to do it. I did it whilst waiting for a new home button.

  • Thank you for this video. While replacing my cracked screen, my home button flex cable somehow broke. So, now I'm waiting for it to arrive w/ an iPhone that has a fresh new screen and no home button! Everyone, appreciate that home button, b/c w/o it, you have to turn your phone off/on to switch apps!!!

  • And I hope this video helped you in fixing it. Because of how simple it really is to fix a lot of the iPhones problems. I have recently started buying broken iPhones and reselling them.

They are expensive phones to pull apart but once you get the hand it's quite simple.

  • i broke my screen a few month back and i fixed the screen only to find out the home button didn't work once i put it back together.

purchased a button cheap on ebay. fixed it in about 30mins. its incredibly easy once you have done it once before. Just follow vids on youtube. Your iPhone isn't broke forever!!

  • I actually think the buttons themselves are physically the same.

But why risk it. If you go on eBay and put replacement iPhone 3G or 3GS home button then it will tell you if there for both or just the one. One thing i was hoping for when I had the 3GS was to replace the front digitiser with a white one. Since then I've had the black and now have the white iPhone 4 but would have been such a cool mod

  • @JailbreakingLegends The white 3gs was never white on the front. Unless it was done custom by someone. The only part that was white was the back. Thanks for the video, I will be attempting to fix my 3g home button in the next couple days with some of the tips and tricks found on various youtube videos.

  • I want to change the colour of the home button so can I just buy the home button & not the button cable (button works fine). There are many colours for the iPhone 4 can I buy that (just the button & not cable attached) to put in the iPhone 3G ? I heard that both buttons are different because they are different phone models. Thanks. :)

  • Lol yeah well the Xbox is busted but will be replacing soon.

  • this guy has everything correct a iphone a mac computer and a xbox 360 congrats mate

  • It's really not that difficult. The hardest part I'd say is disconnecting the three flex cables from the logic board. And probably reconnect the last one. Once you got the screen apart it's quite simple. I did this the first time using some pictures I fount on the net. But as always if you don't feel comfortable then pay someone professional to do it. I've had a few broken screens and if I'm out I usually go to a phone shop get the part and ask to use their screwdrivers. I'm done in mins.

    But

  • jesus christ you ripped the entire thing apart, I need to go complete my PhD in iphones and then I'll come back and watch your video...

  • i see you (: 3:32 lmao

  • Revelry - king of Leon

  • This video its not clear, bad film

  • sorry anyone know the name of the song in the background?????

  • Reverse the process

  • now how the hell do you put it back together?

  • There are bids showing you how to separate the digitiser from the LCD on YouTube just search for it.

    Glad it helped dude

  • Perfect explanations just fixed my home button by replacing the flex cable! thanks man!

  • Can you inform of a vid that explains how to separate the digitizer and screen

  • Would be a MUCH easier demo/video to understand if it didn't have Kings of Leon blaring throughout...

  • valla tío mas tolete hace un tutorial para enseñar solo sus mano anda y dedicate a ordeña vaca so tolete

  • Tools came with the button or something I've brought on eBay to do with the iPhone. You can buy them on their own

  • can you show me where i can get these tools? link me? thanks man.

  • @samshah

I was doing this myself for the first time.

Figuring it out while I was doing it. Edited the video and added the voice after.

I've watched it back. And to be honest I think it shows you exactly what you need to do. There's another YouTube vid which shows pictures. So if you can't decipher between the two then you probably shouldn't be taking it apart full stop.

Plus it makes me laugh all the people that watched this video and understand it and have fixed their phones because of it

  • rather than showing the demo to us u r yourself watching and the phone is out of focus

    no use for this vid

  • Your welcome. Im still waiting to fix another one so I can update it but if it helps that's what it's there for

  • I had to replace the home button today and needed to make sure that I know what I'm doing before hand and this video was good enough to give me some ideas.Cool stuff, it really helped man, thanks a lot!!.

  • Ok it doesn't get burned. Only melts a little which makes it sticky. Also you can sticky strips on eBay. But you should be fine with the glue on there. As you see when I took mine apart. I didn't use the hair dryer as it has been taken apart a few times and the glue is still fine

  • What about getting the glass glued back on after you placed the new button in place and stuff?

I thought that after using the heater thing the glue got kinda like burned and would need to be replaced?

    Thanks for your help!

  • I'm sure they are pretty much the same. You sure it's not just glued down. If you already have the replacement part you can look and reverse engineer how it would fit. That's my only suggestion I can think of

  • Home button appears to have a different casing on the original iPhone 3G... A little bit more plastic surrounding it... can't take mine off... d'oh!

  • I like to check to see how many views it's had and see if anyone is leaving bad comments.

  • I find it helpful, thank you very much. Thought that it was thoughtful of you to still be responding to the comments months after the video went online.

  • Your welcome. I've watched this video a few times recently an realise how bad it is. If it helps anyone that makes me happy. I only did it because of the lack of videos except for videos of pictures on YouTube. You do what you can with what you've got period

  • Thank you so much ! you're video was very helpful thanks (:

  • you can get one of them for 1 cent at amazon, fr 3g or 3gs. but the shipping fee is about 3-4 dollars. the only thing needed is really a tiny screwdriver where you can get at a hardware store, but most of you guys will be able to find one in your toolbox. a sectuion cup is very selv explanatory. you can go find one for a kids toybox where there are those little dolls dangling around the window, or if you have a portable gps that has a little section tingy attaatching to your window

  • You can buy them on eBay for a couple of dollars or pounds where ever you may be.

