@drummaryan - there's nothing wrong with ones heart being pricked or moved towards doing that which is right and not knowing the way or what comes next. Whether it be 2 men walking with the resurrected Lord and feeling that heart within them burn or be it those at the day of Pentacost when ALL felt of the burning fire of the Holy Ghost, it is the way that God confirms his goodness among men. Furthermore, do as suggested by the admonishment of Paul If there be anything good or praiseworthy, seek!
@THELDSLIFE Oh no I agree with you, we need to listen to God with our heart too. The holy spirit speaks to us through our spirits, but we also need to study. We were given the Bible and I know that LDS dont believe it is completely trustworthy, but I will listen to it because it is Gods word, and the BOM contradicts what the Bible says. I will follow Jesus before I follow a religion/church. God said his word is to be used to know of truth and to point out the false.
@ZorroTech88 The question here is not one of "faith", but one of "truth". Truth welcomes objective analysis and critical scrutiny. The Book of Mormon fails those measures miserably.
Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidences in order to be viewed as having any credibility. The so-called "evidences" you propose have yet to be scrutinized, authenticated, or tied to BoM by independent, unbiased experts. "Curious hieroglyphics" by me means substantiates anything in BoM.
@TheBrookeism I'd love to see this new DVD as well!!
More "could be's", might be's", may someday prove to be's, along with more Mormon excuses as to why no Non-LDS affiliated experts are unable to authenticate ANY of these so-called "evidences".
New King James Version (NKJV) 10 Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
A revelation for the book of mormon. Tell me, ignoramus, how does this scripture apply to your false religion? LOL
"out of the earth." You guys think your three headed trinitarian anthropomorphic goo jebus came from the ground?
So, "the comparisons look very good", do they?? Well, how about conducting archaeological excavations that will confirm these findings?? The geography, anthropology, agronomy, zoology, metallurgy, and numismatic evidences all agree with the historicity of The Bible; yet with The Book of Mormon, all we get are excuses and quasi-evidences that LDS apparently has no intention of scrutinizing in further depth.
@CounterCultureLives Great observation! How comical it is here that they have a native of Mexico say that they haven't found anything...yet. They won't. C'mon, Mormons! How about the "silliness" factor? The "seer stones" and "the magic hat" he look at "The stones" in. The "angel" Moron...i? I think Smith had his victims, I mean adherents, in mind commin' up with that one. Another..."Jesus & his "brother" satan".....they can't be serious!! but they are. One of 'em is running for Pres.Lord help us
@bheadh Having LDS's claimed "evidences" authenticated by unbiased, independent, credible experts would open up economic floodgates. Central/South American countries would derive new flows of American dollars from religious pilgrimages & tourism. Any Non-LDS university's schools of archaeology & anthropology would gain in academic stature and new endowments . LDS's membership rolls would swell with new active, tithing converts, as opposed to membership gains from baptizing dead people. ;o)
@CounterCultureLives Alas, it hasn't though. They're still baptizing dead people. For the celestial marriage...officiated by Jesus and his brother, satan.
@CounterCultureLives The Mormons dont count membership from number of baptisms for the dead, an unfair untrue statement, also they dont have finacial concerns, not one member gets paid by the church each has their own job and each pays a 10% tithe from that job to the church. As far as arch & anth stature the evidence for many things exists but only acknowledged when it fits a predetermined pattern or outcome.
@CounterCultureLives If evidence is needed, then there must be something to prove, to prove something there must be a method of proving. A Scientific Method: Jan 30, 1876 the Lousville Journal reports in Columbia Kentucky "curious hieroglyphics" found in a cave carved into the wall on the head rock of a vault inside which three skeletons are found with their swords still by their sides so old they crumble to the touch.
@CounterCultureLives In Aug 1881 in Hazelton Penn. the Sentinal reports that while blasting 475ft below the surface a skeleton is uncovered complete with sheild and sword and is in the possesion of Mr. McCauley in Ashley. 475ft below the surface............academic stature u say? If a history prior 2 the native americas existed how could the murder & theft of them and their land be justified? they had 2 be savages didnt they? history=culture=intelegence=people=created by God=unalienable rights
@bheadh First the OT the seer stones are used by moses along with breastplate with one jewel for each tribe which glowed 2 determine which tribe 2 do which task given by God, (dont forget about the silly magic used by moses to turn his rod into a snake or water from a rock that cant be serious either) also no archiological evidence to prove isrealites ever slaves under egypt, but we believe that dont we? I digress one mans silly is another mans strong belief, becareful the labels u put on things
@ZorroTech88 That was MOSES in the Old Testament, not some charlatan from the 19th century. By the way it's "archaeology". So I tend to believe what was ALREADY in the bible, not what was reported by a known charlatan, womanizer, and public drunkard (as reported in newspapers at the time EVERYWHERE HE WENT). Christianity is a Trinitarian religion, no matter what you people think. Yes, you do believe Jesus was satans "brother". Satan was God's CREATION. God only has one SON. Satan wasn't born.
@bheadh I have to say you are very convincing...I believe that God, my heavenly Father, has many sons and daughters, however not all will return to him, I do believe that Jesus was Gods only begotten Son, and if in fact he was born of a virgin, then wouldnt that make him "created" by God? just a thought, but if you are thinking of Jesus before he was born on this earth, dont you believe he was God before, So how can he have been his son at the same time? You dont have to answer I allready know
@bheadh Second Mormons believe that Jesus is Gods Son, not the Father, but the Son, It is not fair to imply that they view Jesus and Satan as equals or that the Mormons think Satan is good, The Mormons believe that You, me, Jesus and Satan are all sons of the same Heavenly Father, therefore brothers, each with there own individual purpose and acomplishments, I recall two brothers Cain and Able is one equal to the other or is one blessed and one cursed, because of their actions? Again be careful
@ZorroTech88 You "BE CAREFUL"! about Your "religion"! (I call it a cult, so do most other Christians) The vast majority of Christianity doesn't consider "mormonism" Christianity. You, the SDAs and a couple others, were made up by MEN. Not very good men, as explained in the last post.
@bheadh OK I will b careful thanks, but my "religion" can take care of itself...One final question, if the vast majority of Christianity say jumped off a bridge, would u? One final point, Moses was not a very good man, he was raised by pegan slavers, and went along with it till he found out he was one of slaves, then murdered in cold blood, but God used him anyway, God uses imperfect men 2 deliver his messages in the past present and future. We probably agree on that even if we dont on which men
After watching this and several other videos on the results, or non-results, of the Archaeology being done by the LDS I would be very concerned and very reluctant to base any of my beliefs of those findings.
I know that Faith is evidence without evidence but in this case the entire narrative of the BoM is in question and that puts Joseph's "Visions", Teaching and conclusions in question.
Mormonism stands or falls on Joseph's credibility.
There is, so far, nothing to support Joseph's narrative.
None would ever...ever find any proof to show that the Book of Mormon is or is not true. Dont worry too much about this whether you a LDS or not. If you are a faithful LDS member dont be talking about Guatemala or Mexico to proof that the book is true.
Wow I thought I was going to wowed. Not so much....Besides Aztec where not lost tribes of Israel....they beheaded people alot. Awesome civilizations though....
So no archaeological proof for the Book of Mormon just feelings right? is that what was said here? So if you feel that your doctor is good then you should trust him to operate on you right? No need for any proof or evedance just feelings? yet this is how you will base your salvation on? FEELINGS!
@Exodus314IAM Obviously, you do not know what "feelings" we are pointing out to, because you have never experienced it. Those "feelings" we are pertaining to is the Holy Ghost, which gives you witness of its truth. It's like a hidden knowledge that you didn't know that was there, but was unlocked just at that moment. You do not know what we're talking about not unless you've experienced the emotions that the Holy Ghost has brought.
I know the Book of Mormon is true because I received a personal witness from the Spirit like, Paul spoke of in Corinthians. He said if we don't know Christ by the Spirit, we don't know him!
@LDS4Life71 seems that mormons beg to differ on the location of Zarahemla. FAIR recognizes that faithful individuals and scholars can honestly disagree on where Book of Mormon events took place; there is no revealed or officially accepted geography. FAIR provides an online reference to over 60 different geographic models.
We draw strength from the scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, Pearl of Great Price), are blessed by the counsel of latter-day Prophets, touched by the strength of each others spirit, and bask in the glow of a child so soon from his heavenly home. Our doctrine gives us hope in times of despair, courage when faith falters, meaning when we doubt, and the love of our Savior at all time.
We learn to overlook faults and errors, love those who need our help, and care for each other. We see through practice that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ provides us with the tools and spiritual guidance to make of life a heavenly experience.
can you please post on here what the name of the entire video is, and where you can purchase it. I think it is a great video, and would like to own it.

