  • Good video mate, what size cable did you use.

  • @69chuddy

If I remember rightly it was 0.75mm (heat resistant)

    Thanks for the comment

  • After watching this video i realised you are waaaaaaay smarter than me , and i am calling an electrician !!! lovely video btw

  • @calmdragon

  • great vid, i had this thermostat fitted with a new boiler at our old flat. we have a house, which has a newer ferroli f24, but the diagram is identical to yours as is theu clock. now you have this installed, do you use the clock on the boiler to program it, or the stat? also does this overide the clock.

  • @fatboon

I only ever use the wireless stat now.

The switch on the boiler time clock is set to be on permanently, so that the wireless stat can control the boilers temperature.

  • Hi Mate, have you worked with a Worcester Bosch combi? is so, which are the switching terminals I need to use? I can see Ls LR Ns L N, which need to go into A & B

  • @khanny2002

No, to be sure you are better off asking in the forum (just follow the links from my channel page)

  • @ultimatehandyman Hiya, firstly a brilliant upload. Thanks alot. Now here is my problem.

I have converted my house into two separate flat. Both of the flat has one boiler, as im living in one of the flat, i only have access to that boiler and not the other person living in the other flat. Would you suggest that I put a wireless thermostat in the other flat so the other person can also control the central heating system? What would you suggest? I am confused! Thanks

  • @AZKHAN12121

The problem is that only one of you can control the boiler. So if you fit a wireless thermostat one of has to decide the temperature of the boiler. If he switches the temperature low you will be cold etc.

  • Very easy, I just connected mine and it work beautifully. thank you very much. If you dont mine me asking, what accent is that, I mean where are you from in UK?

  • @quietsparks1

    Thanks for the comment.

    Accent is Darwen, Lancashire!

  • can you fit an old t45 honeywell boiler and hot tank programmer, to a combi boiler baxi 28 duo tec? do you no if you can please. it has 240 volt contacts on it

  • @russkidd3535

    I don't know.

If you follow the link to the forum from my channel page you can ask in the central heating forum ;-)

  • Great ... used this to install my cm927. Thanks

  • @SHAH267

  • hi i have one of these, i cant recomend them enough! now my mum and dad acutually know when to put the heating on as the display show accurate room air temp!!! fits easy!!! work well - good video

  • @nagz121

    Thanks for the comment

  • hi can you confirm if you connect the switching wires in the thermostat to A and C or A and B and also which live do you use in the thermostat aswell please when connecting the live and neutral wires?

    Thanks

  • @gazandkate

The switching wires in this instance connected to A and B, but it depends on the boiler that you are connecting it to.

I think I connected the L to the first one close to the N, but it should not matter as they are linked, so you can use either.

If you want to double check what you are doing please make a post in my forum (link on channel page) and post the boiler make and model and also the thermostat make and model and one of the heating guys will confirm.

  • @ultimatehandyman Thanks for that. I will be using the same thermostat that you used but at the moment all i know is that the combi boiler is a Halstead boiler (not a condensing boiler) as its in the house we will be moving to shortly. do you need me to get in touch when i move in or will it wire the same as the one you wired up?

  • @gazandkate

If you want to double check what you are doing please make a post in my forum (link on channel page) and post the boiler make and model and also the thermostat make and model and one of the heating guys will confirm ;-)

  • was that also a timer !! i noticed it had date and program on it.

  • @9inety9

Yes, it has the time and date on it so you can programme it, although I just use it to keep the room temperature at between 19-22 degrees.

  • @9inety9 It's a CM921 so you can set it to automatically come at different times at specific temperatures throughout the day e.g. 0800 - 20ºc, 1130 - 16ºc 1830 - 21ºc 2330 - 15ºc and so on... The CM927 allows you to set different temperatures and times above but for every day of the week. If you just wanted a simple wireless stat without all the timing features then I would get the DT90E.

  • Can you fit any make wireless thermo to any make combi boiler?

  • @benny5825

I'm not 100% sure but I think so. Most boilers are designed to take a room thermostat, so the wireless thermo just takes the place of that. I have been told that some wireless thermostats are better than others, which is why I bought the Honeywell one.

  • i have that same hammer lol :)

  • @igbhd

I'm sure I have had that hammer more than 20 years lol :-)

  • Did you purchase that, man.. that must cost a fortune!

  • @mathias921

Yes, I bought it from screwfix.

It was about £120 but because the room is kept at the exact temperature it should pay for itself because of the lower gas bills.

  • You should consider using wire end sleeves instead of soldering the ends. just google "end sleeves". It's a much quicker method.

  • @Arnthorg

That is right, we use boot lace ferrules at work. But most DIYers will no even of heard of them and so I thought I'd solder the ends instead.

  • I won't be installing a new thermostat anytime soon, but this video is still VERY informative. Great Video :D
