why didn't they make a 3rd decepticon 3 autobots,2 decepticons?,why not make a buddy for megs and sound wave like...STARSCREAM,or maybe even one of the SEEKERS or a GALVATRON or something.
Thanks for the upload, is cliffjumper, and blumblebee repaints? I like the earth for of prime loooks a lot like his G1 form. which is always nioce to see after the bayformer movies, will these be released in america? and dose any1 know under what line?
@masainjapan2008 n/p at all, did they? hmmm, tomy seems to have some good ideas there... do you know under what line the g1 looking prime will be released, will it be the same series? united? I think i missed that, i am sorry...
@Jshaw71 I hate to tell you, but these toys have come and gone off US toy shelves. You can still find them easily enough online, though. They were released as 'Transformers: Generations' except for a small number of toys released under 'Transformers: Reveal the Shield'. Go to tfwiki.net and look up 'Transformers United' and you can see what toys were released and what their US versions were.
@Sprocketman that's ok, thanks for the info, i will try to keep my eyes open esp for the sweet looking g1 prime, I guess that's why in the reveal the sheild like they had a g1 looking mega tron as well... makes sense...
o_o!!! what the effin eff, wai is Takara showing the hands in the commercial what happened to the GC transformations like in the Transformers Galaxy Force commercials
@CrimsomS I asked that question myself and got no answer. However it is very likely that the copyright only affects the American version. I'm not sure if Marvel still owns the name or not, and if they do they apparently don't have as much power with it in Japan as they do here.
@Autocon609 Yeah I was wondering that since Marvel copyrights and trademarks usually reach Japan. But I guess for such an obscure character, its not enforced there. To bad other characters like Circuit Breaker and the GoBots don't get off as easily.
@MEIDOco Actually he was Optimus first and then Convoy when the series was dubbed into Japanese, they decided to start calling him Optimus in Japan due to the movie (I think). Unless you mean the original toy being called 'Battle Convoy' but that has nothing to do with Transformers.
Yep, I'm referring to Takara's 1983/84 Convoy. Of course, wasn't Hasbro main idea of producing a cartoon about transforming robots started from the toy itself? Plus, back in the 80's there were tons of cartoon made based on toys and trading cards usually meant to promote the product. Out of those dozens, if not hundreds, the Transformers series were one of the very few that succeed.
Do you see this WONG?! If the guy that directed and produced Tranformers the Movie would have done the same thing...it wouldn't have been so bad. All you future animation to movie directors please take note that the Japanese took the main idea and then made changes, instead of the reverse.
@GenericSupervillain3 That's exactly my point. Wong whom made the Live action film DragonBall didn't know shit about DragonBall in detail and managed to destroy all the main ideals. He created what he said was the essence of DragonBall. Other such films that included Transformers 1-2 have done just about the same thing. My point was that, if a film is to be created from a comic then at least start with the original content and then work up and out.

@Jshaw71 Thank you. TOMY planned these toys. The metallic painting is made on a toy of UNITED.
TOMY performs product development unlike HASBRO. UNITED RODIMES CONVOY(PRIME) is released next year.

Wait, they call him Straxus in Japan? Then why the hell is he called Darkmount elsewhere, or does the copyright only affect his American release?

Same thing how Hasbro renamed Convoy into Optimus 20+ years ago.. At least Takara now prefer addressing him as Optimus instead.

@Nerroth
Drift is popular also in Japan.
But, there are few Japanese who know why he who was Decepticons participated in Autobots.

@momihog In that case, I hope someone releases a Japanese version of IDW's Transformers: Drift TPB.