Or if your buying a part there are auctions that contain the tools needed as well. I always get my stuff from eBay

  • what tool kit. where did you get everthing u needed to take apart.3gs

next time bro make detailed. otherwise very good job.

  • Nearly 30,000 views. Cheers guys I didn't think it would get so much. And I promise the next time a repair. Comes my way I will shoot the video a lot better.  cheers for the support

  • Yeah water damage. My son decided to put that phone in the bath. It took a week to dry out and finally got it working again.

  • Can't please everyone

  • @JailbreakingLegends just wondering those that pink dot means that your iphone was water damaged?

  • your not filming the phone!

  • Your welcome. Glad it helped.

  • Thanks just fixed my iphone, new home button.

  • Such is life. I tried my best. The only other video that comes close to this is a video of pictures. Put the two together and you should be able to understand.

  • The camera quality isnt bad lol i think its because you dont really hold it in front of the camera enough haha

  • Your welcome 

  • Thank you!!!

  • I'm pretty sure they are both the same on the 3G and 3GS as they have kept the same casing and inside from what I remember were pretty identical.

The home button and flex cable are separated. They have a small piece of double sided sticky tape that comes with the new flex cable.

  • Thanks,i did what you do,and i repaired it..

    many thanks.

youre great,VERY GOOD QUALITY OF VIDEO AND SOUND,THANKS

  • Does this work for iphone 3G??

  • thanks for posting. i was able to bend the contact points up and fixed my phone thanks to your video. many thanks!!

  • 1. Is the same for replacement for iphone 3g, cause I messed my iphone when i tried to pry up the little tabs that connect to motherboard and accidently snapped one off rendering my home button completely useless, anyways I noticed the tabs looked a bit smaller on the iphone 3g than on my 3gs, it it essentially the same process?

    2. Did you reuse the plastic button from the old assembly and only replace the flex cable? I thought the home button was factory assembled home button+ flex cable?

  • Could you put this into a forum?

It's a lot easier having the video down in words.

I brought a broken iPhone of ebay that needs a new battery and home button to get it going again.

  • Ive got to say that how come some people can understand the video with ease. It's really not hard to do. I'f you can't depict the information you need from this video then you shouldn't be pulling your iphone apart.

Also to the guy about the music, all I did was use iMovie and blend the music in. A little like a "pub" lol 

  • What a bullshit. You can see nothing. Not better than an audiobook. Please learn to use a cam before making tutorials!

  • Thanks, mate! 'Revelry' and 'Fans'... nice!!

    I'm a huuuuge KoL fan.

  • LOL @the freakin music sounds like u are working at a bar or as you guys say a Pub.

  • repent to Jesus, Jesus loves you

  • Seriously man, redo this video so you can actually see what your doing !

  • @Jeank

Just don't watch it you tard

    @lookup

    Appreciate the comment

  • Only stupid people won't get this video I think its good enough to teach u well

  • MAN DELETE YOUR VIDEO I CANT SEE ANYTHING

  • @jeank2352 If you can't see anything, don't watch this guy's video.

  • O ps guys sorry I haven't answered your questions. I don't check my vids. I will try and respond quicker in the future. I never even knew it had so many views till a friend told me.

  • Guys as I clearly said in the video.

    1. This isn't a in detailed video on how to take the phone apart

    2. There are no other videos on how to do this

    3. The video wasn't the best because I put my iphone 4 on my desk and tried shooting the video the best I could.

The home button part I tried recording the best I could.

My voice is clear and the music was there because I choose to do so.

If you can do better then be my guest.

To the guy who had problem with the speakers it's probably you'v

  • so many haters. LOL!!! Like he said, there are no other vids showing how to do this. if you cant work it out from this vid, you shouldnt be pulling apart your iphones "JACKASSES"

Nearly 15,000 views!!! nice Aaron. well done.

This is the mad Aussie by the way. LOL!!!

  • Thanks jail breaking legends spot on video sorted everything only thing is now the phone wont play audio through external speakers or vibrate but everything else fine

    please can u help ?

  • Aaron... How to fit back the LCD screen after replace the home button? am I need to heat it back to fit it?

  • hey asshole, we couldnt have used the info video WITHOUT THE ANNOYING MUSIC YOU JACKASS

  • this video SUX... do it again in FRONT of the camera, not ON TOP!!!

  • Aaron - Why the music? It's hard enough to hear you; the music only distracts from an otherwise really helpful video.... ok thanks....

  • wish i could actually see how you changed the home button flex cable, your hands went above the camera...

  • thanksssssssssss!!!!!!!

  • You do have to. It wasn't show clearly has I was able to pull my glass straight from the mid board. As I have replaced the digitizer a few times so it comes away easily. My first removal was with the hair dryer

  • Dude my phone has been in the bath. Took me a week to fix it. I've replaced nearly everything except the logic bored lol. No matter. Got the 4 now

  • Lol, your iPhone was damaged by water. At 1:24 the bottom water sensor dot is red :P

  • Guys don't forget to join the Facebook pages

  • If anything else brakes I'll be sure to make another video 

  • awesome. vids like this are very helpful.

  • Thanks dude. Yeah same as me. Was looking for ages. Then I thought why not. Sorry about the vid. My phone was literally plonked on the desk recording

  • @JailbreakingLegends Do you have to remove the digitizer screen to get to the home button?

  • @staver76 yes

  • Great vid, man...thanks! I looked and looked for quite a while...glad someone finally posted a tutorial on this....thanks.

  • Yeah I'm married

  • LOL marrige ring?? 3:29