Then how do you tell which is correct the bible, the holy quran or the book of mormon each members all have the same claims when it comes to self testimony so you need more the that exuse mormons.
@wachnathan The claim of the Mormons (specifically the sect named The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) is that if the Book of Mormon is true then EVERYTHING IN THE HOLY BIBLE IS PROVEN TRUE. unlike the comparison of the competing bible and quran, the book of mormon comlements the bible showing that the middle east wasn't the only side of the world waiting for the Savior. Jesus of Nazereth is Lord of all and shows himself to the faithful anywhere he pleases.
@shuaster Wheres the data to back that up? the middle east invented theism so it speaks for itself it has tons of data but america has none period to authenticate the Book of mormon not to mention Joesph Smith has been guilty for fraud and was kinda a male slut. There is no defense for the Book of mormon is has been debunked and ripped apart truthfully its the walking dead it just has a lot of money to keep it going for now, anyways people are getting smarter these days they will find out.
@wachnathan have you studied the book of mormon? have you actually got data to back up your claim? We know that Christ continued to show himself to people after his crucifixion. WHY WOULDN'T HE SHOW HIMSELF TO THE AMERICAS? We know that Joseph Smith wasn't perfect but he never claimed to be more than a man. I have studied the LDS faith by practice. If people would spend more time teaching their own beliefs instead of tearing down others will get a lot further. LDS church 14,000,000 and growing.
@shuaster All it takes is for you to read the Book of Mormon and research it yourself the very book itself has the wrong discription of american culture its animals, plants etc. There is a ton of plagiarism from the bible and the Freemasons book you can actually look at the plagiarism for yourself there is no exuse for this none your belief system with all do respect is very easy to debunk and people need to know this information if lying is a sin your all in trouble my friend.
@wachnathan I have read the book of Mormon straight through 3 times. I have focused my studies on it for many years. I know what it says. like I said before tell me why your beliefs bring people to a better way of life and a more Christ like life and I will listen. The reason I have stayed with the LDS faith is because I have seen that the way of life that we promote brings life into an eternal perspective giving us hope and a sence of peace. What do you offer? other than a list of fluff.
@wachnathan as for the lying issue. It is my understanding that Joseph smith did not join the Masons till the settlement of Nauvoo in 1841 the translation of the Book of Mormon was complete in 1829. as for the bible quotes look at where they come from and why they are given each section of quotation has reason given. the gospel of St. Matthew quotes the old testement to prove a point, Paul's epistles use prophecy. Jesus himself fought off temptation with scriptures. this pattern is repeated.
@wachnathan Theism, or the belief in at least one deity was not invented by Middle Easterners. Theism is well documented in ancient America. Belief in God was revealed anciently to Adam and we are all his posterity, even those in the Americas.
@pr0f3550r Do you know anything about culture? ive been to Israel and the middle east and south america there is no connection at all besides Israelites never had good boats nor were they allowed to build temples outside of Israel accounding to old testament laws. Why do mormons make things up? all there data has been refuted over and over again. Why do christians debate and mormons don't? why does the mormon church not dig up the hill cumorah if there evdience is so real? Think about it..

