No dragon heads when the boats were beached in friendly waters, they did not want to firghten the spirits, so always took them off when back "home". They were removable. =) They took the shields off too, but I guess, thats details. Oh, and the viking ships had a bilge, a hollow part above the keel, it was full of mud and salt water. Again, I guess deitails.

OH! Make some big fires around the coast, close to the vikings. the vikings used them to call people together. i think they are called Beacons in english and Bavn in danish!
