@treeoflifefoundation If one is watching videos on Shamanism, and the like, isn't it a good guess that we are all on our own Vision Quest. Simply, a quest for vision. Shamanism is Journeying. Journeying is a Vision. Shaman are on a Quest each time we journey. Why would it imply anything other than that? Shaman don't need to or necessarily come from a Tribal Nation. Shamanism is a way of life, not a bloodline.
@treeoflifefoundation@MichwasWares : I think all teachers should be open to questioning. When you take that role, that's what often comes with the territory. I thought my questions were challenging but respectful. Yes, I do agree with most of what you said. However, I am a strong believer of NOT mixing lineages. When I sweat it is as I was taught by Medicine teachers on Rosebud. When I use my mesa, I use it how Juan Nunez del Prado taught me, I think we do a disservice to ethnic people when...
1) r u a Ph.D and if so, from where did you receive yr degree?
2) Also spent time receiving teachings, initiations, empowerments, etc. through the Q'ero, with Tibetan shamans in the Sagyu sect, and Sun Danced for almost two decades with the Lakota, why use, "Vision Quest" that has a very precise meaning and extrapolate it for your own purposes. I find it somewhat disrespectful and culturally insensitive.
As a person who is part Native American and have my own teachings from my own family in addition to teachings from others in different traditions I feel that neither my use nor anybody else's use of the term Vision Quest is disrespectful or culturally insensitive. The experience is the experience regardless of what label you put on it. We are going on a quest for a vision. Most importantly, that is the name Spirit gave: Walking with Shamans Vision Quest. My PhD is from the Univ. of Metaphysics.

I also want to add, I like yr videos and mean no disrespect. I am questioning, however, your intention and the impact of the words, "Vision Quest."