@pr0f3550r I need legit evidence for me to buy into mormonism but so far there is "zero" evidence to support your if it is your belief. The problem is to that actually i would respect mormonism more if they didn't try to make up evidence and lie to the public but they have because they have the dollars to do it. Mormons also try to appeal to emotions and faith to avoid the lack of evidence its very deceptive if you disagree i would like to know whats your reasoning for it what "logical" anwser.
What about Zelph? Joesph couldn't keep quiet! Why because God in His infinite wisdom let him convict himself of his tall tales. Bigfoot?= Cain American indians= main decendent's of Israel. Why did Jesus say His Word would not fail, if there were 3 Nephites left on the earth like the story goes, how could it have the failed? You see when you have that kind of relationship with Christ you can't shut your mouth about Him. God has shown you so many thing's wrong with Joe's gospel. Mark 7:6-16
"I have never yet preached a sermon and sent it out to the Children of men, that they may not call scripture!" Bringham Young, Journal of Discourses, Volume 13, page 95. "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." Journal of Discourses, Volume 10, page 110.
How did Nephi with a few men on a new continent build a temple like Solomon’s while Solomon needed 163,300 workmen and seven years to build his temple? What kind of chariots did the Nephites have in 90 B.C. some 1500 years before the introduction of the wheel on the Western Hemisphere? Why did Christ not return in 1891 as Joseph Smith predicted?
@kiwichristian2009 How did Moses part the Red Sea? Why did God allow polygamy back in the day but not now? (David & Solomon) How in the world did Christ heel the sick? You are asking questions about the BOM that can be asked of the Bible. We don't have all the answers, we just know (believe) it happened because that is what is written. People question how we can believe the BOM to be true. I ask, "How do you believe the Bible to be true?" I certainly believe the Bible, but not b/c of proof.
@CorbinAllred Hello, my friend. So, you are a person who answers a question with a question? If you believe the Bible, how do you contend with the contradictions between the Bible and the BOM? Which takes precedence?
@kiwichristian2009 I don't always answer a question with a question, only to those who ask silly questions to begin with that can only adequately be answered with another question. You didn't even respond to what I had to say, you only have yet ANOTHER question. You cannot contend with what I said before, because there's is NOTHING to contend about. I have a valid point. Proof is not in archeology or anything else. It's God communicating with YOU.
@kiwichristian2009 To answer your question, I will again use another question. You see, I've spoken with hundreds, maybe thousands of people that ask the EXACT same questions, over and over again. You are about the 8 billionth person to ask such a question. You should be ashamed. It's clear you don't realize that even the Bible itself contradicts itself, per se. However, this isn't the doing of God, but of man and his translation thereof. The Bible has been passed down and manipulated by man.
@kiwichristian2009 And so the question is, How do you explain the contradiction in the Bible? How do you determine WHICH prophet has it right?! See how silly that sounds? Completely. I believe the Bible to be the word of God, AS FAR AS IT IS TRANSLATED CORRECTLY. The Bible isn't perfect, it can't be after being passed down from hand to hand of people not authorized to translate scripture. The BOM however was given to one man, Jospeh Smith, who translated it by the power of God.
Was it right or wrong for Solomon to have many wives? (See Jacob 2:24; D & C 132:38,39) Which is it?If the book of Mormon is true, why hasn’t a valid geography been established for the book?If the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Gospel, why doesn’t it teach that God was once a man?If Gods are individuals who have passed through mortality and have progressed to Godhood, how has one person of the Trinity (the Holy Spirit) attained Godhood without getting a body?
@kiwichristian2009 Jacob 2:24 refers only to David & Solomon, which we understand to mean the wives and concubines that the Lord did NOT give unto them. 1 Kgs. 11:1; Neh. 13:26 (25–27). There's no contradiction. When the Lord commands, that's what His people do. Geography has nothing to do with the truthfulness of a book, but we do have strong evidence that points to Mesoamerica. watch?v=D6bgHHm_Ubc. Christ was a God before he attained a body, wasn't he? Yep, sure was.
@kiwichristian2009 I'm not sure what this has to do with what I responded to. And your question is a bit broad...explain, because I know you're looking for a particular answer.
@kiwichristian2009 Well, the word "God" can be interpreted different ways. In the OT, "God" was almost always referred to Jehovah who we know is Jesus Christ. But Jesus Christ himself is known as the "Son of God." So that makes two "Gods". Well, the Spirit is part of the Godhead. He is a personage of spirit, without a body. Only that way can he dwell in us. Sad thing is, you want me to talk about us all becoming Gods. Unfortunately, that's not a doctrine understood until the gospel is understood
I just answered the question. If you can't put two and two together, then I'm afraid you'll never get an answer. You are just like the Pharisees. Asking questions of a disciple that are not only meaningless, but ONLY used to corner and discount. Sorry my friend, that's not the way of Jesus Christ.
@kiwichristian2009 Psalms 82:6 teaches us that we are all gods, or at least, we can become so. Why else would we be taught in Romans 8:14-18 that we are joint-heirs with Christ?! You cannot be a joint-heir without being similar too in "rank", so to speak, as the other joint-heir. And so, as Christ is a God, and once a man, so was GOD, our heavenly father, once a man. We are men with the potential to become as Christ and our Heavenly Father. Not to BECOME them, or take their place, only as heirs.
LOL.. looks like the mormons are deperate for some kind of evidence. MORMONISM IS FALSE!! stop trying to make stuff up and show the world something real! "oh we believe this" believe, think, wishing and hoping is the only thing the mormons have!
@MALDITTOROKKERO There's no excuse. Everybody gets to choose what they will to believe. You can call it false all u want, that's what the Pharisees did of Christ, which makes you one of them. This church, known by many as the "Mormon" Church, is the true church of Christ on the earth. No one can prove that to you, & know one will. Just like no one can or will prove to you that the Bible & everything it says is true. We learn by faith, not by proof. The Lord warned of sign-seekers, don't be one.
@CorbinAllred hey look! there a bird outside my window!! the book of mormon must be true!! LOL..
but you are right! you can believe in star/planets named kolob of blabla. and if mormonism is "true" then scientology is also true and less ridiculous than mormonism ;)
@MALDITTOROKKERO You comment didn't make any sense, was irrational, and off point. If you responded logically, we might be able to have a normal conversation. If Mormonism is true, everything else is false, as God told Joseph Smith. The reason lies with the Book of Mormon. If that sacred book is false, then so is the religion that lays claim on it. It's as simple as that. The church is either the only true church, or it's false like that rest. There's only one, just as in times of old.
@MALDITTOROKKERO What sad is that I have NOTHING to gain by "converting" you. My job isn't to convert you, that's the Spirits job. The problem is, he only works with those that are open and seeking the truth. THAT you cannot deny. And so, I extend an invitation to read the Book of Mormon with an open heart. If you will do this and pray to God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, with real intent, he will ABSOLUTELY let you know the truth (or not!) of that book. James 1:5
@CorbinAllred i have been seeking for something real and mormonism is clearly false! ;) and stop quoting the bible! your mormon beliefs dont back you up with that. Mr "we believe in the bible as long as it's translated correctly"
@MALDITTOROKKERO How can you tell ME what I believe?! Telling me to stop quoting the Bible? You ought to take a step back & look at what you're writing. My mormon beliefs don't back me up...haha, wow. If you knew anything at all, you'd know very well that the Bible has TONS of translations. Which one is correct? Any one? They BASICALLY say the same thing? Please. There's no excuse. You cannot not tell me that you've READ the BOM and sincerely asked God if it's true. You don't have the humility.
