It's not true to say that it's easier to score in basketball today. Hell, every single sport on Earth is more competitive now adays than it was 10-20 years ago. I hate Kobe. I hate the Lakers. But holy fuck, he's an absolutely amazing basketball player, and I hate saying it so much, but better than Michael Jordan. Jordan can be compared to Lebron in playstyle, seeing as he both scored and assisted. However, even if you compared those two, Lebron would be considered to be a stronger player.

Kobe's era has Durant, Lebron, Wade, Dwight Howard, Shaq, Duncan, Rose, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Dirk, Garnett, Iverson, Carmelo, Vince Carter, etc. Jordan's era had Magic Johnson, Bird, Wilkins, and Abdul-Jabbar. There are more players from Jordans era ranked in the top 50 to ever play the game than any other, so you're wrong. Iverson would likely make the top 50, as would Lebron. Durant has not yet done enough but will likely get there. Carmello... no fkn way. He is just a scorer and not even a very efficient one at that. He also doesn't play a lick of defense.

Wilt's teammates would purposely miss free throws for Wilt to get the rebound and convert a 2 instead.

It is much easier to score in today's game because of the removal of the hand checking rule, the addition of the 3 second rule, the addition of flagrant fouls and the ticky tack fouls.
Yet Kobe's highest scoring season is at 35ppg.

Jordan got hammered HARD by the Pistons back then.
Those fouls that Jordan received would be considered flagrant fouls today.
The only way to stop young MJ was to foul him HARD so he would think twice about attacking.
