Forget 61/21 in this generation shaq would of easily have 120/56 game easily imagine thats just so scary to think about it. He was beyond a building this guy was just not a beast he was something else. He was a planet he was so unstoppable.
Ppl font know but Hakeem was in his prime. If prime shaq would of gone one on one with Hakeem prime. Shaq would of destroyed him. Shaq kivked hakeems ass later in his career when his career was going out when he was with the raptord. And to you cheap Clipper fans if shaq would of been on this generation he woulda block the shit out of that Jordan and Griffin and put them in foul trouble all day.
Shaq will be for ever the best center that NBA got it, that skills with that body it's just amazing, how he moves in the paint and in transition, how he pass the ball and how he rebounds...
I don't know why people think Bill Russell is the best when they (most likely) never saw him play any game. I'm not saying he's bad but he played in the 60's and I doubt any of us watched NBA back then.
@moewwe54 Bill Russell is not the best. He benefited from having 6 HOF teammates, the GOAT coach, and unathletic white guys guarding him. Put him in todays NBA, 8ppg, 9rpg.
@sizzlexc 14 and 9 would make him the best player today? Kevin Love has better numbers than that and he isnt the best in the game. I was being quite generous with my previous ppg estimate. Russell was horrible on offense, as a center, being an athletic freak of his time, being taller than majority of the players, and being able to camp in the paint all day, never put up 19ppg +, while shooting at a horrible % for a 5. His blocks and rebounds were against small white stiffs. Dwight guarding him?
Pete Chilcutt, Anthony Avent, Taylor, Olowocaddy, ... they might as well guard him with Piatkowski!!!! 2 mindblowing plays though, Shaq on fastbreak and spin-alley-oop!! DAMN!
@ozimus YES! I hate how people repect legends so much like Wilt Chimberlain their embarassed to say someone is better but Im not. Wil Chimberlain's era were weak as
@stsk7 he might not have shooting skills but having SIZE is the skill you cant teach!!everything else you can learn n practice but you cant grow by practice.so Shaq used his size n power well he is top 5 center of all time
@ozimus i'm sorry as much as i love Shaq, the best center title has to go to my boy Hakeem and even Shaq said in an interview "Hakeem Olajuwon was the only center I couldn't defeat, all the other ones I demolished."

I'm surprised at how smooth Shaq looked at some of his baskets. With his typical bully-ball dunks, he also showed some nice footwork and sweet finger rolls for some of his baskets. Awesome game, and I'll miss the big fella.
Well duh... hes 325 pounds. The thing is that he can still move so well with all that weight. If you can even jump friggen 3 inches up in the air with 325 pounds on you, maybe you can start talking.
If Shaq played back in the 60's at the same time as Wilt, Shaq would've became the best Player Ever in the NBA, alot stronger and more physical than Wilt, no questions asked!
anybody noticed if Shaq made all 22 of his free throws, he would have ended up with 70 points beating Jordan's career high of 69. WOW that would be something else if he did =X
I'm not say Shaq is better then Wilt, but rules then were more chilled out, no defense or offense 3 seconds no back to the basket 5 second rule, and prolly few other rules weren't applied back then. I guarantee he would of not been able to pull off 100 pts if he was in this era, nor could he have had 50 ppg 27 rebounds>.>
@HelpfulPenguin its more of the reason why because of shaq all these rules applies...he really change the game for CENTER positions, which i would assume makes dwight howard that much harder to be near this level where shaq was at.
@HelpfulPenguin Most of the rule changes, that are around today, were made during chamberlain's time to stop him from dominating and he still dominated with every new rule change. I don't know if he would score 100 but he would definitely adjust to the rules and still dominate
I had forgotten just how good the Most Dominant Ever used to be. I mean you realize he was one of the best but even still without watching clips you don't really appreciate it. Unfortunately, nowadays Shaq is just holding on trying to ride somebody else's coattails to another championship. It's sad knowing that we are going to have to watch one of the greatest Lakers ever hanging on this time with the worst team he could go to, the Boston Celtics.
Shaq is a beast and the most dominant center in his prime but.......the clippers just looked lost out there like they were all in the crowd and not on the court.
If Shaq would've been a hungrier basketball player, he'd EASILY be a top 5 player of all time. Instead, he's hovering around #10. Besides Wilt, most dominant player ever.
No, no he wasn't. Shaq was better from his 2nd year on, but he wasn't better in his rookie year. Dwight averaged similar numbers while being more efficient from the floor, drawing more fouls, as well as being a better defender.
Shaq in his prime is better than any other center in their prime, in the history of the nba. Shaq s vertical was incredible for a guy 7 foot 1 and 350 POUNDS!!!!! The guy does not get enough credit for averaging 30 points, nearly 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 57 percent shooting from the field. Look at those DOMINANT numbers. The two greatest centers of from the modern era (90's to now) are clearly Shaq and Hakeem Olajuwon. Dont forget that Olajuwon BEAT Shaq in the 1995 nba finals.
Sometimes you foget how dominant Shaq was 10 years ago. He had a 3 or 4 year run there in the early part of the 2000's that was as great as any Basketball player has ever had. It's somewhat of a shame that he'e fallen off so far from what he was.
Nobody is going to score 100 pts ever again! Also nobody is going to average 50 ppg or 27 rebounds (his rookie year!) or 48,5 minutes per game in a season! Ever! If they had counted blocks back then he would be No. 1 in that category too. It was normal for him to block 7-8 shots in a game.
@555erik555 Wilt Chamberlain didn't average that in his rookie season, he averaged 37 points and 27 rebounds his rookie year, those numbers are from his third year in the league
@555erik555 you said it wilt the greatest player in NBA History for me better than kobe lebron and even michael because he scored 100 points in a game and 4000 in a season with out ever hitting a three because there was none back then he all so had 55 rebounds in a game
@MrOsmabinladen against 6'7" 150lb centers... Honestly the only player that could even challenge him was Russell who was past his prime and undersized when they met.
I would absolutely HATE to play for the clippers, always living in the shadow of the Lakers. I mean, for Christ's sake, they're basically playing on the Laker's homecourt EVERY time they play against one another. That's just gotta suck.
I've been saying this since the start... Kobe would of been a nobody if he hadn't played along side Shaq. keep in mid, while Shaq was dominating the game and leading the Lakers, Kobe was still improving as a medium type level player. He was nowhere in hell as dominant as Shaq was and will never be. Too bad they had their differences, these two would of won consecutively 5+ rings.

@BlackoutRapper if Shaq played in that era he would have shattered all Wilts records.

I would absolutely HATE to play for the clippers, always living in the shadow of the Lakers. I mean, for Christ's sake, they're basically playing on the Laker's homecourt EVERY time they play against one another. That's just gotta suck.
I sympathize for the Clips, I really do.