@CorbinAllred sure Mr "we believe in the bible as long as it's translated correctly"
one of your mormon boyfriends even told me "i'd be atheist if it wasnt for the book of mormon" that clearly shows me ONCE AGAIN what mormons are all about!!
@SUPERSTUD6000 Name calling? Really? Clearly you're filled with hate and therefore the devil. If you have ANY religion at all, you're certainly no disciple of it. If you're Christian, you're certainly no disciple of Christ. Threatening? Is that what you call a threat? Me calling you out for being cowardly calling people names? Nope, just calling it like it is. Just like Christ did the Pharisees. Find something better to do with your time, uh?
@CorbinAllred i wish i was the devil, he gets all the chicks. btw, your jesus was a homosexual. why do you think he was followed by so many dudes? gay orgies, thats why. moron. now get back to your cult and inbreed some more, your cousins arent going to impregnate themselves.
Only three of those eight witnesses ever claimed to actually "physically see" the plates. And of those three, at least one later recanted, (Cowdery) all three were excommunicated from the church, and two never came back. Martin Harris, also one the three witnesses changed his religion 8 times! Mormon, Quaker, Shaker, and anything else that came along. I wouldn't call these witnesses very relialbe.
@jzwillows Obviously they won't provide a real source... Oliver Cowdery never stated his testimony was false.. In fact, he had every reason in the world to renounce it because he was far separated from the church - but he couldn't and didn't dare do it because he KNEW it was all true..... It would have been very easy and perhaps beneficial (even lucrative!) to deny everything that happened. But he knew it would cost his soul to deny.
satan controls all the people that belive in the book of moron because they belive in a huge lie and the deciever is taking alot of seouls with him so go ahead believe in the wrong jesus and plung you and your familys to hell ! you have know prooof that and of these things excist none be carefull because the bible tell us our hearts are decietfull so dont go buy your heart!!! Thats another lie written in the book of moron!!!
@janetrenae11 Satan controls all the people who don't believe in the Book of Mormon by making them think they have a right to decide everyone that believes it is going to hell.
@janetrenae11 Let's put this into perspective, shall we? We have no solid proof that the Red Sea was parted, that water flowed from a rock, that Noah built an ark, that Christ healed the sick, or any number of accounts in the Bible. Why do you or anybody else believe these things?! It could be Satan controlling people to believe in the Bible, right?! Have you read the BOM? Didn't think so. Had you, you'd KNOW that it's words are true. It speaks of nothing but Christ and his Gospel.
I think that if one used archeology to feel good about the Bible, one would feel good about the Bible. I am sorry you cannot hear yourself. The Bible is the most correct book on earth. It is God breathed.
Mormon Archaeologist Thomas Ferguson spent his life's fortune digging for Book of Mormon evidence in MesoAmerica. After bankrupting himself over decades of searching he came to the conclusion that the Book of Mormon is a work of 19th C. fiction.
@AxelQC Yes. But why do mormons not abandon their religion. My sense is that because their is enough truth about Jesus ( amidst the deceptions) many at the reading of truth, turn from what is called sin, just like we do. They ask God for help, forgiveness and mercy. They know that God is out there and loves people. Yes they are aiming toward a distorted image of Jesus but who has the perfect knowledge of doctrine - which denomination. The early church didn't understand it all yet sought God
@messianicreformer There are no deceptions in our church, my friend. We don't follow any distorted version of Jesus Christ, only Him. But I appreciate that you recognize us to be Christians and on a path of righteousness. The Book of Mormon is what makes or breaks our religion. If it's true, then our church is true. Right? If not, then our church is false. That's all there is to it. The only way to know anything is true is to ask of God, as James directed. James 1:5. Read the BOM & ask Him!
@CorbinAllred I don't think God rejects everyone who has wrong theology. However, wrong theology does distort our image of God and thus filters our relatioship of Him. Just like drugs may do to someone. They may have difficulty with relationships because of being under the influence. The Mormon Church does indeed have distortions. God was not as Adam. Jesus doesn't live on another planet and you won't get your own. Jesus and the Father are one along with the HS. It just hurts to admit it.
The Book of Mormon is very explicit about what the Nephites brought with them to this land: domestic animals, domestic crops, all of Old World origin; metallurgy, the compass, things like that.... Plenty of evidence for all kinds of other things that are Native American, but nothing there. And that's the problem: They simply haven't shown up.
@AxelQC Mmm, not quite. Watch this: watch?v=D6bgHHm_Ubc. Did we find Noah's boat? Nope. Did we find the rock that water flowed from? Nope. Did we find evidence of the Red Sea parting? Nope. But we believe these things happened, because they are written in a book that we believe to be true.
The Nephite Church of Christ ( also Mormon ) has witnesses too and the use of testimony for conversion . Within Mormon culture, the word "testimony" has become synonymous with "belief." An individual who no longer believes in the religion is referred to as having "lost their testimony."
@kramd1 There's no such thing as PROOF with God. That's not how he words. Don't you remember what he said about sign seekers? Matt 12:39 "But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a asign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas." Seeking proof that something is real, i.e. physical evidence, it NOT the way the Lord teaches us. We learn from His Spirit. We are presented with materal, we read, we pray and ask. That's it.
But then why would God send His Holy Spirit to a mormon believing in Salvation through Jesus Christ if the book of Mormon is not God's literal Word. Because isn't the salvation of a sincere heart repenting from sin more important than perfection of doctrine since doctrines' job is to lead us to God and salvation. This is why there are many abberrant groups who, although, they have the wrong bible or interpretation, they sense God. Because He His mercy will draw them to Himself, nevertheless.
Although much in the mormon bible is true especially, the biblical passages, much of the archeology has proved to be incorrect. This has been proven archeologically accurate as the bronze ago was~ 4,400 yrs ago when biblical account records Tuval-cain to have lived. Those who came to the U.S., it appears they came before but in the book of Mormon, Nephi 1 it mentions the Indian natives as forging weapons of Iron. However, there was no Iron work in the Americas, neither evidence to support it.
We should all thank God for keeping the physical evidence of the BoM a mystery. Such irrefutable substantiating forensic evidence proving the book's authenticity would place everyone under condemnation for what's written on the pages. This goes for members of the church as well as non-members.
@kramd1 The only evidence for the book of Mormon is the testimony of Joseph Smiths testimony. One person is not enough evidence. Even the bible says there must be two witnesses. The many verses taken from Psalms and other parts of the bible allow enough truth wherewith people can see that there is something called sin, salvation, repentence and most other JudeoChristian concepts. Many Mormons have a good sense about these things yet many have the wrong idea about Jesus.
@messianicreformer There were actually eight witnesses to the Book of Mormon who saw the plates of Gold. So he isn't the only witness to it to be technical.
Majority of all LDS media hooks cling on the PROOF word and so on. There is no real evidence at all people. You have the farms group and fair group along with the self appointed apologist that all have there own assumptions and notions on where the bofm lands are or where the great battles took place. For a church that so many claim to be true...it is sure hard to prove its validity.
“But even if we or an angel from heaven (moroni) should preach to you a gospel other than what we have preached to you, curse be on him!” Galatians 1:6-9 Mormon’s are not prepared for the coming apocalypse, Huge Sorrow will be to the mormon who refuse to see the truth, You have been warned your fall will be great. Read the BIBLE ONLY!
@kramd1 Evidence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believers is not necessarily evidence that their bible is true but that they have repented from sin and turned to God and that God accepts their repentence. God does this apart from doctrinal perfection, otherwise, no one would be save -most of us don't believe yet all the truth God has spelled out. The reformation is still happening. IN the 1st century most Christians didn't understand the Trinity, Deity of Christ, Baptism - see acts.
@messianicreformer God does or does not do whatever .. blah blah The video touts PROOF and supplies none.
Your talking about repentance and forgiveness being saved and what GOD does/nt the reformation / potestant movement of yet another version. Mormons alone have 100 splinter groups. Any how way off topic . Where's the PROOF of the Book of Mormon.? Evidence.
Even the Quran has the same affect does that make it true? Even scientology claims enlightenment so you really need more to bring to the table to convince people that its true. Faith in your hart means nothing when you can have the same enlightenment from different sorces even radical islam. For a church that claims to be super moral sure does make up a lot of exuses and lies.
God doesn't confirm truth through physical evidences. People seeking proof (or in other words sign) can search from now until the Millenium without getting any closer to God. Jesus said: "An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign (proof); and there shall no sign be given to it." Check out this video at youtube: "Is There Scientific Proof Authenticating the Book of Mormon?" by modern apostle Melvin J. Ballard. The Book of Mormon came from God. That's my testimony.
@norgaards . Why then the title of this video. "proof" . as in countless mormon videos do .... It's a hit and run smoke screen of half assed evidences approach .
Throw this crap out there then retreat to " evil sign seekers". : [
why do mormons these intellectual mormons treat proof or evidence as evil.
Peterson says " If you rely on evidence your in a constant state of flux.
" it's an aid to testimony" " the most powerful evidence is the the spirit" ... PROOF should equal sufficient evidence or argument for the truth of a proposition. EVIDENCE is the currency by which one fulfills the burden of proof.
Neither evidence or proof seems applicable to the B of M
wow really so like thousands of years before the technology existed some dude a nd a few people took one of the two longest possible routes to the Americas and are the ancestors of the mezzo American civilizations. despite all the scientific proof and evidence this is what some people choose to believe.
are people so afraid of the unknown, do people need a reason why so bad, that they will believe anything that is put in front of there face???
The honest in heart who see all the anachronisms, racism, and plagiarism of the KJV in the Book of Mormon will know that there isn't any archaeological evidence for it, because it is plainly obvious that it is a 19th century work of fiction.
I don't believe the Book of Mormon took place in mesoamerica, i.e. mexico, yucatan peninsula, etc. A much more reasonable location is in North America. From the great lakes down to the gulf of Mexico, from the Mississippi to the east coast. It is much more likely that this is the location for a number of reasons. Look up "mound builders" "adena" "hopewell" and contrast these with the book of mormon, it will blow you away.
Elder Russel Nelson said, in the last General Conference, "You can invite a friend to read the Book of Mormon. Explain that it is not a novel or a history book."
WOW!!! "NOT a...HISTORY". IF the BoM is NOT historical, what are the implications of that?? Not "HISTORICAL" means that the people, places and events IN the BoM DIDN'T EXIST or DIDN'T HAPPEN!--which is what we've been saying for 10 years or more!!
IS this yet another forced concession by LDS, brought on by DNA science?
By Joseph Allen.... taken from his book "Exploring the Lands of the Book of Mormon"
And it came to pass, as they understood they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold, they saw a Man descending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them.... (3 Nephi 11:8)
Don't pin your testimony on foolish things like evidence. NO! Rather construct your testimony on the unbreakable bedrock of a cozy feeling. After all, that's how I know Where the Red Fern grows is true.
@GohModley And Gandalf was your father, and you fed your kids to the giant spider in the cave. yeah we know you live a fantasy world, and you talk tough, but in fact you are the real coward here.
@GohModley Please look at the website on my page by Nephi Project / Quetzacoatl and you read the whole thing. Or Google Joseph Allen And his book "Exploring the Lands of the Book of Mormon."
I ordered a nice text just other day and I'm waiting for it to arrive from Amazon com
If what the these "Scholars" say is true then why even bother looking for evidence to support the book of Mormon? If all else fails and there is no evidence to support there beliefs, just pull on those tender heart strings and play mournful music and remind everyone the wonderful things that are written in the book of Mormon...Classic, just classic.
The sermon on the mount is a collection of Jesus' sayings. It was not a record of an actual event. Funny how the sermon on the mount was quoted practically verbatim by the visiting Christ to the Nephites. Funnier still that his American sermon on the mount was sans the JST corrections. Oh, but don't worry. It's still true. Honest.
Atheism is a rejection of a claim that Gods exist. I reject it because there is no proof of Gods. That is all I have to do to justify my "beliefs". The burden of proof lies on those who claim Gods exist.
There will never be archaeological evidence, little own proof for the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a Satanic trap. It looks biblical because it plagiarizes 25 chapters many verses, and many stories from it. Then it tells you you are condemned and a servant of the devil if you doubt its contradictions of the Bible, and other lies that are in it.
@DrPorterRockwell How about it, "Wolf Hunter". Embarrass me. DNA evidence, the Book of Abraham, etc. choose your point and lets go. We both know that when it comes to science the LDS church comes up short.
You already embarrassed yourself being a Godless hypocrite, get used to the feeling.
Do tell us why your obsessive focus is on the LDS and desperately trying to prove to yourself through science what you know to be true? Apostate? Well?
@DrPorterRockwell My "obsessive focus" is on the LDS church because I was born a member. I have first hand knowledge of the facts. I have studied them.
I am not obsessed, I do this for fun. I'm not a US citizen, but I'm able to construct a coherent sentence. You are not.
"..what you know to be true? Apostate? Well?"
I'm not sure what you're aiming at, but the scientific method doesn't anwer to you whims.
@DrPorterRockwell I haven't left the church completely because I was born a member. I haven't left the church because I have friends in the church. This is my reason. Dispute it.
I give you argument after argument to answer, but you fail to do so. Come on. I'm waiting.
You stay in the same Church that you blatantly deride because you have "friends" in it? How noble of you.
You are right, I can't argue against your "brilliance" that has stemmed from "first hand knowledge of the facts" which you "studied". Who can argue with that? lolz
As the coward that you are, how about we discuss the real reason why you are disenchanted with the Lord's Church. You know those grievous sins? Are they making you happy? Have they been worth it?
@DrPorterRockwell I stay in the church because all my real friends are friends of my father. My family history is complicated. Present to me a fact of truth, and I will answer it in full.
You are weak. I have been nothing but truthful, yet you continue to attack me.
"Complicated"? lolz sounds like a dramatic novel which no one cares about.
We know the real reason why you are an apostate. Same patterns, same reasons which we all learn in Sunday School in what really leads to apostasy.
Hope those grievous sins are worth it. If they were, you wouldn't be here. Sorry you are nothing new to the Lord's Church and truth, now go and chew on that fact.
Of course, that is what every single apostate says, so predictable. You are the exception to the rule, we believe you.
You've already made your ignorant and ill informed conclusions, but I highly recommend an actual education instead of armchair academics that you are only capable of.
This is only the beginning.

drummaryan 1 month ago

ZorroTech88 2 months ago
@ZorroTech88 The question here is not one of "faith", but one of "truth". Truth welcomes objective analysis and critical scrutiny. The Book of Mormon fails those measures miserably.
Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidences in order to be viewed as having any credibility. The so-called "evidences" you propose have yet to be scrutinized, authenticated, or tied to BoM by independent, unbiased experts. "Curious hieroglyphics" by me means substantiates anything in BoM.

Psalm 85:10-11
New King James Version (NKJV) 10 Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
A revelation for the book of mormon. Tell me, ignoramus, how does this scripture apply to your false religion? LOL
"out of the earth." You guys think your three headed trinitarian anthropomorphic goo jebus came from the ground?
LDS4Life71 4 months ago

One of 'em is running for Pres.Lord help us
bheadh 2 months ago
@bheadh Having LDS's claimed "evidences" authenticated by unbiased, independent, credible experts would open up economic floodgates. Central/South American countries would derive new flows of American dollars from religious pilgrimages & tourism. Any Non-LDS university's schools of archaeology & anthropology would gain in academic stature and new endowments . LDS's membership rolls would swell with new active, tithing converts, as opposed to membership gains from baptizing dead people. ;o)
CounterCultureLives 2 months ago 2
@CounterCultureLives Alas, it hasn't though. They're still baptizing dead people. For the celestial marriage...officiated by Jesus and his brother, satan.
bheadh 2 months ago
@CounterCultureLives The Mormons dont count membership from number of baptisms for the dead, an unfair untrue statement, also they dont have finacial concerns, not one member gets paid by the church each has their own job and each pays a 10% tithe from that job to the church. As far as arch & anth stature the evidence for many things exists but only acknowledged when it fits a predetermined pattern or outcome.
ZorroTech88 2 months ago
@CounterCultureLives If evidence is needed, then there must be something to prove, to prove something there must be a method of proving. A Scientific Method: Jan 30, 1876 the Lousville Journal reports in Columbia Kentucky "curious hieroglyphics" found in a cave carved into the wall on the head rock of a vault inside which three skeletons are found with their swords still by their sides so old they crumble to the touch.
ZorroTech88 2 months ago

ZorroTech88 2 months ago
@ZorroTech88 That was MOSES in the Old Testament, not some charlatan from the 19th century. By the way it's "archaeology". So I tend to believe what was ALREADY in the bible, not what was reported by a known charlatan, womanizer, and public drunkard (as reported in newspapers at the time EVERYWHERE HE WENT). Christianity is a Trinitarian religion, no matter what you people think. Yes, you do believe Jesus was satans "brother". Satan was God's CREATION. God only has one SON. Satan wasn't born.
bheadh 2 months ago
@bheadh I have to say you are very convincing...I believe that God, my heavenly Father, has many sons and daughters, however not all will return to him, I do believe that Jesus was Gods only begotten Son, and if in fact he was born of a virgin, then wouldnt that make him "created" by God? just a thought, but if you are thinking of Jesus before he was born on this earth, dont you believe he was God before, So how can he have been his son at the same time? You dont have to answer I allready know
ZorroTech88 2 months ago
@bheadh Second Mormons believe that Jesus is Gods Son, not the Father, but the Son, It is not fair to imply that they view Jesus and Satan as equals or that the Mormons think Satan is good, The Mormons believe that You, me, Jesus and Satan are all sons of the same Heavenly Father, therefore brothers, each with there own individual purpose and acomplishments, I recall two brothers Cain and Able is one equal to the other or is one blessed and one cursed, because of their actions? Again be careful
ZorroTech88 2 months ago
@ZorroTech88 You "BE CAREFUL"! about Your "religion"! (I call it a cult, so do most other Christians) The vast majority of Christianity doesn't consider "mormonism" Christianity. You, the SDAs and a couple others, were made up by MEN. Not very good men, as explained in the last post.
bheadh 2 months ago

LDS4Life71 8 months ago
We learn to overlook faults and errors, love those who need our help, and care for each other. We see through practice that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ provides us with the tools and spiritual guidance to make of life a heavenly experience.

Then how do you tell which is correct the bible, the holy quran or the book of mormon each members all have the same claims when it comes to self testimony so you need more the that exuse mormons.
wachnathan 9 months ago
@wachnathan The claim of the Mormons (specifically the sect named The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) is that if the Book of Mormon is true then EVERYTHING IN THE HOLY BIBLE IS PROVEN TRUE. unlike the comparison of the competing bible and quran, the book of mormon comlements the bible showing that the middle east wasn't the only side of the world waiting for the Savior. Jesus of Nazereth is Lord of all and shows himself to the faithful anywhere he pleases.
shuaster 9 months ago
@shuaster Wheres the data to back that up? the middle east invented theism so it speaks for itself it has tons of data but america has none period to authenticate the Book of mormon not to mention Joesph Smith has been guilty for fraud and was kinda a male slut. There is no defense for the Book of mormon is has been debunked and ripped apart truthfully its the walking dead it just has a lot of money to keep it going for now, anyways people are getting smarter these days they will find out.
wachnathan 9 months ago

There is a ton of plagiarism from the bible and the Freemasons book you can actually look at the plagiarism for yourself there is no exuse for this none your belief system with all do respect is very easy to debunk and people need to know this information if lying is a sin your all in trouble my friend.
wachnathan 9 months ago
@wachnathan I have read the book of Mormon straight through 3 times. I have focused my studies on it for many years. I know what it says. like I said before tell me why your beliefs bring people to a better way of life and a more Christ like life and I will listen. The reason I have stayed with the LDS faith is because I have seen that the way of life that we promote brings life into an eternal perspective giving us hope and a sence of peace. What do you offer? other than a list of fluff.
shuaster 9 months ago
@wachnathan as for the lying issue. It is my understanding that Joseph smith did not join the Masons till the settlement of Nauvoo in 1841 the translation of the Book of Mormon was complete in 1829. as for the bible quotes look at where they come from and why they are given each section of quotation has reason given. the gospel of St. Matthew quotes the old testement to prove a point, Paul's epistles use prophecy. Jesus himself fought off temptation with scriptures. this pattern is repeated.
shuaster 9 months ago
@wachnathan Theism, or the belief in at least one deity was not invented by Middle Easterners. Theism is well documented in ancient America. Belief in God was revealed anciently to Adam and we are all his posterity, even those in the Americas.

Why did Christ not return in 1891 as Joseph Smith predicted?
kiwichristian2009 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 How did Moses part the Red Sea? Why did God allow polygamy back in the day but not now? (David & Solomon) How in the world did Christ heel the sick? You are asking questions about the BOM that can be asked of the Bible. We don't have all the answers, we just know (believe) it happened because that is what is written. People question how we can believe the BOM to be true. I ask, "How do you believe the Bible to be true?" I certainly believe the Bible, but not b/c of proof.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@CorbinAllred Hello, my friend. So, you are a person who answers a question with a question? If you believe the Bible, how do you contend with the contradictions between the Bible and the BOM? Which takes precedence?
kiwichristian2009 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 I don't always answer a question with a question, only to those who ask silly questions to begin with that can only adequately be answered with another question. You didn't even respond to what I had to say, you only have yet ANOTHER question. You cannot contend with what I said before, because there's is NOTHING to contend about. I have a valid point. Proof is not in archeology or anything else. It's God communicating with YOU.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 To answer your question, I will again use another question. You see, I've spoken with hundreds, maybe thousands of people that ask the EXACT same questions, over and over again. You are about the 8 billionth person to ask such a question. You should be ashamed. It's clear you don't realize that even the Bible itself contradicts itself, per se. However, this isn't the doing of God, but of man and his translation thereof. The Bible has been passed down and manipulated by man.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 And so the question is, How do you explain the contradiction in the Bible? How do you determine WHICH prophet has it right?! See how silly that sounds? Completely. I believe the Bible to be the word of God, AS FAR AS IT IS TRANSLATED CORRECTLY. The Bible isn't perfect, it can't be after being passed down from hand to hand of people not authorized to translate scripture. The BOM however was given to one man, Jospeh Smith, who translated it by the power of God.

(See Jacob 2:24; D & C 132:38,39) Which is it?If the book of Mormon is true, why hasn’t a valid geography been established for the book?If the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Gospel, why doesn’t it teach that God was once a man?If Gods are individuals who have passed through mortality and have progressed to Godhood, how has one person of the Trinity (the Holy Spirit) attained Godhood without getting a body?
kiwichristian2009 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 Jacob 2:24 refers only to David & Solomon, which we understand to mean the wives and concubines that the Lord did NOT give unto them. 1 Kgs. 11:1; Neh. 13:26 (25–27). There's no contradiction. When the Lord commands, that's what His people do. Geography has nothing to do with the truthfulness of a book, but we do have strong evidence that points to Mesoamerica. watch?v=D6bgHHm_Ubc. Christ was a God before he attained a body, wasn't he? Yep, sure was.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@CorbinAllred How many Gods are there?
kiwichristian2009 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 I'm not sure what this has to do with what I responded to. And your question is a bit broad...explain, because I know you're looking for a particular answer.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@CorbinAllred You mentioned "A" God, so i want to know how many Gods you say there are.
kiwichristian2009 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 Well, the word "God" can be interpreted different ways. In the OT, "God" was almost always referred to Jehovah who we know is Jesus Christ. But Jesus Christ himself is known as the "Son of God." So that makes two "Gods". Well, the Spirit is part of the Godhead. He is a personage of spirit, without a body. Only that way can he dwell in us. Sad thing is, you want me to talk about us all becoming Gods. Unfortunately, that's not a doctrine understood until the gospel is understood
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@CorbinAllred Please just answer the question. How many Gods are there?
kiwichristian2009 10 months ago
I just answered the question. If you can't put two and two together, then I'm afraid you'll never get an answer. You are just like the Pharisees. Asking questions of a disciple that are not only meaningless, but ONLY used to corner and discount. Sorry my friend, that's not the way of Jesus Christ.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@kiwichristian2009 Psalms 82:6 teaches us that we are all gods, or at least, we can become so. Why else would we be taught in Romans 8:14-18 that we are joint-heirs with Christ?! You cannot be a joint-heir without being similar too in "rank", so to speak, as the other joint-heir. And so, as Christ is a God, and once a man, so was GOD, our heavenly father, once a man. We are men with the potential to become as Christ and our Heavenly Father. Not to BECOME them, or take their place, only as heirs.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
LOL.. looks like the mormons are deperate for some kind of evidence. MORMONISM IS FALSE!! stop trying to make stuff up and show the world something real! "oh we believe this" believe, think, wishing and hoping is the only thing the mormons have!
MORMONS = MASTERS OF EXCUSES
MALDITTOROKKERO 10 months ago
@MALDITTOROKKERO There's no excuse. Everybody gets to choose what they will to believe. You can call it false all u want, that's what the Pharisees did of Christ, which makes you one of them. This church, known by many as the "Mormon" Church, is the true church of Christ on the earth. No one can prove that to you, & know one will. Just like no one can or will prove to you that the Bible & everything it says is true. We learn by faith, not by proof. The Lord warned of sign-seekers, don't be one.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@CorbinAllred hey look! there a bird outside my window!! the book of mormon must be true!! LOL..
but you are right! you can believe in star/planets named kolob of blabla. and if mormonism is "true" then scientology is also true and less ridiculous than mormonism ;)
thank you for your comment!
MALDITTOROKKERO 10 months ago
@MALDITTOROKKERO You comment didn't make any sense, was irrational, and off point. If you responded logically, we might be able to have a normal conversation. If Mormonism is true, everything else is false, as God told Joseph Smith. The reason lies with the Book of Mormon. If that sacred book is false, then so is the religion that lays claim on it. It's as simple as that. The church is either the only true church, or it's false like that rest. There's only one, just as in times of old.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@MALDITTOROKKERO What sad is that I have NOTHING to gain by "converting" you. My job isn't to convert you, that's the Spirits job. The problem is, he only works with those that are open and seeking the truth. THAT you cannot deny. And so, I extend an invitation to read the Book of Mormon with an open heart. If you will do this and pray to God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, with real intent, he will ABSOLUTELY let you know the truth (or not!) of that book. James 1:5
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@CorbinAllred i have been seeking for something real and mormonism is clearly false! ;) and stop quoting the bible! your mormon beliefs dont back you up with that. Mr "we believe in the bible as long as it's translated correctly"

They BASICALLY say the same thing? Please. There's no excuse. You cannot not tell me that you've READ the BOM and sincerely asked God if it's true. You don't have the humility.

I wouldn't call these witnesses very relialbe.
musicdoc007 11 months ago
@musicdoc007 Please provide your source for Cowdery's stating his testimony was false.
jzwillows 10 months ago
@jzwillows Obviously they won't provide a real source... Oliver Cowdery never stated his testimony was false.. In fact, he had every reason in the world to renounce it because he was far separated from the church - but he couldn't and didn't dare do it because he KNEW it was all true..... It would have been very easy and perhaps beneficial (even lucrative!) to deny everything that happened. But he knew it would cost his soul to deny.

Mormon Archaeologist Thomas Ferguson spent his life's fortune digging for Book of Mormon evidence in MesoAmerica. After bankrupting himself over decades of searching he came to the conclusion that the Book of Mormon is a work of 19th C. fiction.
AxelQC 11 months ago
@AxelQC Yes. But why do mormons not abandon their religion. My sense is that because their is enough truth about Jesus ( amidst the deceptions) many at the reading of truth, turn from what is called sin, just like we do. They ask God for help, forgiveness and mercy. They know that God is out there and loves people. Yes they are aiming toward a distorted image of Jesus but who has the perfect knowledge of doctrine - which denomination. The early church didn't understand it all yet sought God
messianicreformer 11 months ago
@messianicreformer There are no deceptions in our church, my friend. We don't follow any distorted version of Jesus Christ, only Him. But I appreciate that you recognize us to be Christians and on a path of righteousness. The Book of Mormon is what makes or breaks our religion. If it's true, then our church is true. Right? If not, then our church is false. That's all there is to it. The only way to know anything is true is to ask of God, as James directed. James 1:5. Read the BOM & ask Him!
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
@CorbinAllred I don't think God rejects everyone who has wrong theology. However, wrong theology does distort our image of God and thus filters our relatioship of Him. Just like drugs may do to someone. They may have difficulty with relationships because of being under the influence. The Mormon Church does indeed have distortions. God was not as Adam. Jesus doesn't live on another planet and you won't get your own. Jesus and the Father are one along with the HS. It just hurts to admit it.

Michael Coe:
The Book of Mormon is very explicit about what the Nephites brought with them to this land: domestic animals, domestic crops, all of Old World origin; metallurgy, the compass, things like that.... Plenty of evidence for all kinds of other things that are Native American, but nothing there. And that's the problem: They simply haven't shown up.
AxelQC 11 months ago
@AxelQC Mmm, not quite. Watch this: watch?v=D6bgHHm_Ubc. Did we find Noah's boat? Nope. Did we find the rock that water flowed from? Nope. Did we find evidence of the Red Sea parting? Nope. But we believe these things happened, because they are written in a book that we believe to be true.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
The Nephite Church of Christ ( also Mormon ) has witnesses too and the use of testimony for conversion . Within Mormon culture, the word "testimony" has become synonymous with "belief." An individual who no longer believes in the religion is referred to as having "lost their testimony."
Testimony is not Archaeological PROOF.
kramd1 11 months ago 4
@kramd1 There's no such thing as PROOF with God. That's not how he words. Don't you remember what he said about sign seekers? Matt 12:39 "But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a asign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas." Seeking proof that something is real, i.e. physical evidence, it NOT the way the Lord teaches us. We learn from His Spirit. We are presented with materal, we read, we pray and ask. That's it.
CorbinAllred 10 months ago
But then why would God send His Holy Spirit to a mormon believing in Salvation through Jesus Christ if the book of Mormon is not God's literal Word. Because isn't the salvation of a sincere heart repenting from sin more important than perfection of doctrine since doctrines' job is to lead us to God and salvation. This is why there are many abberrant groups who, although, they have the wrong bible or interpretation, they sense God. Because He His mercy will draw them to Himself, nevertheless.
messianicreformer 11 months ago
Although much in the mormon bible is true especially, the biblical passages, much of the archeology has proved to be incorrect. This has been proven archeologically accurate as the bronze ago was~ 4,400 yrs ago when biblical account records Tuval-cain to have lived. Those who came to the U.S., it appears they came before but in the book of Mormon, Nephi 1 it mentions the Indian natives as forging weapons of Iron. However, there was no Iron work in the Americas, neither evidence to support it.

kramd1 11 months ago
@kramd1 The only evidence for the book of Mormon is the testimony of Joseph Smiths testimony. One person is not enough evidence. Even the bible says there must be two witnesses. The many verses taken from Psalms and other parts of the bible allow enough truth wherewith people can see that there is something called sin, salvation, repentence and most other JudeoChristian concepts. Many Mormons have a good sense about these things yet many have the wrong idea about Jesus.
messianicreformer 11 months ago
@messianicreformer There were actually eight witnesses to the Book of Mormon who saw the plates of Gold. So he isn't the only witness to it to be technical.
KenM66 11 months ago
Majority of all LDS media hooks cling on the PROOF word and so on. There is no real evidence at all people. You have the farms group and fair group along with the self appointed apologist that all have there own assumptions and notions on where the bofm lands are or where the great battles took place. For a church that so many claim to be true...it is sure hard to prove its validity.

That's my testimony.

why do mormons these intellectual mormons treat proof or evidence as evil.
Peterson says " If you rely on evidence your in a constant state of flux.
